Brian and Trent, I think those of us that get it really do “get it”. It frustrates me to hear those guys talked about how you guys needed to understand how the market of comics work instead them trying to understand where you guys are coming from with dispersing your very own creation to those of us who actually want it. I have so much more I want to type, but I feel like I’ll just stumble into a rage and most of it won’t make sense. Bottom line is you guys are AMAZING!!! You are handling this the best way possible, and if it’s any consolation I am learning a lot from how you guys are handling this and passing it on to other fellow self publishing creators so they (hopefully) won’t have to deal with the same problem. Thank you so so so very much for pushing forward!!! Oh and FLY EAGLES FLY 🦅🦅🦅

2019-01-02 01:12:58 +0000 UTCSo first off let me start off by saying what makes a comic book very valuable is generally 3 things. First being if it's a key issue, whats a key issue? a first appearance/cameo, origin story, or story arc with huge rammifications or a significant impact (for example first appearance of wolverine, origin of knull, and the death of Bruce Wayne's parents). Second being print run, the smaller print the harder to find online on eBay which means it will go up in value over time. And the third and most important of all is which print run do you have, having the 1st original issue print (that was sold by retailers and local comic shops) makes the difference in hundreds to thousands of dollars when comparing to the 2nd, 3rd and so on reprints. And that's where the problem lies the retail print was being confused with paetron edition and scammers were taking advantage of fans and collectors with the p.o.d. version there was also assumption that they were uncensored as well. It's a good thing you guys came on and cleared the air about this whole rags fiasco because now eBay listing for the p.o.d. edition have dramatically dropped in price. But enough of my rant I just wanted say a big fan of your guys work, keep doing what you doing because you have something special here which is why I became a patron for the first time. In any case i think after that discussion last night we are still going to have folks angry at us no matter what we do or our best intentions. I'll just handle things on a case by case basis and hope that I'm doing the right thing.

Idk I’m just not a big fan ppl who only judge a book by how hot it is and how much it’ll be worth. After living through the 90s comic bubble burst I’m just jaded on that way of thinking . I really like what you’re doing by keeping certain covers to the true fans and supports .

So what I gathered from this and discord is that the uncensored versions will go to us (Patreon) customers only and everything censored will come from Antarctic press (retail).. The LCS I use sells the Antarctic stuff. So it’s getting out there. Personally I think (if you want this to get bigger). People flipping the books for high prices only helps you cause. As for people getting ripped off buying at those prices I see this every day on EBay and at the LCS’s if the demand is there the prices go up until people stop buying. If your a comic guy look at ASM 300 & Hulk 181 etc.. etc.. their way overpriced for the amount out there but they sell every day. Just my opinion so good luck and I’ll be here probably until the end. So. 🖖

I am also glad to see that you would be willing to try to help people get some kind of hard copy that isn't hundreds of dollars. Not everybody needs special edition covers if they just want to hold it in their hands and read it. There should at least be one version that a regular person can afford. Hopefully Antarctic Press will be enough to keep the comic affordable.

You would have to actually be cheating people out of what you promise for me to turn against you. Financial situations can change, and life issues come up. You seem to do well enough about warning people if there are ever problems. Transparency is also an important factor to me.
