When sonja woke she quickly fell into a rage-like state, Empusa already knew sonja had been in out at the red sea and likely inflicted with hecatoncheires madness. Titans that use to consume their own for power typically fell down this path but in sonja's case the relic weapon she held had been forged with titan fragments and driven her mad.
