It's so strange to see people talk about singles prices as though Hasbro is in it for everyone. They're printing a set a month for this very reason, to curb secondary market inflation. "Should we maintain scarcity and allow people who don't play the game to profit, or pump out products so we profit?" It's crazy to me that people feel Hasbro has some obligation to collectors/card flippers. Their target audience will always be people who play the game. Anyway, it was refreshing to see your comment in this sea of tears.

this happened to me once when Chronicles and Homeland and Fallen Empires and Ice Age came out. Went for Star Trek and Star Wars TCGs. Didn't work out so well.

And this is when I decide to shift my focus to Flesh and Blood...

people talking about singles prices: y'all understand that Hasbro EXPLICITLY doesnt care about the secondary market on singles, right? They are the PRIMARY market on magic cards, and they're gonna make money off of this reprint, and that's all that matters to them.

Exactly - can't blame Rudy for that, appreciate him notifying us. But this was a big expenditure that should have seen at least a bit of natural appreciation, not a reprint 4 months later.

Not surprisingly Reddit has already been discussing this video, and one interesting comment that I have forgotten about is Blake Rasmussen publicly saying prior to release that VIP was a limited print run similar to Collector Boosters: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/695618156?filter=archives&sort=time @26:21

Thanks for sharing the update - very disappointing. The singles prices have already cratered with many foil box toppers less than $15. And we still have significant inventory available for less than $1600/case. or $100/pack. Not clear why shoving more into the channel is a good idea with other products like ZNR and CMR offering holiday purchase opportunities. The whole thing about the premium packs (Collector, VIP) was that they were limited print runs, not print to demand like Draft or Set. Shoving more product at a cheaper price only punishes those who took the plunge at $100 / pack, not to mention singles that were hundreds of dollars like Force of Will. Money Machine goes BRRRR, Secondary Market goes "brrr"

I seen these on sale and bought a bunch of them to add my to my postion. I hope they come on sale again.

Double masters singles are already annihilated in terms of value so this is just bizarre. At this stage, even a $90 price point on VIP gives very low EV. What's this going to do? Are people going to sell VIP boosters at $80? $70? This is just mind blowing

I'm glad we were able to get a confirmation on the printed amount of the FAB promo cards. Knowing that number makes the purchase worth it. Especially if the game takes off more than it already has. Think I'll stick that and the playmat in my taco collection and crack a box of packs when I get the kit.

Damn damn damn! I have a position of 20 boxes each of VIP Double Masters collector and regular boxes sealed. Maybe the reprint will have a white border instead like in the old days of Magic. Still this really really stinks and sucks!

I opened my VIPs a couple of weeks thanks to a friend who told me “the rumors” on the VIP. I do expect prices of the VIPs to go down further. Btw bought 2 cases of Commander 2020 on Amazon 2 weeks ago for $99.99 plus tax, shipped. 🎉🎉🎉😌
