Wicked Game Bardcore Cover ft. Aaron Dolan on Uilleann Pipes!

I'm SO excited to share this cover with you all because I had the pleasure of working with Uilleann piper Aaron Dolan, who provided the pipes and whistles for this track. Also known as Irish Bagpipes, the Uilleann pipes are an Irish national treasure, and even if you've never heard the name before, you've probably heard them in a soundtrack (Titanic, for instance). Even Braveheart and Outlander, which are meant to be Scottish stories, used these distinctly Irish pipes.

*Edit: Due to a lyric error, I re-uploaded the video with the words fixed.

Thank you! It's a happy side effect of being in my 30s. XD

You had a great voice teacher! :)

Kermit the Hermit

I know that feeling, what a blast that piece is!

Kermit the Hermit

Your voice is just as angelic in the lower parts of your range.

Beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful. Also, I never knew that that song was called Wicked Game. Genuinely not to be nitpicky, but purely for if you'd want to adjust it for Youtube btw... at 2:11, you sing "To make me dream of thee", but the lyric on the video is "To let me dream of thee". If you know and it's fine then all good, but just for if not.

Misty Crom

A double lyricism - voice married to instrument.

Gabriel Olearnik

I hpe this is a preview of something that's going to go live because I want to share the hell out of this!

That would be incredible to see! Yes totally, I think that lyrical quality is why it's chosen so often for film music.

Every few years during our Liberation Day we get a few of the Scottish Regiments come through and that wall of sound is something that just grabs you and pulls you along. This though... Its almost like your singing a duet, they have their own pull one of mystery and wonder.

That really sounds like an incredible experience. I can kind of imagine the feeling in your ears having been singing Verdi's Requiem standing behind the brass section during the Tuba mirum. But those unique experiences last for a lifetime.

Yes, I think that's true. I do prefer the sound of Uilleann pipes, but I love the highland pipes for their power. I once had the incredible experience of singing with 20+ Scottish pipers. My ears were ringing but the Scottish part of my heart was full. :P

Uillean Pipes have this softer sound that suits itself better for more lyrical music and pair better with singing. 💜
