Crafting 0.4.2
So, first of all, crafting. Not going to look like much compared to 0.4.1, but 0.4.2 is dozens of hours further along - its just the vast majority of that was data entry and plugging numbers into formulas and tweaking things - every recipe for every branch has now be recompiled in the back end system, and almost all of them have been slightly tweaked for greater consistency and according to feedback.

Crafting
First of all, I've promised frequent updates here, and frequent updates we shall have. The numbers and DCs of Woodcarving and Tinkering have been updated; almost every thing has been slightly tweaked based on feedback and the updated math. Enchanting should be update tomorrow but might go into Thursday as that's a big on. Expansions and new branches will resume once that's done.
Note: I'm not doing many updates to the text right now beyond that I'm condensign materials ...

What follows is a long ramble about the design process and design philosophy; skip to the end for the links to the content :D
So, next up was Wizards. This one took a bit longer, and there's a reason for that... the Order of the Unknown we are going to see here is brand new. I just finished it a few minutes ago, and you guys are seeing it at the same time as the playtesters, so... no promises, but I've put a lot of thought into this one, so let me explain a bit.
I had a Psionic Wi...

Okay, the Fairy has nothing to do with the compendium or anything, but for folks that missed it I shared a revision of the Fairy race here.
Now, on to the subclasses:

Today I bring you Barbarians. The Psionic Path of the Raging Mind expresses their rage unto the world around them in devastating fashion, flinging weapons and foes alike, and the strange Path of the Exosuit answers the question of what happens when the Barbarian teams of with a mysterious and powerful exosuit: stuff gets smashed.

Warlord 1.4.1:

This is just a preview, a few more changes may become before the official release, but this is the version the playtesters will be playing with. Some of the big changes is that Overwhelming Mark has been retired in favor of Urgent Orders; Overwhelming Mark has ...

Your votes at work! I asked you folks what the release order of the playtest subclasses should be, and you voted for... rogues? So rogues we have!
The Psionic Lurker!
A face forgotten in the night. A thought stolen without a trace. A corpse found in a dark ally with a terrified expression. These are the legacies of a Lurker. They pass through the night with less tracks than a wh...

Over the next month or so, I'll be releasing the playtest/beta versions of the subclasses for all non-Artificer classes. For fun, I figured I'd throw up a poll for the order you folks want to see them.
The Fighter isn't on the poll as I've already posted them:

Let me know what you'd like to see!

These are preview versions of these subclasses that are going out for playtesting. If you'd like to playtest them or just read them and share your thoughts, I'd be happy to see what you think.
Tech Knight has been fairly heavily revamped, giving it a tight focus on the weapons as giving them more cool things to do with them. They are more engines of war and thematically close to Fighter, as well as being more unique from Eldritch Knight compared to the last iteration.

Hey folks; as promised, wood working is here. It is not perfect, but wanted to get the system in.
I've also refactored Leatherworking a bit to differentiate between rawhide, tanned, and boiled leather, and largely made the process of converting hide somewhat more difficult; it's a bit inconvenient, but I think makes a bit more sense (after all, you cannot make armor out of ore either). Converting hides to raw hide or boiled/tanned leather might be something you delegate out to an ...

I don't post this everything time I update it, but with a bunch of new folks and more than 10 spells since last time I posted it, I figure its time to bring forward the Casting Compendium for the month.
It has the freshly added and somewhat horrifying mutate added!
For those that haven't seen this before, this is the compiled collection of all the spells I post as part of other things, all collected into one place (and serves as the list of additional spells I use in my games). It...

Hi folks-
This isn't a huge update, but I wanted to get this update out there for Leatherworking. I've decided to push forward with Leatherworking and Woodworking (pending shortly) before I do the revamp of the layout; the reason for this is those are the branches of crafting that will add more materials, so once those are in, I think I have all the base materials in, so I can refactor it once and for all to the new more unified material approach :)
Also... welcome! A lot of you a...

Hi folks-
Been promising that I'd include Tinkering for a bit now, so wanted to send an update with it included. This is not quite complete, but includes a pretty big chunk of it and brings in a lot more items to make, rounding out the list of adventuring gear.
There's two things I'm still working out with it:
- First of all, the name of it's miscellaneous materials might change. Currently it's called "junk" (with "fancy junk" and "esoteric junk" being the more expensive...

