MMO Series Update | MMOシリーズの進歩:

As per new weekly schedule, I have focused solely on animating this week but I’ll be focusing on the MMO series next week! Stay tuned then for more info!

Animation Update | アニメの進捗:

Some unfortunate news for the next YouTube video; it will be put aside for the time being as it would take too long to produce.

Allow me to explain. The next YouTube video is basically a silent vlog (meaning there’s no commentary) of my trip to Japan last year. The idea was that the video would contain real-life footage with animated characters on about half of the scenes.

次のYouTubeビデオについては残念なお知らせがある。制作に時間がかかりすぎるため、当分の間、お蔵入りとなる。

説明させてください。次のYouTubeビデオは、基本的に昨年の日本旅行のサイレント・ブログ（コメントなし）だ。シーンの約半分にアニメのキャラクターを使った実写映像を入れるというアイデアだった。

I spent the majority of the week completing most of the animated drafts for the 78 scenes that needed animations, however, upon judging the sheer number of animations required, I had to stop and reconsider. This is because I know for a fact that this particular video would take at least 3 months to complete at my current pace and schedule. It’s just too long of a production time for me to accept. I’m also afraid of another 3-5 month long content drought on RandoWis, hence my decision to put this project aside for now.

As this video is a first of a 3-part series, it is absolutely important that I find a way to produce this in a more time efficient manner than what I have now. My intent is to come back to this project once I am able to find this new method, so that I don’t end up dying from overwork again now and in the future.

I’m thinking of maybe completing this in 3D or something, but we’ll have to wait and see. It pains me to make this decision, but I really I don’t want to make the same mistake of being too ambitious with primitive means again, haha!

In the meantime, I have begun production of another animated video for YouTube! This one will be much shorter, so it should be done during the next week that I focus on producing animations.

このビデオは3部作の第1作目なので、今よりもっと時間効率の良い方法で制作する方法を見つけることが絶対に重要です。この新しい方法を見つけることができたら、またこのプロジェクトに戻ってくるつもりだ。

もしかしたら3Dか何かで完成させることも考えているが、それはまたの機会にしよう。この決断をするのは心苦しいが、原始的な手段で野心的になりすぎて同じ過ちを繰り返したくないというのが本音だ！

その一方で、YouTube用に別のアニメビデオの制作を始めた！これはもっと短いものなので、アニメ制作に集中する来週中には完成するはずだ。

It really is disappointing to have to set aside this vlog about Japan, especially after working on it for the past month or so. Despite that, if I continued its production, I know for sure that I’m going to start pulling my hair out soon, haha.

To give you some insight, the base video for the vlog (meaning the finalised version of all the real-life footage without the animated characters) was compiled and done within a day. To release the video publicly after 3-5 months later simply because the animation production took that long just doesn’t make sense to me in terms of content production efficiency. I need to up my production standards.

I hope this news isn’t too disappointing for you, but know that I will return to this in the future for sure. I’ll make sure to update you along the way!

日本についてのこのブログを中断しなければならないのは本当に残念だ。とはいえ、このまま制作を続ければ、すぐに髪の毛が切れ始めるのは間違いない。

少し説明すると、Vlogのベースとなるビデオ（アニメのキャラクターを除いた現実の映像の最終版という意味）は、1日以内に編集して完成させた。アニメ制作に時間がかかったからといって、3～5カ月後にビデオを公開するのは、コンテンツ制作の効率という点で、私には理解できない。私の制作基準を上げる必要がある。
