There is only ever one "alpha". That was Welcome to Rathe. All subsequent sets would be "1st printing". So far, you can distinguish "alpha" cards in Rathe from unlimited by the rarity symbol difference and probably the date on the card. Same for Arcane. Remains to be seen how we will distinguish between 1st printing of Crucibles and a subsequent printing.

Given the somewhat "untrustworthiness" of sealed product, do they plan on ever marking booster packs with an "alpha" symbol to act as a proof marker for the product, or just incase people want to crack boxes with the intention of getting packs graded

I want to echo a question I saw above about the possibility of an asymmetrical game mode with powerful "monster" heroes designed to go 1v2 or 1v3 (or more). I have played a board/card game (Beneath Nexus) with this premise and it was quite fun. I feel your pain in this, but I think this is mostly a 2020 issue combined with a company only making a limited amount of product in order to not lose their butts. I’d expect prices to plummet on unlimited product. Even single prices from ChannelFireball look to be very reasonable at the moment, and I expect prices to drop further.

Right now there is a lot of confusion about Crucible of War. Some people insist that there will be another influx of 1st Edition boxes, but then major sites like Miniature Market are currently accepting preorders for "second printing" that are not labeled as 1st edition in any way. Can you bring clarity to the plans for Crucible of War versions? Longer term, can you have a place on your website that is just very explicit about things like this so players are better able to make informed purchasing decisions?

Will certain playmats be limited and will certain playmats be available indefinitely? Also, will LSS take action against people who try to sell fakes? Does LSS plan on implementing any other types of collectors items?

My questions are: 1) how does FaB set itself apart from other CCGs? How can you break the mold for this type of product and reinvent the game genre? 2) is LSS open to releasing another style of sealed box product other than booster boxes? I find that draft is a little more involving and more expensive especially if new players are involved, how can you attract new players or even people new to card games? Backstory: I have been playing Flesh and blood since January 2020 and have been doing mass box openings since the release of Crucible of war in August 28th. I have opened over 80 individual boxes of Crucible of war and noticed something very strange regarding the printing occurrence of some cards. https://fabtcg.com/articles/crucible-war-inside-pack/ According to the article, it discusses "short print" cards being intentionally printed and most noticeably are cards with the legendary wording. This left me with the question “Are there other cards besides those with legendary text wording?” This said, I further noticed that in another interview with James https://fabtcg.com/articles/crucible-war-q/ They discussed further change in rarity eliminating supers to just mythic. For those of you who do not play, supers tend to be good cards but were nowhere near the level power of majestic cards. The new consolidation of rarity in crucible of war has seen the elimination of the super rarity and consolidated them with majestic. I have assembled numerous alpha crucible of war RF/CF sets and discovered that within each class, not counting the equipment Majestics, there is class majestic 1 card that occurs at just about 1/3 rate as other Majestics and the others at the rate at which other supers would be pulled. To add some credence to my discovery, I went to various large stores that sell FAB singles in USA and New Zealand and found that their specific stock for these theorized class specific Majestics cards were also about 1/3 that of the cards that other Majestics were. In the interview, it James stated that players would know what cards are the “good” ones would be hence the consolidation. Does what I experience reflect cards that are short print run? Does each class have 1 majestic, not accounting for equipment, that are short print? Thanks.

The art for Flesh and Blood has that old school card game aesthetic and is a big part of the game to me like MTG. Would it be possible as the game grows to get some of the popular artists that MTG uses today or in the past. Any ideas of alternate promo art of existing hero's. Or alternate art in general for any cards Is there any plans for non-huminoid hero's in the future. Like a brute- bear with reprints of some cards for the class having new art to support the look of a bear hero like savage swing for example. Could there be future plans as the game grows to redesign pack structure so that there is a token/weapon slot as apposed to the Crucible structure of having them in the common slot.

Will you eventually plan on printing cards in the US also? The quality is worse here than any other country with MTG. If you do open shop here in the US will the quality be top notch? Or is there going to be a story behind the game and in depth like other tcgs?

While rotation or some way to keep the meta fresh is probably inevitable, much like commander in MTG I get attached to my hero much like I do my commander and one of the biggest benefits to the commander format on top of no rotation is that I can always play my commander regardless of how the meta changes. Any chance heroes will get to stick around?! Would love to see heroes be exempt from rotation if there ever is one.

