2023-10-31 16:46:39 +0000 UTCI don't think I like the "you're not actually a warlock" first level, with no cantrips or spellcasting. Feels like you don't get to actually play the class you picked until 2nd level. It also doesn't seem like it will work well with getting your invocations right off the bat -- a lot of the core invocations you want at low level benefit your pact or eldritch blast. Guess I'll have to reserve judgement on that aspect until we see your take on the invocations.

2023-10-31 01:52:06 +0000 UTCI know it is small, but I really enjoy the box text explaining that your pact is the culmination of a search for power. It is often said that a warlock getting their subclass after the first level does not make sense narratively, but making it the culmination of first-level play and potentially having an interaction at the table sits so much more in line with the strengths of the game.
