Health Progress

Hi guys!

It's been a while since there was a post, and I wanted to update you all on things.

Overall, progress has been very good for me.

I've lost 35lbs in the last few months. A1C has gone from 11 at the end of April to 5.5 today. My Lipids profile shows the bad cholesterol and stuff is half of what it was in May.

The more concerning stuff is my eyes and heart. An echocardiogram showed that my heart has thickened in the last chamber growing inward which means tha...

Author Update + RaaWC 1 release

Hey guys, how is it going.

I'm still alive, but I've been having a rough time of it.

Since the beginning of the year, I've been having trouble with my vision. Just not feeling well, in a fog, etc. I was getting some visual migraines and was just not functioning right at all. I didn't have any energy to go try and fix things much either, probably depression.

Finally the optometrist referred me to visit an ophthalmologist suspecting I had diabetic retinopathy. I have had this ...

RaaWC2 - Chapter 98: Challenges of Separation

The weight of the spirit fruit pack settled heavily on Xiulan’s shoulders as she trudged behind Ming back toward Aeris. The rest of the journey was thankfully uneventful. Dust coated their boots by the time the Treasure Pavilion’s familiar architecture came into view.

They went straight to the Mission Bureau. A clerk checked the fruit packs, nodded curtly, and stamped Ming’s mission scroll complete. Ming recounted the bandit encounter with concise efficiency while Xiulan stood sil...

RaaWC2 - Chapter 97: Banditry

Xiulan slipped off her pouch containing her spirit beast egg and put it on top of the spirit fruits. Ming nodded. Turning toward the bandits, Xiulan sized them up.

One wielded a curved metal blade that looked dull in the filtered forest sunlight. The other palmed a shrinking green orb that settled into a solid sphere. A thrown bullet, or bomb?

“Last chance to walk away,” Xiulan warned, adopting a defensive stance.

The bandits laughed. “Little girl playing cultivator,...

Trigger and Terminal (Ep.2)

Guess it's not a 'oneshot', lol.

As noted before, all the illustrations are generated via Gpt4o-image, or Midjourney. Sometimes edited in photoshop or cut together by me. I'm not very good at color grading things yet...

All the framing, ballooning of text, etc is done by me in Clip Studio.

I'm not an experienced comic artist, so while working on the first and this episode I've been watching a lot of youtube videos, reading, and learning about it. Some things came on...

Trigger and Terminal (Oneshot?)

Some partnerships were never meant to exist. Some things should never have been connected. In the shadowy war on the cyber-net, the line between hero and villain has never been more blurred.

Princess and Maid: Chapter 15: First Blood

Morning sunlight slanted through the chamber windows, painting golden stripes across Adrastia’s quarters. Roselle sat in her wheelchair, stomach twisted into knots. The princess stood before a polished mirror, examining her reflection with critical detachment.

“Hand me that blouse,” Adrastia instructed, gesturing toward clothing laid across her bed.

Roselle wheeled over, careful not to jostle her ribs, and picked up the garment. Unlike the practical military uniforms Adrasti...

Princess and Maid - Chapter 14: Proxies and Principles

Adrastia guided the wheelchair through palace corridors Roselle had never seen. Each turn revealed more opulence—gilded ceiling frescoes, marble statues in recessed alcoves, doorways inlaid with mother-of-pearl.

The few nobles they passed stopped mid-conversation, bowing deeply to Adrastia while casting curious glances. Roselle ducked her head. It was probably the first time they, or anyone for that matter, had ever seen a princess pushing a servant along in a wheelchair.

They a...

Princess and Maid - Chapter 13: Blood and Duty

Adrastia paused outside the ornate double doors of her father’s sitting room. Two imperial guards flanked the entrance, their gilded armor gleaming in the morning light streaming through two nearby windows. One guard’s gaze flickered briefly to the fencing sword at her hip—a subtle reaction, quickly masked.

She straightened her formal court attire’s crimson capelet. The sword remained. As heir apparent, she ranked among the few permitted to bear steel in the Emperor’s presence...

Adrastia ran her hand along Midnight’s neck, admiring how sunlight played across his coal-black coat. The enormous warhorse dipped his head, intelligent eyes tracking her movements.

“Magnificent beast,” she murmured, scratching behind his ears. “Worth every gold piece I spent on you.”

Midnight nickered softly, nudging her shoulder with his velvety muzzle. Around the pond’s edge, twenty riders tended to their mounts. The afternoon exercise had pushed them hard—six hou...

