Friday Night Special - 2020 Theros Pre-Release Kits

I love prerelease kits. I'll pick up one every week or two at my LGS. They're always $25. I would consider getting a case if it was a better value ($20-22), as is, I'd rather buy different sets at $25 than 18 of that same one since cost is the same. They're fun to play with friends.

I’m with you Eric, it would be crazy to think that Rudy should be selling products below market value in the first place. What I appreciate about this patreon is that I trust in the integrity of the person I’m purchasing from. I know that what I’m purchasing will in fact be what I receive, untampered. That is the largest concern I have with every other marketplace, the unknown. eBay, tcg player, Mercari, heck even amazon (thru the return system) are all filled with people that want to tip the scales in their favor. Resealed trash, searched and filtered, non shipping buyers and stolen goods are all too prevalent in these other marketplaces. I appreciate having a marketplace I can trust and that adds value to each of my purchases.

I will say this as someone not buying this sale. I wish I could buy them all, but that's not possible. However, I'm not expecting free tendies when I do. I'm expecting a clean, quality transaction for exactly what I'm expecting to receive. And aside from carrier issues, that's what I've always gotten. That's worth a seller premium to me. Some sales are under market some at and some above. Expecting pricing to be below the sketchiest listing online is ridiculous. Keep up the good work Rudy, those of us around long enough appreciate you for reality, not this BS scam fantasy land some people brew negativity in.

Man... on Aug. 27th 2021, I bought a Factory Case Sealed Zendikar Rising Pre-Release kit with 18 kits inside for $160 total out the door... Where are people buying theres at? Are you paying $500+ for these? That's insane!!! Wonder what the Zendikar Rising are going for today?

Before that... On Oct. 15th, 2021, I bought my first case of Theros Pre-Release kits, same as what you're flipping here for $187.60 out the door!!!! Did the market go up 3x fold on these kits in the last few months???

Very tempting. The deal itself is solid and I think Theros was a solid product, but with so many products (MtG/MZ/FaB/Weiss) it is a little too much for me to commit to prerelease kits. I understand the added security of getting the whole case; but if it had been a 'prerelease through time' with 4-6 kits per set I'd jump on that: but that is a lot of extra work no doubt putting those together.

Before I get torched, I though this was original Theros. Even so, this price is still market and you’re getting a sealed case. Still a pretty solid purchase IMO

Am I missing something? Rudy is selling these for under $25 a kit. This is well below market. This is a no-brainer, especially if you plan on sitting on the sealed case. Crack that wallet and dish out the chedda homies

After hearing for like a year about what a great deal Rudy got PR kits for the Patrons, I was expecting some kind of... great deal? Now I can miss two prereleases 💔

Wow, lot of pessimism about the kits. I was just about to comment on how Rudy bought all those prerelease kits and talked about it in a video (don't know what kits he got lol). Sad to say I'm pessimistic myself but it's cheap and there's a lot of them so I'm going for it.

As an honest answer, in 12-18 months i believe these cases will be around $1,000 each. As a sealed product, there is tremendous opportunity, but most people will not touch it.

This is for theros beyond death right? Just wanted to clarify because I wasn't buying magic at original theros. TBD cases are 370 on the market for me. Don't know about original theros.

No sir, at this time, each set will be sold by the case. The feedback from the previous "variety prerelease kit" from the patrons was not as positive. Most patrons want the sealed cases due to the promo cards and distribution of value
