Furry/Fandom content policy change
Added 2017-06-24 17:46:11 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
Today I added a feature to SFMLab that many people have asked for since the site has launched. Basically, all furry/anthro content is now hidden by default, similarly to how the NSFW filter works. This also includes content that falls into certain fandoms that are not necessarily considered furry by some, mainly My Little Pony and Five Nights at Freddy's.
If you haven't kept up, this basically covers most of the "controversial" content on SFMLab. Many people don't like to see these content types on SFMLab, while others would like to see much more. The comments sections on these uploads are often ablaze with incendiary remarks from both sides.
The new filter that's been added works the same as the old "NSFW" content filter that we've had since SFMLab's inception. If you upload content that falls into the categories outlined above, you can mark it as such. If you would like to view such content, simply enable it in your account settings. If you don't want to see this type of content, you can simply leave it as is, and you won't see any of it.
In a perfect world, I'd like to have a comprehensive tagging system that would allow anyone to filter any type of content based on multiple tags. Unfortunately, I did not have the foresight to implement such a system when first founding SFMLab. Going back and marking select uploads as "furry" is one thing, but implementing such a tag system and then tagging every file that's been uploaded to SFMLab is not really job that I'm looking forward to.
I hope this is a solution that is satisfactory both sides. On one hand this means the floodgates for furry shit are open, and on the other hand it means you have to opt-in to actually see any of it.
Thanks for using the site and thanks for your continued support.

Please, we all know the real reason to have this set up is to filter furry content with the most lame-arse and condescending warning

2017-10-25 21:29:04 +0000 UTCWilling to pledge 10 dollars a month to have this sodding warning reworded "This file is marked as furry/anthro content. By downloading this file you agree that you are in fact, a massive fa***t." Reaal classy there, mate.

2017-09-22 10:32:59 +0000 UTCHey SFM Lab! I wanted to suggest that you guys add a $1 pledge tier. I don't use SFM myself, but I'd gladly support you with $1. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. Who knows, in a couple of months you may end up with more $1 supporters than your current total :> Besides, you won't even have to bother setting up any rewards because the donation is minimal ^_^ Oh and you'll have more people joining your community and Discord server. More requests and feedback. More hype and subsequently, more Patreon supporters :>

2017-07-03 02:53:25 +0000 UTCIt's sad that you needed to put in this filter and that people can't just respect someone else's taste/kink/fetish.
