I lost count of the various versions of April that I've toyed with/worked at over time.   I feel this one's slightly more cartoonish than a lot of my other stuff.

Of all the stuff I do, only a small percentage of it ever sees the light of day, from abandoned projects, to lunchtime sketches, there's a bunch of stuff I'm gonna try and roll out each day.  It won't always be pretty, polished pieces, and will usually be a nice simple affair, but I'm gonna do what I can to keep these daily doodles coming as regularly as poss, and without charge for backers.

So, here's a little glimpse into my typical creative process..

Spend day working on scene,

Take break after a bunch of hours to gain perspective and avoid burnout,

End up spending said break  actually doing more 3D stuffs in entirely new blank workspace, and bodge together some cool/creepy/cute/monster animal hybrid character,

Preview the creation, realise it could use some dressing.  Add props, lights, hair, clothing etc,

Feb Happenings

Been a slightly haphazard maker of renders this month, working on a variety of projects rather than just focusing on the one.  Not sure it's made me any more or less productive.  It's kept things a little fresher for me, though in turn also made it slightly harder to fully immerse myself in a single project.  Swings and roundabouts as they say.

Happy (Belated) New Year!

Whether you're going by the Chinese calender or not, this is late, but nevertheless, thanks for sticking around so far.

Firstly, a little disclosure on the current situation.  Health has been up and down, but Jan has been a bit rough, that coupled with the fact I rely on a temperamental and rather week mobile broadband signal has made regular posting difficult.  Did I mention the frequent powercuts?  I'm a little behind on messages, email etc, but I'm catching up!

Irma pulled out her phone as she watched the wind pull at the curtains, and idly ran her finger across an old framed photograph, from simpler times.

"Me again.  Yeah, she's on the move again.  Don't worry, I managed to slip a tracker on her, we should be good. No, there's no way I could stop her.  You gotta see her now, it's something else.  Yeah, no, you're gonna want backup.

She's a beast!"

Warily backpeddling her way towards the sofa, April the Cat Woman hissed and swipped with futility at Irma's amusement.

"Don't try and stop meeow! Stay back!" she hissed awkwardly through the whiskered muzzle of fangs

Irma simply shrugged and laughed, "April, April, April...  You can run all night, but it won't change nuthin'. Once the night is through, it's 'Bye bye Apri, Hello Kitty!"

The Cat Woman bristled and hissed.  The sense of claustrophobia was crushing her. and her budding rage wasn't helping calm the situation.  The night sky outside called from behind the curtain, and with it the hope of escape and reparation.

Her swollen claws clumsily shoved the window open before she began to slide out with animal agility.  She turned back and gave one last glance to her so called friend.  For a moment, there was a glimmer of sadness there, human and vulnera...
