Added 2024-02-27 03:39:56 +0000 UTCNo, Sakura does NOT know how Hinata feels. While she does have the ability to check, to do more than 'surface scans', she often refuses to do so. For many reasons.
Like 'what if my friends actually hate me'. Or 'what if I'm just a toy for Ino to play with' (explaining why she didn't do it up until Ino broke down about her almost dying)?
Sakura, at the end of the day, is a very sensitive person. That cares very, very much about things. And is terrified of opening up, or having people open up to her because she's scared of what she'll find out if either of those things happens.
The most Sakura knows is that Hinata feels a deep, abiding sense of affection. And is also permanently anxious. Both of which spike in her presence. Which isn't exactly a clue. Or not as much as you'd think.
Everyone feels things differently. Everyone's experience is different. She is, at least in this verse, Hinata's FIRST self-admitted friend. Ever. And before all of this, before puberty and sexual interests came into play, if Sakura offering Hinata a hug wasn't a clue, they were rather close.
Sakura wouldn't have offered otherwise. And have been so accepting when Hinata went for the one that happened last chapter.
