Weekly update time!

Unfortunately I have some upsetting news to share; I don’t think I can finish the MMO chapters before I leave for my trip next week.

I have been suffering from a severe stomach flu since Wednesday, and even today, I’m still in the process of recovery. Things have gotten better thankfully (I no longer have to fight with a 39.4 °C fever) but it does not change the fact that work had been affected this past week. Truthfully, I’m very frustrated at the timing of this sickness and how it has completely thrown off my work flow. I explain further below.

In summary:

– Completed all the colour shading and details for chapter 14 only!

– Collaborative animation was finally released!

– Updates on the latest animation!

– Did not practice anatomy and gestures.

– A notice on weekly updates for the month of October!

MMO Series Update | MMOシリーズの進歩:

I wanted to finish colour shading and adding details for chapters 14 and 15, and then subsequently start on the backgrounds this week. It definitely would have been doable, if it weren’t for the fact that I was regularly bedridden for about half a week.

I’ve only managed to finish chapter 14’s shading and details with the time and energy I could make yesterday and the day before. It’s upsetting to admit, but at this rate, I won’t be able to finish the MMO chapters before I leave for my trip next week. At least, not in a state that I can be proud of.

It’s just been a series of unfortunate events, as is the RandoWis life haha.

第14章と第15章の仕上げの追加を終えて、その後に今週から背景に取りかかりたかった。半週ほど寝たきりになってしまったという事実がなければ、間違いなく可能だっただろう。

昨日、一昨日とできた時間と気力で、第14章の陰影と細部を仕上げることができただけだ。正直言って腹立たしいが、このままでは来週旅行に出るまでにMMOのチャプターを完成させることはできないだろう。少なくとも、胸を張れる状態ではない。

RandoWisの人生と同じように、不幸な出来事の連続だ。

Animation Update | アニメの進捗:

I had the opportunity to animate and produce Cover Corps’ Holostars English anniversary animation!

ホロスターズEnglishアニバーサリー・アニメーションのアニメーション制作を担当させていただきました！

This was the big collaborative animation that I had been working on for the past 5-6 months, and was an opportunity afforded to me because you, the fans, shared and loved my work enough to convince them that I was an artist worth approaching! So thank you!

Regardless whether you follow Holostars or not, I hope you enjoy the video!

これは、私が過去5〜6ヶ月間取り組んできた大きなコラボレーション・アニメーションであり、ファンの皆さんが私の作品に共感し、愛してくれたおかげで、私がアプローチする価値のあるアーティストであることを納得してもらえたからこそ与えられた機会でした！だから、ありがとう！

I managed to work on the next animation a little more before I got sick this week;

今週は体調を崩す前に、次のアニメーションを少し作ることができた；

The goal was to release this sometime today or yesterday, but as you can tell, it’s not done.

I do plan to at least finish this before I leave for my trip because, truth be told, it’s for an announcement of another collaboration.

目標は今日か昨日のうちに公開することだったが、お分かりの通り、まだ完成していない。

実を言うと、別のコラボレーションの発表のため、このアニメーションを少なくとも旅行に出発する前に完成させるつもりです。

The current plan is this;

1. Finish the latest animation.

2. Hopefully finish chapter 14 only before I leave for my trip next weekend.

Reading last week’s weekly update, oh how optimistic I was thinking things were going to go smoothly haha.

An important notice though:

I will be away starting the last week of September, and for the entire month of October.

The trip I’m taking lasts around 5 weeks, and it was supposed to serve as a retreat from the usual grind alongside visiting friends across the ocean, in the country of Japan. The length of this trip is why it was so important to me that I finished some MMO chapters before I go, because there won’t be any weekly updates during this 5 week period.

From the extra changes that required an extra month to fix the Holostars animation, to the fire department causing extreme fatigue during production and work, to having to leave the shirt store due to mismanagement, to getting sick just before this trip, it is with the utmost sincerity that I say I’m sorry things haven’t turned out better for RandoWis’ content, and that I couldn’t deliver the MMO chapters on time AGAIN.

Note that I am ever grateful for the opportunities provided this year, and that I do not regret taking these collaborative opportunities! It’s given RandoWis a direction I never imagined it could have, and I owe it to all fans, including you who are reading this, for building this path with me. I am happy. I just wish it didn’t seem like the recent success of RandoWis came at the expense of my own work, the work which you came to love and support in the first place, including the MMO series. It’s been almost 2 years since the last release.

You all deserve better and I had hoped to provide better, but broken promise after broken promise just makes me feel like I’ve been taking advantage of your kindness.

There will be one more weekly update next weekend, on the 23 September 2023. I will be sure to do my damn hardest while I still can to justify my trip, and to justify your patience. Please wait for me. I’ll give you what I can!

先週の週間更新を読んで、ああ、私は物事がスムーズに進むと思っていたのに、なんて楽観的なんだろう。

しかし、重要なお知らせがある：

9月最終週から10月いっぱいは不在です。

約5週間の旅で、海の向こうの日本の友人を訪ねるのと並行して、普段の忙しさから解放されるはずだった。この5週間は毎週の更新がないため、旅行前にMMOのチャプターをいくつか完成させておくことがとても重要だった。

ホロスターのアニメーションを修正するのに1ヶ月余分に必要だった追加変更から、消防署が制作と作業中に極度の疲労を引き起こしたこと、管理不行き届きでシャツ屋を辞めなければならなかったこと、この旅行の直前に病気になったことまで、RandoWisのコンテンツにとって事態が良い方向に向かわなかったこと、そしてMMOの章を再び予定通りに届けることができなかったことを心から残念に思う。

今年いただいたチャンスに感謝していますし、このようなコラボレーションの機会を得たことを後悔していません！RandoWisは、私が想像もしなかったような方向性を与えてくれました。そして、これを読んでくださっているみなさんを含むファンのみなさんが、私と一緒にこの道を築いてくださったおかげです。私は幸せです。ただ、最近のRandoWisの成功が、MMOシリーズを含め、最初に皆さんが愛して応援してくれるようになった私自身の作品を犠牲にしているように見えなければいいのですが。最後のリリースから約2年。

皆さんにはもっと良いものを提供する価値があり、私ももっと良いものを提供したいと思っていましたが、多くの約束を破った挙句、皆さんの優しさに甘えてしまったような気がします。

来週末、2023年9月23日にもう1回、週間更新がある。今のうちに、私の旅を正当化し、皆さんの忍耐を正当化できるよう、一生懸命頑張ります。待っていてください。できる限りのことをしますから！
