After rendering this image, I decided I needed another go at it. After doing a second take, I realized there were elements I preferred about the first one, but couldn't decide.

EDIT: FIXED!
(Despite not being a problem up until the final render, I noticed the tail has come out very angular and low poly Vs the preview. I'm pretty sure I've resolved the issue now, so will re-render this overnight.)

Hope everyone's doing good out there.
Sorry for the quiet. Had one of those months where it felt like everything I did was turning out kinda crap, so this month's content is a little smaller as a result.
Felt a little more "in the zone" the past couple days, but once "Closer" is done, I'm probably going to force myself to unplug for a few days to recharge my batteries*
*clearly I don't understand how batteries work

Had hoped I'd have this finished by today, but I've just not been happy with it yet.
Gonna upload this as a WIP and update in the next day or so when it's finished.
There'll be fur and more pixels in the final version.
I've not started final render just yet, so if you're quick, you can have your say on whether I go for a close up, or show a little more body. Feel free to make other suggestions, though I can't promise I'll be able to fulfill everyone's wishes. ...

If it seems like a popular idea, I might add a few more and make a sequence outta this lil scenario here.
I had a precurser image almost ready to post (had started mid-tf, then worked backwards), and it's probably about 90% done, but it's that last 10% that takes the time and I didn't wanna rush it out half assed. Even if I hit render now, it wouldn't be done tonight. Maybe it'll make an appearance in June?

Definitely veered into a more animated style for this one. Tried to give a reasonable likeness to the character as she's drawn, but also with just a dash of Michelle Pfieffer.
In post, I couldn't choose between a vibrant saturated look, or a bleaker, noir Gotham vibe, so I included a couple of alt versions. The image without all the sparks, smoke, splashes ...
Hazy Mia
An exercise in chromatic aberration and catgirls. Rather than having a slider like you'd find in some video games (or simply an on/off button), the slightly distorted colouring is achieved by literally (digitally) placing a transparent lense shaped object between the sibject and camera.
This seems to add a considerable amount to render time, and also makes it very hard to tell exactly where the camera is focusing on until it's had quite a bit of time cooking in the render oven.

Honestly, probably still my all time favorite subject, April O'Neil in all her feline glory. If it's cool with you fine folk, I might aim to do an April every month (or perhaps alternating months, I dunno)

Toying with hair and wardrobe for Irma from the classic TMNT.
What do you guys think? Am I nearly there? Should I try something totally different?

A much more cartoonish approach that I dabbled with before working on the previous images. Was fun to switch things up a bit, but I think I prefer the more realistic style.