Hello James and rest at Legend Story Studios. About 5 years ago I developed a PVE/PvP TCG adventure draw game based off of D&D, and the Pathfinder Adventure TCG. Head, chest, legs etc slots, starting primary and secondary weapon, trinket slot etc (OSRS, Diablo style) And the "backpack" was the hero's Deck (that begins with a base layout that progresses with the story) The dungeon, exploration and social aspects were set apart into different decks to be drawn for events and story progress. The cards act as prompts and the Roleplay is done with Theatre of the Mind. (Hand size could be done via Str/Sex or Int/Wis depending on the class) I have a world, setting, iconic characters, etc. So it was really awesome to see a game actually developed and make it off the ground. (Alot of people already asked a similar question to mine, PvE, but also - are you hiring? Lol are visas a thing for Australia atm? I was almost hired by JaGeX in 2010, and could of saved the disaster that was Evolution of Combat, so it would be nice to put my talents to some use. (Other Question: How or what do you plan to do to market your IP? Pokemon has iconic characters and story line, so did Magic, so I'm curious what other media's you're going to use to introduce players to the World of Flesh and Blood?

The Collector Centre is a great boon to many people and contains a lot of useful information. That being said do you intend to keep expanding upon it and adding new information? We will eventually see which promos are out of print, how many were created, have they all been given out, how many of each Fabled, etc? With such a focus on collectability as well as just having a great game this information has been widely conjectured and postulated upon and official clarification would be greatly appreciated.

1.) Given the incredibly disparity in price between 1st edition print runs and Unlimited editions, what is LSS' target for how long 1st editions will be available on shelves going forward? That is, in their ideal world, how long after release should I be able to walk into my LGS and buy or draft a 1st edition booster of Monarch and all future sets? 2.) Relatedly, are there any plans for the future to prevent stores from holding their first edition stock and then selling for a massive markup like CFB is currently doing? Obviously that is a unique situation as they received the product after the price spike, but given the gap in 1st edition vs unlimited edition pricing, there seems like there would be an incentive for stores to reserve some portion of their 1st ed product to sell at inflated prices if they can expect to flip it in for several times MSRP in a short time frame. 3. The Collector's Centre (https://fabtcg.com/collectors-centre/) is an unusually generous offering of information that many other companies would opt not to share. Can we expect expansion of some of the TBA and ? mark categories (such as print runs sizes and F rarity rates) in the future or do we have as much information on the currently covered sets as you plan to let out? 4. Finally, the Collector's Centre currently lists print dates for promos but no total number. Promos have been an especially valuable segment of the game to date, but there also is no clear indication that they won't be reprinted in identical format or that LSS isn't reserving some quantity of them to distribute in the future. Can we ever expect to have this sort of information or is the community always going to be rolling the dice with these cards outside of the very few (Team Covenant exclusives, for example) that have some sort of partner agreement in place to limit future distribution? Question: With your CFB partnership, they seemed to have been allocated a number of WTR, ARC, and CRU boxes that they are now selling well above MSRP. Is this something we can expect from CFB and LSS partnerships in the future? Do you have plans to enforce something like MAP that ensures that B&Ms do not hold product they are receiving at distributor-level pricing to turn around and sell on eBay well above MSRP? Up until now, everything you've been doing as a company has seemed quite legit, but this deal and CFB's behavior here brings some of that into question. It is especially problematic as they are a large retailer with connections at the distributor level, so they will have a great deal of insider knowledge of when a product is near going out of print. We've already seen issues with them on limiting product for sale at MSRP prices, issues with properly issues refunds for some of those orders, and then magically having additional product they can then sale after the official OOP announcement.

I believe the longevity of a game not only comes from the system of play it’s built upon, but the opportunities for diverse play the game can offer. The first “block” of this game has established a cornerstone of the “heroes” in this universe, and in the video released with the ChannelFireball partnership, a comment was made regarding ancient beings waking up. Are there plans to make PvE content for the game, where players fight as a group to defeat a leviathan, or complete a dungeon to complement the already established PvP styles of play?

Coming from MTG; I'm an avid Commander/EDH player because the group setting is what really keeps me coming back (the talking and speaking a common language with strangers) vs the one on one play of other formats where there is little talking and we are just trying to kill one another. It seems that FAB could do something similar with 4 heroes battling it out. Do you plan to create a format and corresponding cards that make that possible?

