I actually feel the opposite. I think they'll age tremendously well. I only buy new product for myself (I buy a lot of everything to invest) if it's a commander precon or something I can draft.

I'm pretty sure Draft booster boxes from Zendikar Rising and beyond are DOA and will be the hardest to recoup an investment for unless they have a unique box Topper or something. Set Collector is the future, and Collector boxes.

This might be a death knell to my subscription to Rudy's Patreon, low cost Standard boxes are what I was here for, my LGS sells me Set Boxes, and Collector for cheaper than Rudy, and we do FB pay deals to avoid paying sales tax.

More money/more money. That is the long and short of it WOTC will be making money. Inflation wise Magic hasn't grown much through the years. They were $2.50 a pack then, and with Rudy $82 per box then about $2.50 now. WOTC is forced to charge more because of freight and ironically competition of printing facilities. Cheap magic is going to the wayside.

I would have ordered early May but it was KO'ed by FaB. Usually order end of month but after Theros was short changed 1 month, decided there was risk in that.

Yeah, this makes sense with all the new product that is perpetually released, but it's so disappointing. They're tired of people buying year-old draft boosters. I feel like they're cattle prodding me into buying the new stuff.

Amazon sells it at retail prices same as your LGS would sell them for. This just means Rudy will not carry them at $82 which happens not because of WOTC but because that is the Patreon benefit along with Rudy's good looks. They are still in standard and will probably still be around 105 + inflation.

It just means you don't get Rudy cheap pricing. The secondary market will always have the boxes.

Wait a sec. Those three products only came out a year ago or so. Don't they normally wait for 2 years before terminating the print run?

This is why you get your positions early. I remember the thought was to not put money in boxes early because that is dead money. Maybe that was the case but for those who can't get pallets from distributors, it is better to get what you need early. Otherwise you get a surprise shutdown of product...I'm looking at you Dominaria.

And the funny part about this story is that many of those products are still available through our local Amazon stores. If WotC still has pallets on their warehouses they will just channel them through Amazon

Usually Rudy pulls down the offer for Patreons if he can't get any more supply. Chances are you won't see it listed when Rudy posts his new May list on May 10th. I'd buy them off Ebay, Amazon etc. now before word spreads.

Yikes holy crap. I didn't expect all 3 sets to go out of print. Glad I added all 3 sets to my positions over this past year. I expect prices to go up faster now for all, especially for Ikoria. That set has been languishing for the past year at around $90-$100 a booster box.

Us Rudy's are being created into Timmy's by wizards. All of this is going to amazon. Amazon has made a deal with wizards like they did with the e books. They will pay Penny's on the dollar for manipulating the market. Magic wont support lgs anymore. They wont invest in it. The game will see a decline because major retailers are disgusted by people coming in and buying out tcg stock. The only thing will be online retailers. This game is dieing which you all have heard a million times but this time it's TRUE. Wizards is pumping its customers for every penny they got before they go out with a bang. The average player plays for a year. That's all it takes to cycle out 60% of the player base.

Core 2021 was a great core set. It's probably were I'm going to put my money. I hope rudy still sells them since I was expecting to order some this month. Kind of odd they stopped it so quick.

Probably has to do with the MH2 delays, they have to free up capacity for all these summer sets and might as well just can the slow sellers early with standard in-store play still not happening.

This is pretty wacko I was expecting Theros to be cut off soon, but Ikoria should still have a month or 2 and CORE21 should still have almost 6.
