Lycans were known for their armoured skin that made them resistant to taking damage, but even with Ves possessing a dire line and being stronger than most lycans, hitting Lupa was like trying to fight an impenetrable fortress. It demonstrated the immense power that dires possessed compared to normal lycans, which is why they were once feared more by vampires and witches.

Veskariss was a prodigy of sorts that wq took under her wing, she was one of the rare lines that descended from the dires, from a family that once was loyal to the queens pack, until gilga was forced to put them down. She felt it only right to take in ves, even if the woman might want revenge one day, she would hold no grudge against her. The queen was all to familiar with having ones family taken from them.