So let's start with... this is a preview version. I promised folks I'd post an update version, but there's a lot left to do for this version - I haven't even gotten into the Runesmith/Cursesmith/Fleshsmith updates, and there's more to do in a few other sections. It turned out I had very large piles of feedback to parse here.
It should be noted that 2.1 is not the version that will appear the Compendium even once it is done... 2.1 is the version that will serve as the pr...

The Kickstarter has done massively well so far! It funded in 3 hours, and is currently at 370% funded... simply incredibly. I'm in the process of confirming a few things, and will hopefully get an update tomorrow with some new things there.

Crafting
I have new stuff for you; crafting has updated again, bringing:
- Two new pages of enchanting (armor! more weapons! new stuff!)
- Array of blacksmithing tweaks.
- Cooking! It's not fully done, but is a solid branch now.
- Lot of little fixes (wand prices, column labels, copy paste errors, etc).

So I have good news and bad news; Runesmith is still going to go through a bit more playtesting with some new tweaks (that's the bad news), but the good news is I'm going to open this one up for everyone on patreon, as many folks have wanted to get in.
For those that haven't seen it for awhile, there's quite a bit restructuring; as for the original goal of simplifying it, I think it's possible I may just have to concede defeat on that front, but I think this version is... more organized...

There's a fair bit new here; the biggest edition is a further expansion of Enchanting, and a whole new branch... Wand Whittling, using Woodworking Tools to carve magic wands :)
Wands did end up taking a second pass - originally I'd planned for them to be fully modular (like the Lesser Wands are) but the more I dug into wands the more I realized that didn't fit, and it would limit their extensibility.
There are probably a few wands folks would hope to see here that aren't included,...

Brought to you by a patron request, we have something a bit different!
Undead is tricky race, because they tend to break some of the fundamental assumptions of the game. Consequently, this one comes with a pretty big "talk to your DM before considering playing a skeleton in your game, a skeleton is suitable for all games!" tag.
But, for those that need a second run at this life business, I have just thing for you with this Undead option that decided to leave the whole mindless bus...

So it's still a mess, but I've resolved to share more frequent updates, not more prefect updates. I'm still going through and adjusting things here and there, so if you gave feedback, it may still be in process, but feel free to remind me.
The big addition here is bringing forward Enchanting. It is not quite complete, but the framework is there. Scrollcraft is still very closely tied to enchanting (for obvious reasons) but is a subbranch now (like Poisoncraft of Alchemy). Fleshing out d...

This is a collection of all of the spells I've made for various other projects. That's currently 73 spells in total. To be clear, this won't contain many (if any at all) brand new spells that cannot be found anywhere else, it just collects all the spells I've made into one place. As many of the spells only exist in the wild in a random reddit post, however, perhaps that will still be helpful.
I will keep this updated moving forward as a one-stop reference for all my spells from all of ...

So this is a bit of a mess. It's largely functional, but this is definitely sort of hacked together right now. I've been working on this a lot, and I have a lot of versions floating around; I've tried to unify this into a coherent thing, and I think this is largely the system I'm going with, but it needs a lot of polish.
To be honest, I think Crafting has been a major challenge just due to volume; by the time I get to the end of a version, I already have to start changing the start of a...

A new psion subclass and discipline that'll be working its way into the next update for the Expanded Options of Psion, this one focuses on the darker path of psionic consumption, feeding off psionic energy and consuming the minds (usually not literally, but there's a talent for that...) to further their own powers.
Based on a patron request, this versions is out for some tested and tweaking, but will probably appear in the next update for the Expanded Options. It is a Discipline the com...

One of the most back and forth parts of Crafting that's delayed getting it into your hands is the contention around the "crafting roll" and what purpose it serves in crafting. With the latest version, a fundamental question has been asked a lot... does crafting even need a roll?
The fundamental principle of crafting is turning materials into stuff. A consistent part of the feedback is that players hate when they end up during materials into nothing by failing a crafting roll. T...

So... this is something a little different. I don't run that many one-shots, as I mostly either run campaigns or playtests, but awhile ago I ran one shot for my players where they were abducted by a spaceship as specimens and had to shoot their way off with laser guns.
That may sound ridiculous, and it definitely is. My philosophy with one-shots is generally that they are a chance to do something I wouldn't ever want to do in a normal campaign
It was never my intention to turn t...

Blacksmithing is the next crafting branch to get updated, and it's a little overdue now, but this is part of what I've been working on for it; this is just a little preview really, but I've been trying to balance how to make it interacting with the average adventuring day compared to something like Alchemy, and I think these provide a bit of fun and small little boosts that make it feel like a Blacksmith has something to offer when it comes to weapons and armor.
