Added 2021-10-20 00:20:19 +0000 UTCAll purchasers of the $1k Gemkeeper card will recieve the "OPTION" of a discount on future Flesh and Blood Promotional kits.
The discount is = $69.00 on each FaB promotional kit.
Essentially, you own a piece of the games history and the card will be giving you a "rebate/discount" on future Promo kits.
- If you purchased 1 or 2 Gemkeeper cards, the $69.00 discount is the same and can only be used once per promotional kit, it does not "stack" the discount.
- Yes you can recieve the $69.00 discount on every single Promotional kit for flesh and blood until futher notice.
- The discount does NOT apply to normal box purchasing or normal case purchasing.
- No, if you choose to not purchase a kit, the discount does not accure for extra value or future use.
- No, if you sell the card to someone else, they do NOT get the benefit if they are a patron.
- The benefit is NOT transferable.
The theory is, as long as you stay a patron and love to buy Flesh and blood, you will continue to get future discounts on promo kits for FaB.
This will essentially rebate most of the money you paid for the gemkeeper card as time goes on, if you choose to continue to be a FaB Fan.
Sometimes the biggest risk in life, is not taking a risk.

So while Monarch and Tales of Aria (small kit) had the exact same contents -- 2 booster boxes, 1 playmat, 1 promo card -- Monarch cost $1000 while ToA cost $350..... because at the time 1st ed. boxes were going for about $450-$600 and $120-$150 respectively.

I was late to the FaB scene, not getting in till the Monarch kit, but I love FaB and want to keep collecting and buying future kits (funds permitting, of course). The thing is, I'm not in love with promo cards of that type, and Rudy's advice has always been to only buy in on what you have a passion for. So I didn't buy it, even though I could have and even though I love FaB outside of promos like that. And thus I missed out on a great long-term deal for something I love by not purchasing something I didn't love. Kind of an ironic bummer! LoL And that's why I hope he finds other ways to reward loyal FaB supporters. Can't really call myself that yet, since I've only bought two kits so far. But I hope to be considered a part of that group down the road!

But I have no interest in pure collector-piece, unplayable cards like that, not just in FaB but in any game. I find it unfortunate that the deals on the items I *do* want to buy are exclusively tied to a onetime offering of an item I *don't* want. And the implication that you're not a true collector of FaB unless you proved it by buying this promo card doesn't sit well with me. But really it's fine, because none of us were actually needing a better deal on FaB -- Rudy already gives a good deal. I just hope that this move doesn't turn into the promo kits becoming *less* of a good deal for us Tin and Aluminum patrons in order to accommodate the deal for the Gem Keepers.....

I consider Rudy a friend as I have been watching & learning from him for years. But what's to stop the flippers from flipping the card now?
