Now that I'm back in the states I've got shooting on my mind. Wanted to whip up some larping Kara.
Gonna likely just clean the line work up on this, instead of doing another new layer of line art. She's wearing M81s so, it'll be interesting to paint the woodland camo on, I've never really done it before!

Finally back in the swing of drawing! Feels really good. The main character is actually from a drawing I did a while back, but I wanted to whip up a background and give it a little more story.
The background is actually traced from a photo I took in Tokyo, with some freehand alterations made. Overall I kept the tracing really loose so it wouldn't dominate the piece.

Fun fact! The shrine in the Lucky Star OP is in Saitama, right outside of Tokyo. The town is called Washinomiya.
Some of my friends from California are also visiting Japan right now, so I took them along.
The shrine is really easy to get to, it’s maybe a 5 minute walk from the station. There’s lucky star stuff everywhere!!! The Hiiragi twins are especially popular it seems.

There’s a ramen museum in Yokohama that has a replica showa era town inside it. There’s a bunch of little ramen shops that serve different styles of ramen. I only really had room for two bowls, but I got to try a tonkotsu shoyu ramen with roasted garlic, and a half shio, half shoyu chintan ramen. Both were fucking incredible.
The actual museum inside was whatever, the ramen town was the real attraction!!

Sorry for the delay on posting this. I celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with a new friend I made in Tokyo!
So from Takamatsu I took a boat to Tonosho. For the ride there I took a high speed boat, and then on the way back I took the ferry.
Tonosho is to my understanding, the main town on Shodoshima island. Shodoshima is known for it’s olive oil! So there’s this little olive mascot everywhere.

I went to Shodoshima today! Shodoshima is in Kagawa prefecture, its part of a chain of islands.
In order to get there, I had to take the shinkansen from Tokyo to Okayama, then take a smaller train from Okayama to Takamatsu. The journey was incredible, I would highly recommend going just for the train ride alone. They take you over this massive bridge where you can see the incredible vastness of the reigon.

I was originally planning to just stick around Tokyo, but I decided to buy a JR rail pass last minute and go to Kyoto. I have a Japanese friend, Ken san, who lives in Kyuushuu, but offered to come up to Kyoto to show me around!
I'll just start off by saying, this was probably the most fun day of my life. Kyoto was beautiful, but being able to experience it with a friend is the most incredible experience.

I've developed an interest in photography, specifically of city scapes with little to no people in them. I've gotten quick at crouching down in the middle of a road or crosswalk and popping off photos.
