~ June 2022 Mid - Month Updates ~

Well....this is going to be a raw and nasty update post.

Due to a large percentage of patrons asking financial questions and showing a lot of conerns....lets talk about it.

Market conditions in all asset classes have deteriorated very quickly.

I believe we are within 90 days of a market bottom across the board.

I believe this is a GOOD THING.

The extreme amount of profit generated from Crypto/Stocks/Collectibles was the highest in history causing everyone to overspend and behave with excessive confidence towards the future.....and that was the tipping point for inflation.

I believe the LARGE AMOUNT OF WEALTH DESTRUCTION OCCURING IS NEEDED TO COOL OFF INFLATION.

I spent a lot of time studying the 1980's inflationary era with Paul Volcker in my college years. Everyone should read about this era.

I personally do not believe the 1980's will repeat, we are in a digital fast paced era of social media. I believe mild layoffs and cost cutting from companies will occur, but i dont see the unemployment rate skyrocketing causing a long term recession.

The consumer is scared and afraid.

The consumer has already cut back.

The fed has shown the balls to perform fast and hardcore interest rate increases. This is fantastic and will work to throw cold water on an overheated economy.

Lets talk about cardboard...

Secondary market prices right now are so distorted from true value, it is almost pathetic.

Distributors / Store Owners / Collectors / Investors / Players.....are all feeling the cash crunch of rising rates and the public spending less on each product.

We are seeing extreme levels of downward pressure on all collectibles due to the need to raise cash and pay bills/inflation and the next product release.

Only a few times in my life i have seen moments were everything looks underpriced and a screaming long term opportunity.

This is one of those moments.

Absolutly NOBODY is building positions and keeping sealed product from all these sets. Internal patron data shows the lowest amount of patrons buying MTG product since the 2017 Iconic masters / Amonkhet era.

EVERY single LGS is trying to stay in business and stay liquid. NO STORE is keeping sealed product from any set. It is the greatest reversal and confidence loss i have seen in the 6.9 years i have been on youtube.

Simliar to 2001,2008,2017,2020....2022 is probably the worst. 

It feels to me the entire MTG market has given up and people will laugh at you for holding sealed boxes.

Magic the Gathering continues to be very very successful. No matter what social media and secondary market prices are currently reflecting, Magic is doing VERY WELL.

Prices on all 2021/2022 era products will recover FASTER than the market expects.

Wizards is going to cutoff restock/reprints at a faster pace, this is going to accelerate the recovery in 2023/2024

Rumors are already moving in distribution that Crimson Vow/Midnight Hunt are not being reprinted at all and whatever is left in the warehouse is it. This is the same process that Hour of Devastation / Rivals of Ixalan went through.

Commander Legends 2 - I expect the same path that Iconic masters and Conspiracy 2 took in the past. Stores are so desparate to pay distribution for the upcoming Double masters, they are being forced to sell at any price or risk getting ZERO double masters. This has distorted the prices. 

I predict this is will be looked back as one of the most mis-understood and poorly timed product releases in mtg history. I predict wizards cuts off the print run of draft/set boxes early.

Commander legends will age very well, and most people will miss out....like always.

Double Masters 2 - This is the 1st magic set in history to launch the new TEXTURED magic card. It is 1st to market and will be very tough to pull. This is going to make this product very high demand. 

I expect the pricing to be insane and VOLATILE. Many stores are going to get cut hard on supply due to not taking allocation on Commander legends.

Distribution is going to allocate this item based on previous quarter spending sales and Commander legends spending.

So be very careful if you are doing preorders at this time, no distributor has given firm numbers and pricing yet.

Historically Master sets age very well. There is no historical data on any master set failing long term...ever.

Flesh and Blood - Uprising - Supply has been tightened and the public is genuinly excited for uprising and the hunt for cold foils and Marvel cards. I think the removal of 1st / unlimited boxes is going to be successful at this point in time. 

It is starting to feel like we will look back in the future and laugh at the beginings of FaB....becuase it was insane....dumb....reckless....and poorly manipulated at the distribution level.

The Fab Market remains packed with players and collectors...with almost no investors left. I know many "whales" from the early FaB days, who refuse to place any large amounts fo money into the game unless Uprising can prove to hold its value and be successful with proper print run managment.

Metazoo - UFO - I am already getting a lot of patrons asking for details on this promo kit. This is going to be a big and important release for the zoo. 

Overall, with secret/hidden things in the set, i expect it to be very successful.

This will be the best priced Metazoo Bundle ever offered at around $299-$399 shipped price range. This includes 2 of everything + all the promos. It will be the best package offered in  the country on this product line.

6.9 Year Anniv Box - Many patrons are suggesting i hold the release until the holidays, but at this time, It is on hold until the world and market calm down. I still think around August/September might be a good time.

I have also decided to reduce the price and restructure the items in it. I am no longer going to stick with the 699.69 price point to fit the theme. I would like the price to be cheaper at around $399-$499 range.

Honest Summary....

Products being released today are of good quality and have unique charactoristics.

They will be considered out of print and "rare" in the future.

People all over the world love and desire there favorite CCG's.

The fundamentals are the same. 

Nothing has changed.

MANY LONGER TERM PATRONS HAVE DONE INCREDIBLY WELL IN TIMES LIKE THIS.

THESE ARE THE MOMENTS WHEN WEALTH IS TRANSFERRED.

WE ARE IN FOR A CRUEL SUMMER AND ITS GOING TO BE VOLATILE. 

THINGS ARE NOT GOING TO ZERO.

THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMOROW
