Rudy, I know you have a lot going on, however I hope you allow a few days for people such as myself who sometimes run at a slower pace; E.G., I commented interest on the last sale, and just got distracted with life and didn't get around to seeing the reply for a couple days. It looks like a few others have mentioned 48hour, which is fairly reasonable, I'd hope you still send out a PM "Pay out or Stay out" before dropping a patron. XD

Have you considered having a website built for sales? I would think this would this would make it easier to manage and force someone to pay immediately. You could lock out sales with a password for Patreons as an extra security step. Plus you could get extra sales from non-patreons on other items in addition to ebay.

But what if my cat comments to buy a box of candy from Rudy the cat? Feline friendship and all?

Totally for this move, I have always paid immediately, regardless. The patron sales are a contract. If you can’t/won’t pay, you need to reconsider your maturity and whether it’s beneficial to your lifestyle to pay for access to things that you’re situation can’t afford, and how you can get there if you want to. I would say if you’re backing out of these, and your payment is tied to credit rather than a a cash account dedicated for opportunity, you’re not quite there yet and it’s better to just back off and Rudy is doing you a favor here.

Tbh some sales have FOMO rhetoric in them so I'm not surprised that people have second thoughts sometimes. That's not throwing shade, that's just me stating what I see.

48 hours to pay for your reserved product or to make sure that a declined payment problem is sorted out seems quite fair. There are work/IRL things that can prevent someone from sending payment immediately, and having 48 hours available to take care of it should be reasonable enough for people to send payment when life and such prevents them from paying as soon as they're told they can. I've not always been able to check for a go-ahead reply and pay immediately as I recall so can appreciate that I'm given some time to get things taken care of. And as payment mishaps & mistake certainly happen 48 hours should also be plenty of time to get that sorted out too. 24% backout/non-payment rate is disgusting. Good on you Rudy doing something about that.

I got to admit that's really harsh refused payments might be an error and unknown to the patron I think it depends. Give everyone 1 chance and then next time boot them. Also how long have they been a patron 1month 1 year 2 year sometime you got to give people the benefit of the doubt. Also the way specials go they're almost always impulse buys because of fomo. Long story short if they have a history of this sort of behavior boot them right away if not 1 chance.

You give people 48 hours? Rudy my boy...people like me with busy lives literally set alarms and warn family/friends that making plans at 8:59pm est Friday night is a no go. You should give them three hours after sale launch tops. Let people know while we are interested in the item. In most cases a real buyer will emerge and scoop the goods. Cut the weak links.

If you comment on a post to reserve and Rudy responds that you can send payment, does Patreon send an email notification about the response? Or do you actually need to log in to Patreon to check? Never had anyone respond to a comment i left on patreon before so just checking.

That's understandable Rudy. I wanted some set boosters on that last sale but wasn't able to get to them. I also think you should limit it to one case per patron. Yeah some whales can buy more but if they can throw that kind of cash around they can just buy on the open market for a few bucks more. The patreon should be about everyone being able to get a chance as much as possible.

24% is catastrophic. As Rudy has mentioned in multiple videos regarding EBay and physical stores prudent planning and law of large numbers give you a 1-5% fraud/shrinkage/etc/etc over time rate, 1/4 for metazoo would be $25,000 or innistrad would be 50,000 That does more than wipe out potential profit, it locks up cash flow. And I don't care who you are $75,000 is a lot of money.

FYI the last 3 "comment to hold your spot sales" were Midnight Hunt Collector Boxes, Midnight Hunt set boxes and the Weiss sale back on Sept 12th so people asking about Metazoo and the like.. It's not about those boxes. Definitely understandable given all the cancellations. I was thinking about canceling this past sale because my friend who is also a Patron wanted to split a box and misheard who should buy the box. I ended up deciding to just buy my reservation as well because I wanted collector's boxes and since I could afford it, I'd rather keep my word rather than having to tell Rudy to cancel my order. Rudy has the right to complain since he's the one who has to keep track of all the payments/boxes and I bet it is annoying to deal with... but anyone complaining that they themselves could not get a box.. were probably real late to the party. The last 3 "comment to hold your spot" sales didn't exactly sell out immediately so I bet the issue was that when it did eventually sell out, there were people who wanted boxes still but because all the spots eventually were reserved, Rudy couldn't sell it to them only to find out a couple days later that that someone backed out. It would be nice if there was a kind of one-time back out policy, but I understand where Rudy is coming from. I'm guessing a lot of people abused the system and left him out to dry too many times. Really sucks that ~25% of the people end up not paying.
