Next Chapter in the next Highlight
1- There's a lot to say about Orasac. The first is that the village does exist, but it's quite different from the description in the book. It has no central square, nor even a place of worship. In reality, it's just a few dozen houses scattered far apart around a road. Given the configuration of the village, I also think that the population figure is well below that announced in the book. My feeling is that this village was chosen because it's historically where the Serbs repelled the Turks (Ottoman Empire) in 1804, which echoes the campaign.
I therefore decided on a fictional village, closer to the book's description, and easier for everyone to imagine. There's a central square for the cigani ritual and the chicken attack at the end of the scenarios. You can see a church and there's an easy access to the mayor's and priest's houses.
2- The purpose of the priest's house and the mayor's house is to divide your group in 2.
The mayor's house is home to a large family gathered for meals. You'll need to find a place to sleep, but the welcome is very warm.
The priest's house is much emptier, as he has no children and lives only with his wife, Ana. It's no less lively, especially at night, as Ana talks to herself in the kitchen... (although she's actually talking to the rest of the Black Goat of the Wood Priestess Trinity).
3- The cigani camp is where you'll be warned. Although your players will probably have their doubts, as Ana, the priest's wife, will have strongly rebuked them.
4- Finally comes Baba Yaga's terrible thatched cottage. At first glance, it looks like a cute little house tucked away in the woods. But once Sedefkar's arm is found, the house is transformed into a living monster, and the maps show the inside and outside of this transformation. Good luck...
