Mother's Day 2021!

Mother's Day snuck up on me big time!!! I thought it was maybe not until next weekend... oops. I have to finish this image by Sunday. Ideally tomorrow. What a rush! Here's a glimpse of it, and it will be done very soon. I did want to finish the Hooters pic next, but this now has full priority.

But alas, this will be the third annual Parent.Magazine cover! This time featuring GM hogging the VR headset... her kids want their turn.

My most apologies this took so long! This image was made on three different drawing tablets. I've been working on replacing my dying Cintiq 13HD and I am still getting used to the one I settled on so far. Note to self: don't make a drawing with clean lineart on a new tablet. But the new tablet seems to be getting the job done; I plan on making more 'messier' doodles as I get the hang of it.

Giraffe mom wearing a Hooters uniform is such a natural habitat even though I haven't scribbled it yet, heh.

I'm not sure if I'll "finish" this image because I was going for a certain low-angle. Like this is supposed to be a point of view of the viewer sitting at the table, but I wasn't quite able to succeed with the angle to my satisfaction... so I at least splashed some color on it to make it more presentable!

Yes it's canon: giraffe mom drives a 1996 Ford Aerostar.

Also canon: I have no idea how she even fits in it. However I may have made her a pinch too big/tall here... it's hard to say. I might adjust the sizes a bit from here, but either way I don't think she'll be able to fit in it very well.

Anyway, logistics aside, the sketch is very messy and there's lots more work to be done but I tried to make her having fun! Perhaps this is where her son Cuke's trait of being into rock music...

You know how people have what they call "comfort OCs"? Basically a character that is just always fun to draw again and again... well, Pom is one of those for me, especially when it's working on a pic of her butt lol

I used a pencil tool for lineart for the little bit of ruggedness to go with the soft shading and highlights, and also deliberately didn't smooth everything out perfectly to keep a subtle text...

[WIP] March Poll Image - Catfish Fertility Goddess

Messy preliminary sketch, plenty to fix, and some more ideas in mind... will probably strategically add some more fins to her body, might change the pattern a bit, but I decided to go with a red tail catfish as per suggestion by Luke Goudie!
