Hey everyone, how are you?

It’s another weekly update!

In summary: Didn't managed to do any MMO pages, polished all in-betweens for the animation, currently making some 3D trees in Blender, and managed to do some practices.

今週も更新します。

MMOのページには手を付けず、アニメーションの中間部分を磨き、Blenderで3Dの木を作り、練習もしました。

MMO Progress Update | MMOの進捗 :

Unfortunately the pressure of April coming to an end soon has gotten the better of me this week. I was planning on working on 1 page a day, but the thought of wanting to finish the animation overwhelmed me whenever I looked at the MMO pages.

My apologies for being weak this week!

残念ながら今週は4月がもうすぐ終わるというプレッシャーに負けてしまいました。1日1ページの予定でしたが、まだやっていないMMOのページを見るたびに、アニメを完成させたいという思いが勝ってしまいました。

今週は弱気で申し訳ないです！

Animation Update | アニメの進捗:

Like I said previously, IT’S ALMOST THE END OF APRIL, AND I’M STILL NOT DONE WITH OUTLINES!

I spent this week touching up on some of the in-betweens (by adding/removing frames and tweaking the timing) of certain cuts. After that, it was mostly spent practicing to make a tree, while trying to keep my PC alive while I practiced. I’m not sure if it’s due to an incorrect configuration, but my graphics card always sounds like a rocket whenever I edit the tree.

前にも言いましたが、もう4月も終わろうとしているのに、まだアウトラインが完成していません！

今週は、カットの動画を（フレームの追加や削除、タイミングの調整など）に手を入れました。その後は、ほとんどツリーを作るための練習に費やされ、その間、PCを生かすことに努めました。設定が悪いのか、ツリーを編集すると必ずグラフィックカードがロケットのような音を出すんです。

Poor bastards got stabbed right through the heart.

Ignoring that initial problem, the tree seemed kind of bare, so I tried adding more flowers.

心臓を突き刺されるなんて、かわいそうに。

最初の問題はさておき、この木はなんだか殺風景なので、花を増やしてみました。

Things got REALLY slow after this, and sadly, the PC crashed shortly after saving this image.

この後、本当に遅くなり、悲しいことに、この画像を保存した直後にPCがクラッシュしてしまいました。

…And so, I spent the remainder of the week searching for a new tutorial.

I don’t know what it is exactly, but I suspect that my PC cannot handle too many polygons. Rather than force it to, I decided to look for another tutorial, and found one I did. I am currently following a method which creates bunches of leaves as though they were puffs of clouds or cotton candy. Basically, instead of individual flowers, they’re like balloons whose outer shape is curvy and messy.

...というわけで、残りの週は新しいチュートリアルを探すのに費やしました。

原因はわかりませんが、私のPCはポリゴンの数が多すぎて処理できないのだと思います。無理に処理するよりも、別のチュートリアルを探したほうがいいと思い、見つけたのがこれです。現在私が行っているのは、まるで雲か綿菓子のような葉っぱの束を作る方法です。基本的に、個々の花ではなく、外形が曲線的で雑多な風船のようなものです。

It may look solid and complicated, but it’s actually hollow on the inside.

In fact, it’s just one small puff of leaves that I created clones of, which I then rotated, resized, and bunched together to make the clump you see above.

In case you’re wondering, the tutorial I followed also taught me how to stylise the lights and shadows to make it look somewhat 2D. Once I was done with that, all that’s left was to add colour.

一見、堅そうで複雑そうに見えますが、実は中は空洞になっています。

実は、これは小さな葉っぱの塊で、その葉っぱのクローンをたくさん作って、回転させたり、サイズを変えたり、束ねたりして、上の写真のような塊にしたのです。

ちなみに、このチュートリアルでは、ライトとシャドウをどのようにスタイライズして、2Dのように見せるかも教えてくれました。 これが終わったら、あとは色をつけるだけです。

Hopefully it’s convincing enough to be seen as a Cherry Blossom tree!

Also, petals!

桜の木として見てもらえるだけの説得力があるといいのですが。

あと、花びらも！

I experimented with less lines and looser strokes. Not sure if it’s working, but I’ll keep trying.

線を少なくして、筆致をゆるくして実験してみました。うまくいっているかどうかはわからないが、これからもやってみるつもりだ。
