Hi everyone, here's a preview of the Mounted Teutonic Sergeants, coming soon for March:
In medieval religious military orders such as the Templars or the Teutonic Knights, sergeants were integral members of the organization, playing crucial roles in supporting its activities. These individuals, while lacking the noble status of knights, fulfilled various responsibilities within the order's hierarchy. Sergeants were typically recruited from commoner backgrounds, often coming from peasant...

Hi everyone, here's the first part of the March release! As more characters were requested here we have Hermann von Salza, the Hochmeister of the Teutonic Order during the Prussian crusade.
This kit includes:
- 2 bodies (with/without helmet)
- 1 horse
- 1 lance
During the Prussian Crusade, Hermann von Salza emerged as a pivotal figure: as the Grand Master of the Teuto...

Hi all, I'm already thinking about what we could do for the next release.
I was thinking on doing a single unit so that I can focus on a couple of characters for the Teutonic order, namely Hermann von Salza and a couple of retainers.
Along with them I thought could come a unit of mounted sergeants. Below you will find links to some images to give you an idea of what I'm thinking: one is a quick paintover I did while the other a picture of some reenactors I found online.

Hi all, the February release is here and it focuses on the Prussian tribes:
The Prussians, also known as Baltic Prussians or Old Prussians, were a tribe within the Baltic peoples who inhabited the region of Prussia along the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea, situated between the Vistula Lagoon to the west and the Curonian Lagoon to the east. They spoke an Indo-European language called Old Prussian and practiced pre-Christian religious beliefs.
The initial attempts ...

As hunting was a primary form of sustenance in the medieval Baltic region, tanning was a common profession: tanners were craftsmen skilled in preparing and treating animal skins, in turn providing them to cobblers, saddlers, and other artisans for making various items like footwear, garments, bags, and wineskins.
Though necessary, tanning was an unpleasant job. It involved quickly removing fat from the skin and preserving it to prevent decay, o...

Hi guys, here's a preview of the Prussian archers for the next release coming out in the next few days. The bow held significant importance in the Baltic regions, particularly among the hunting communities in these less populated areas. It served as both a weapon of war and a tool for survival in challenging climates. Unlike Scandinavia or Continental Europe though, the crossbow didn't gain as much popularity here among the locals. Though not well-represent...

I'm starting a new series of posts where I'm going to update most of my models to fix historical inaccuracies and optimize some parts that can result in a better printing experience.
To begin, I'm updating the mounted teutonic knights: I'm removing all round top enclosed helmets, since pictorial sources of the 13th century depict flat top enclosed helmets, and the same goes for the great helms; at the same time I'm tightening the slits for the ...

Hi guys, here are the changes I was talking about yesterday: since the riders looked a bit too rus, I decided to switch the noseguard for the baltic visor.
I think this way their baltic origin is clearer and there's less ground for misinterpretation, since I plan on also making kievan rus warriors in the coming future.
Let me know what you think.

Hi everyone, here's a preview of the Prussian cavalry for February.
Historical sources are scarce for any of the Baltic states in the 13th century, but there are some points we can take into consideration while designing some of their equipment: for example, we know that the baltic region experienced influences from Russia and from the Eastern steppes that weren't felt in other parts of Europe.
For this reason, I decided to go with variations on a dome-shaped helmet fr...

Hi everyone, here's the poll for the february release. This time we'll focus on some of the pagan forces. To do that, I'm not including western units otherwise they would surely win again, but you can still pick between one of the following:

Hi everyone, the January release is finally here, and it focuses on a highly requested unit: 13th century Teutonic Knights on foot with winged greathelms and two handed weapons.
Evidence of two handed weapons in use during the 13th century is scarce, since armor wasn't yet that advanced to justify not using shields, but my research into this topic led me to the faussart: the faussart is a long-bladed, two-handed weapon, sometimes referred to as a warbrand (by modern reproduc...

I wanted to thank you for your continued support even when I wasn't here, I highly appreciate it and hope I can repay it going forward.

Hi guys,
I'm sick for the second time this month, so unfortunately the January release will have to be postponed a bit.
I'm very sorry about this, hopefully though I can get back to work as soon as possible.
Hope that you're having better holidays than me.
Talk to you soon.

Hi guys, so the Teutonic Knights won overwhelmingly once again, so the january release will consist of the Teutonic Knights on foot with winged greathelms and faussarts. As I anticipated before, it's now time to decide if you would like them to have capes or not. Thank you for your input.

Hi everyone, the December release is here, and it's all about Polish knights and crusaders during the 13th century and more specifically the Prussian Crusade:
While many medieval scholars are aware of the Scandinavian and German crusades in the Baltic, Poland's contributions often remain overlooked. The medieval era proved challenging for the Polish kingdom, marked by the division of dynastic lands leading to perpetual rivalries. Krakow fell victim to Mongol invasions, Lithuanian pagans...

Hi everyone, here's a preview of the Polish Knights for November. Taking inspiration from the illuminated Morgan-Maciejowski Bible, I've introduced a new helmet design. In addition to this one, some of the other knights will be sporting variations of flat-top greathelms. This round I've also opted for a more tailored and fitted surcoat. Would love to hear your thoughts on this one!

7 Teutonic Crossbowmen join the October release, coming soon at the end of the month!
The Teutonic Crossbowmen played a pivotal role during the Prussian Crusade in the 13th century. These skilled and disciplined marksmen were instrumental in the success of the campaign. Here's another one of the Knights coming in the next release. Following feedback I received from you guys, I want to start focusing a bit more on modularity, so this kit will be more modular than usual: each knight is composed by rider (10), horse (10), lance and shield, all separate pieces.
This will allow you to print even larger armies and still maintain variety throughout the ranks. Furthermore, the knights have been designed with formation in mind: so...

In the Baltic Crusades, most of the combat took place within a region characterized by deciduous forests, heathland, and marshes. These Baltic forests, with their thick underbrush, differed significantly from th...
