LIFE ADVICE AND BLOOMBURROW

I have removed the 7-10 day shipping delay on Bloomburrow Play.

Around 40 patrons are waiting on orders to ship that include Bloom play and all these orders have been filled and are ready to ship after the holiday weekend. (TUESDAY)

I expect faster shipping to resume starting next week since the holidays are over and weather conditions have improved.

I have placed a LIMIT of 3 BLOOMBURROW PLAY BOXES PER MONTH AT THIS TIME.

While i am NOT out of stock....I have around 1,200 boxes left right now.

Wizards of the coast is completly out and a reprint will take MONTHS.

We need to throttle this supply to prevent running out over the next 3-4 months.

~ SOME LIFE ADVICE ~

I have been doing this for almost 10 years on Youtube/Patreon.

I have seen a lot of "RUDY COPYCATS/PATRON STYLE ACCOUNTS" come and go over the last decard.

I have seen Markets go "TO THE MOON" and Bear markets wipe out stores into bankruptcy.

I have NEVER SEEN A MARKET like this for new products in my adult life.

I have never seen this level of demand for new magic boxes and new pokemon boxes.

The last time it felt like this was Pokemon in 1999.

2021 was a bubble and all data points can confirm that.

This is truely historic and i dont believe it is a bubble. I feel this is textbook of a new era and the formation of a new environment for MTG/Pokemon.

The market conditions with "RIPnSHIP" streamers are changing the sealed pokemon market forever.

Wizards shift in management and "ANTI-GAMEPIECE ARMY" attitude is extremly powerful.

Many patrons have not been around long term with me and have never felt extreme market conditions like this. Many younger people are led by emotions and excitement which leads to fast decisions that are usually poorly thought out and regretted the next day once the brain resets.

When we enter new eras, they feel weird / intense and concerning due to the fast pace of "re-pricing" going on. Boxes/cards that have been cheap or flat will swing wildly as collectors/investors realize they are mis-priced.

I have spent a LOT of time thinking and watching everything in the last couple months and my conclusion is the world of Magic/Pokemon is evolving right now into a new normal.

Pokemon Booster boxes should have never been $95-$99 shipped and Magic Collector boxes should have never been under $200.

I feel the market is more accurate now.

Based on the cost of living/inflation and the absolute destruction/devaluation of the US Dollar Sealed boxes were incorrectly priced too low.

The problem isnt boxes are too expensive today, the problem WAS boxes were too cheap before and now it "FEELS BAD"

Boxes dont care how we feel, and dont care about our emotions.

Time is the variable that is needed for markets to recalibrate, and they did.

They did...very aggressivly...and very quickly.

Both of these are ingredients for anger from humans who dont like change.

Lastly, i feel the RISE IN VINTAGE MAGIC will mark the end of the bull market for modern magic. This data point will be confirmed when the "ABOLISH THE RESERVED LIST" social media posts startup again. I dont believe we can have both at the same time. Its not possible.

In tug-o-war only 1 side can be winning at a time.

Bull markets create Timmy's.

Bear markets create Legends.

Thanks again to the best patron army ever created.

Thanks so much for the reply man, i had full faith, i was genuinely curious though, good to know the scan thing now too, wasnt sure about that.

Justin DePaola

Just because you don't see a scan, doesn't mean it hasn't shipped, please be patient

Rudy The Magic Guy

My shipping label was created on the 10th, still not scanned in as of yesterday, im assuming maybe today?

Justin DePaola

I see where you’re coming from. Lottery-like mentality.

Robert S

I saw a good Pokémon video where he mentions vintage Pokémon mostly being supported in the media by a small group. I wonder how the data shows where generations passed away in baseball card collecting, if at all? With those two points in mind, what keeps vintage Magic on top? I feel like vintage is an Alpha for some, Return to Ravnica for others. Whatever your entry point is, isn’t that your nostalgia? That’s what Alpha players nostalgia is. Isn’t vintage Magic up against the viewpoint of new Magic players?

Robert S

Rudy it’s time for a long form YouTube video with your best evergreen advice about investing in sealed Pokémon product. Maybe film inside a Chick Fila on Sunday.

KAI HICKS

I think it depends on if they are releasing in waves, if printers still have orders to manufacture, but since this is a remastered product they don't need it for standard formats. I'd give it a 20% of going down and a 80% chance of staying 160-190 for a few months then slowly going up? Anyone's guess.

Lain Fowle

Dang; do yall think innistrad play boxes will go down by the time they get released? I aint buying it at $170 on TCG, i was comfy at $120-$150... smh.

Ryan BEN

I would just be angry someone is opening my pack. It is the best part of the experience. I just will never get it. And not sending all the cards. That would give me less incentive to do it.

BrewCrew75

If pokemon gen 10 is a hit then this machine should chug along strongly for the forseeable future. Pokemon can turn if they release a series of bad sets or a new generation is rejected.

