Black Friday - Metazoo - The theme decks finally showed up, the goal is to make some variety kits with 2 x nightfall booster boxes + 5 theme decks + promo items + Leftover playmat.
The biggest problem is the supply is low at around 250 kits. The goal is to keep it in stock for 30 minutes. This is the last of the 1st edition nightfall items.
First come First serve on friday night. No need to comment on the sale.
Flesh and Blood Tales of Aria Unlimited Bundle - The first wave of 300-400 kits are long gone from a couple days ago. The next wave will be in a month for another 300-400 kits. LSS is being more conservative on the supply with sealed product.
Pokemon - No further pokemon sales will occur from me at this time. The last waves of Battle Styles, Chilling Reign, Evolving skies are flowing into the market, and stores across the country are panic selling and prices have collapsed since everyone is trying to raise capital into the holidays.
Chilling Reign at $82 +Tax on tcgplayer. 3 of 5 distributors in the USA sell pokemon boxes at $83-89 a box. I would recomend purchasing on the open market and not from me. The loses would be high for me to be competitive and undercut and sell in the $70's per box
This is exactly what happened to me in 2018 on selling pokemon sealed boxes and created the Rudy Pokemon bathroom.
Im going to keep my supply and send it to the back of the warehouse until the market stabilizes. Could be years. Currently have 600 boxes of every set.
Weiss - If you do NOT have exposure to some of the sealed boxes of Weiss from the last 9 months, some stores are unloading all positions right now into the holidays with incredible pricing on tcgplayer. I would recomend the diversification.
Force of will - The new set coming in December is going to be a disaster. Apparently printing problems occures and at this time, i am NOT going to be able to offer this item to patrons. Instead of a pallet of 600 boxes, i am only recieving around 36 boxes :-(
2021 T-Shirts - We are dealing with some major problems with the 2021 Alpha investment shirts at this time due to mistakes at the printer. They were supposed to go on sale this week. Now targeting 2 weeks from now :-(
Magic The Gathering - Wizards is fully aware of the weakness in the general market with Set boxes and collector boxes. Wizards is fully aware of the massive profit machine they have created with secret lairs. I expect the future to contain more full "sets" and full "commander Decks" all coming from secret lairs. At this point in time, there is a real chance magic could almost go EXCLUSIVLY with secret lairs and eliminate all products in the future. I expect more full decks and randomized products to start flowing through the secret lair business model. I also expect more stores to continue to show anger and reducing exposure to mtg at this time.
I also believe 2022 will contain higher gamblers premium style products with the return of VERY RARE chase cards so wizards attempts to regain confidence and money from investors.
NEW CCG's + KICKSTARTER - Use extreme caution moving into 2022. We are in the middle of a huge frenzy of new card games and everyone is throwing tons of money at every startup on kickstarter. This is what happened in the mid 90's after magic became successful. 95% of these new companies will fail within the next couple years. USE EXTREME CAUTION.
Most of these start-ups are being ran by individuals with no major experience, no capital, no distribution, and no idea what they are doing or how they will navigate the long term challenges in this industry.
Remember, i dont care about how "cool" the cards look. A startup company is all about the management and people running the company.
I expect substantial loses in most of these kickstarter CCG's in the coming years. But i expect substanial gains from a couple of them. I have clearly placed my confidence in FaB and metazoo. I have spoken and had discussiosn with about 4 other CCG's and most of them have no idea what they are doing.
Short and sweet this month.
Conclusion - Market - The market and the patrons continue to be most excited about NON-magic related items. In the 6 years i have done this, more patrons are discussing non-mtg items than ever before. This is a reflection of where the excitment is currently and where the flow of money is going. I do believe wizards has taken notice and is going to come in strong and hardcore in 2022.
Conclusion - Alpha Investments - Myself - I feel as metazoo and Flesh and blood become more mature, we will continue to see a growing voice of people not happy with my "influence" or involvement with the games. This is a natural response for anyone with an emotional connection to a product/brand. They love the idea of a CCG being successful, but then tend to want want to "remove" the person for further influence. This happens a lot in branding. At this time, i have no plans to stop working directly with FaB or Metazoo. Kits and promo items will continue and are planned for all of 2022.
I expect many short term thinking patrons who have discovered me to create more aggressive opinions based on how the price movements of the products i sell swing in the short term. This is normal for people unfamiliar with this industry long term.
I expect to see more feedback around the topic of "i cant flip this for immediate profit" to be brought up as the market continues to cool off and calm down. The complexity of getting large supply of hard to get items and pricing power is a very complicated topic and it is impossible for me to always negociate for the best price.
Remember, short term Timmy's who flip products tend to move on in life within 1 year. They never stay in the same industry past a couple years. I still beleive it takes 10 years of commitment in this world to become an actual expert in a field of study.
There has NEVER been a better time in history with more opportunity in life and we are truely in a golden age of card games right now.

Or Wizards will nuke draft boxes, collector boxes, etc. (and MTG as we know it) entirely (profit margin too low on those items)?

LGSs who were allocated stuff that took months to gets need to pay for this stuff as fast as possible to pay off Credit Cards. LGSs accept the product because declining product they already agreed to buy is NOT GOOD for the relationship with their distributor. They normally get a small wave every month or 2 which gives them time to sell and pay off credit cards, well this time they got 8+ months worth of product at 1 time and need to pay for all of it now, and they need to sell it asap before Credit Card interest stars racking up. Prices now are great for investors, and players, but not for LGSs it's a race to the bottom.

It's going to be a FANTASTIC set because it has industry favorite Pokemon in it and it will have cards that are normally saved for a Special Set in it. I think this is DONT MISS THIS SET kind of thing or you'll have regrets for not getting on it. So sincerely consider doing one more set so you can get a better quality set of Pokemon in your vault. I believe Brilliant Stars will hold great value long term.

TCGplayer should stop listing the low price on the front page if it’s not including shipping kinda deceptive but I guess it gets a click. Did Pokémon just over print or what’s causing the mass drop? I got a volcanic island, tropical island, and underground sea. Maybe I’m a Timmy for getting rid of MetaZoo now, but I completely avoided eBay fees and taxes with this transaction. I still have my MetaZoo sample card and the Rudy promo and all my singles, which I like more anyways.