Princess and Maid - Chapter 11: Whispers and Warnings

Adrastia and Lady Sephine stared at Roselle with identical expressions of surprise.

“What exactly did you hear?” Adrastia asked, her tone suddenly sharp.

Roselle wiped her palms against her apron. “I got lost yesterday morning—trying to find you and the gold antechamber for cleaning. I ended up in some sitting room with connecting doors.” She swallowed hard. “The Empress and a duke were talking through an adjoining door. They didn’t notice me.”

Rebirth as a Wind Cultivator - Chapter 96: Fruit Mission

Xiulan pumped her legs faster, pushing herself to keep pace with Ming. The mountain road winded upward, quickly leaving tree, shrub, and grass behind. A constant pulse of qi ran through her meridians to maintain the exertion, otherwise she would have collapsed hours earlier.

“This is ridiculous,” Xiulan panted, glancing over her shoulder. Small beads of sweat dotted her crown but they were quickly wisped away by the passing air. “Missions shouldn’t require this much running.”<...

RaaWC Cover Sneak Peek

Work pretty much done on RaaWC 1's book cover. I really like it and wanted to share! Artist is https://www.fiverr.com/art_chamaleon

I'm still working on getting the typography right. Suggestions are welcome!

P.S. I am hoping to have some ShipCore A5 chapters done this week, too. So don't think I'm just purely focused on RaaWC!

Chapter 92: Practice Circles

Lin Xiulan stuffed the spirit egg into its padded cloth pouch, tucking the bag beneath her robes with a frustrated grunt. The egg pulsed warmly against her side, drawing a trickle of qi from her meridians even when she wasn’t actively feeding it.

“Just like a damn Tamagotchi,” she muttered, adjusting her robes to hide the slight bulge.

She paced her quarters, fingers drumming against her thigh. Getting booted from Elder Chang Liu’s comb...

Phoenix Rebirth - RaaWC Song

Okay I wanted to do one of these with more video so I tried out some of the new stuff.

...

It's still a fever dream, but it's easier to have more fever dream, although it took a bit of time to get the 3 minutes of clips.

With a lot more video editing talent and time I'm sure the results could be a lot better.

Maybe you'll find some enjoyment out of it, haha.

Rebirth as a Wind Cultivator - Chapter 91: Rivalry and Animosity

The smallest actions often reveal the truest character. A moment of impulsive kindness may accomplish what years of careful planning cannot. Watch not what people do when they have time to consider, but what they do when instinct alone guides their hand.

ShipCore A5 - Chapter 219 – Reverberations

USD: Eight days after mission start

Location: Gliese 1143Ab Low Orbit, Thea’s Hackjob, Alex’s Quarters

Alex slumped in her office chair, staring at the endless loading screen on her desk’s holographic monitor. The display offered no answers to her ethical dilemma.

The smart munitions had marked her first major ethical compromise. This new decision about creating purpose-built NAIs seemed minor in comparison.

ShipCore A4 is now out on Amazon!

Progress on A5 hasn't been going, but I'm intending to work on it again as the primary starting in Feb. (Yes, I've been on hiatus, and haven't updated since December, shit, where did the time go?)

Thankfully, I'm not dead!

Just wondering if I can get everything I started done before then, haha...

I've had some medical problems (with my eyes) and some health issues that made focusing hard. Mostly I celebrated the holidays with my family...

Chapter 24 – The Living Ink

Lin Yue’s boots clicked against the stone path leading to Ink House. The bloated moon stretched dark silhouettes across Blackspire’s grounds, twisting ancient trees and walls into grotesque shapes.

“Too many souls give me indigestion.” Shadow drooped beside her. “Need sleep.”

“Shut up.” Lin Yue slipped through the massive doors into the Ink House’s pavilion. Ink and ancient paper filled her nose—the signature scent of demonic...

The perpetual twilight of the demon market greeted Lin Yue as she stepped through the barrier. Familiar nausea rolled through her stomach from the realm shift.

“Weekly occurrence?” Lin Yue muttered, stepping over a severed arm.

Another barrage of stones ripped through the air, smacking against the ancient tree trunk. Splinters of bark exploded outward. Xiulan shifted her stance to guard her face and readied Severing Light.

“Earth element qi?” Xiulan gripped her weapon tighter.

Xiulan hummed while drawing precise strokes across the talisman paper. The kanji flowed from her brush in elegant patterns, each character more beautiful than any English letter she remembered from her past life.