Matt Vanselow

I don’t have as much information and this is probably why my opinion is different but from viral people behavior in stores etc, to me it looks like covid era. But you can argue that this time, no free money is supporting the purchase. Are people genuinely wanting to play or collect the game ? Are people so desperate and in need of money that they rush towards any promise or hint of financial gain ? I may be too pessimistic, I don’t know

Julien Idais

Some people enjoying watching; makes them excited

Aaron

I think we were referring to streamers who open the packs live on stream. But yeah I know what you mean.

Travis Knight

Luca De Angelis

Umm. Rudy rips and ships. And before collector boxes he only shipped the rares back.

You can check the pinned post for January’s list of product.

Long time watcher on YouTube and first time Patreon subscriber. This may seem like an dumb question, but how do I get a list

Michael Burrier

The Rudy perspective posts and videos are always my favorites. Been watching for years now and probably will until he calls it quits. Keep doing your thing taco king 🌮

Zackary Sharp

What’s even crazier is some of the rip and ship streamers don’t send you all the cards. They only send you what’s in the rare slots of the pack. They charge less but keep all the bulk to sell themselves I guess.

Travis Knight

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Jack Ma

Hoping for the best, always expecting the worst, and being indifferent to whatever the outcome is.

Serge Soucy

Hmm. Felt like the old mid month updates. Thanks for the insight. Have a great weekend Rudy.

Anthony Paramo

I honestly don’t understand why people like letting other people open packs for them. Never understood it. It is like letting someone else take a turn at your step sister stuck in the washer. All seriousness, I just don’t get it. On the Vintage front, I hope the market stays down long enough form me to complete some of these older sets. I am close on a couple of them.

BrewCrew75

I think part of the reason vintage Magic is so expensive is because their power level has gone way up as the game grew (see the power 9). However, Wizards has thrown the fear of power creep out the window, and the new cards are eclipsing the vintage ones. That pushes up the demand on new cards as they make their way into formats like Vintage and Legacy.

Tzu-Chi Hsu

As if one hugely expensive, iconic power nine card is all of Vintage Magic?

Kevin

Luca Rovaldi

depends on what printing, its no different from an antique statue or painting, its rare and a piece of history and there will only ever be less and less of them as time happens. Not saying its affordable, it isnt meant to be

Lusiriz Ruiz (Small Azalea)

Great post Rudy thanks for thinking of us new collectors. Question, is set collecting still dead? Is it better to leave all products sealed, or crack packs? I was pondering leaving half sealed and cracking the other half of what I purchase.

Neil Shivelle

appreciate the advice rudy.

Glad I ordered bloomburrow early, wasn’t gonna make the same mistake with wilds

That's when you know the bull market is in full bloom. Wouldn't be surprised if we suddenly see it spill over into stuff like FaB and Weiss

Derek

Vintage magic is cheap now for anyone who wants the cards. Don't sleep on it. Get them now.

Derek

Thank you as always Rudy for your honesty and guidance!!

Mark Rivinius

I feel like we are all on this pirate ship finding so much gold and Rudy is our Captain with the treasure map.

Justin Yerace

it does feel like 1999. Buckle up. The drop is going to be scary.

Jeremy Hanson

We really appreciate all that you do Rudy. I am a newer patron and I'm not going anywhere. I regret not finding you years ago, actually. Robert - Washington State.

Lyin Eyes

Was just thinking of ordering a case of Bloomburrow play the other day but decided to wait another week lol. Maybe I’ll get Duskmourn for the other three. Is “thinking too much” a thing with purchasing in a bull market? Or would you still preach extreme caution across the board?

Keith Krimm

These market updates and introspection are greatly appreciated! Beautiful time to be alive!

Lain Fowle

Had to place another order for Bloomburrow. Supplies are getting low! Thanks for the heads-up, Rudy👍

Catishness is still in question, but lots of useful information worthy of publication in Dog Fancy magazine. 2025 is going to be fun. ;)

"Bull markets create Timmy's. Bear markets create Legends." I need this on a T- Shirt!

Rafael Pina

But how does this affect LeBron legacy? I'm going to miss the era of modern pkmn boosters box's for sub $100.

I don't see any flaws in your argument for what's to come in the TCG world. As a player and collector of Magic and someone with a well above average income, I can take the price increases and still play with the cards I want from new releases. This is not going to be true for everyone though. I don't have any data for what income groups are doing when prices increase, I worry that there will be an exit point for a large portion of Magic players. Is that near? I have literally have no idea. I do enjoy my property mainting value against inflation, so Im not unhappy with my purchases. I have bought less sealed lately though and began to shift into singles. Hopefully Wizards knows where the line is and doesn't find out that they are squeezing too many players out. I am still spending money, so I'm betting the answer is no, but I'm still concerned.

This is going to leaked into other games. When people get priced out of magic and pokemon they'll slowly trickle elsewhere. Just takes time. Gonna be an interesting year.