Collectability is a core component of the game and is communicated that a player can "Invest" into on multiple pages of the FABTCG website. What is being done to eliminate insider information within the secondary market to avoid situations where certain collectors have access to information that gives them an advantage over other collectors? To give specifics, information given to retailers. (Note: I love FABTCG, just very interested in this topic)

2. How is the company financed? Bank loans, venture capital or selling stock? As the company looks to scale up production and distribution, how is this financed, being more leveraged or selling more stock? Will there be any control issues in the future with making design, production and distribution decisions?

It took several years of game mechanics design and playtesting to get the final product gameplay. How much play testing goes into each set? With the last two sets coming out only a few months apart does that mean you guys have had the first 3 or 5 sets of cards and mechanics already designed from the initial several years? Or is there some kind of formula you have to be able to make this many new cards and abilities without as long of a period of play testing? Or is the team that play tests just a huge team that gets alot done quickly and efficiently?

My question is fairly simple do you and your team believe Legendary cards (one of in decks ) should be a auto include playable in all deck formats. Even with unlimited printing any card with a value more the 20$ starts forcing players away from certain strategies. The fabled and Legendaries have shown to command a crazy high price because the game is also highly collectable. What is FAB doing to insure players play and collector collect without pushing each other to madness.

My question: currently most semi competitive decks to competitive decks run quite a lot of legendarys. The pull rates on these cards a quite low leading to the cards being very expensive. Supply will help but growth will keeps prices high. How will this barrier to entry into tournament play be addressed. This may lead to a massive power level disparity when tournament s become available in the US and other countries.

Remember your 2Ds Rudy! Also, I would like to know how LSS plans to schedule their yearly releases. For example: two expansions and two reprint sets a year. Or three expansions and a reprint set a year. In other words, are they keeping their set releases at quarterly, trimestre, biannual? What's the plan? That info is important for budget allocation to investors and players alike.

What was behind the decision to classify boxes as alpha/ first edition? And do you expect to continue releasing first editions followed by unlimited printings in the future?

Will Legend Story Studios, or do they already, have any exclusive distribution deals with any of the larger online TCG stores? If so, will these stores have a larger guaranteed share of First Edition releases moving forward than the remaining open market?

All the boosters boxes are great. I like the whole alpha print name, which should had said on the boxes instead the change to first print. I feel the unlimited print is too soon. I'm just hoping the fable cards and legendary cards are not going be easy to get. Hopefully, the unlimited doesn't ruin the secondary market for first print runs. My honest opinion, no fable cards should be in th unlimited print so it keeps that rarity. if there is should be extremely harder to obtain. Now, anyone can just buy tons of boxes just to get those cards and now the value of first prints goes way down. I love this game and want to see this rise to the top. As a collector and player still going to buy your unlimited print runs.

Obviously one of the biggest hurdles for new TCG’s, that almost none of them overcome, is that no one knows it exists. What are your plans for advertising and getting this game on people’s radar?

How do you plan on competing with other games such as MTG, Pokimon, etc? Will you push your product to be available to all so we can enjoy the game (like MTG in the early days) or will it be all about the money?

Was the transition from Alpha printings to Unlimited printings planned in advance from the beginning? Or was it in response to demand surpassing expectations?

Some of the appeal on current sucessful games beyond the game playability is the collectibilty and value of cards. Do you have a plan in place to help keep the game exciting and also keep cards that have value available but also at a level that they maintain value for collectors?

Will having a smaller First Edition print run of each new product be continued or will subsequent releases as the game becomes more successful have larger overall numbers and therefore a dilution of First Edition importance and rarity?

Why should I play your game when the secondary market has already devoured your product, pushing the price tag on boxes. Along with the fact I don’t have people to play with in person at my LGS.

My Question: Do you promise to never sell out on FAB? I'm really excited about the game but I am worried but long term I am worried that it may follow the Magic direction of being an amazing card game driven by short term business benefits at the expense of long term health of the game. Will your game remain with creators who love the game?

Has flesh and blood ever been looked into having more then just 2 people playing against each other. Mainly looking into becoming a multi player format in the near future?

Will there be a separate type of playable character instead of hero? Like Villain or maybe a God. And the play style there might be different like the god doesn’t have a weapon only works off tributes and that you pay with pitch. Or a villain being an evil version of the same hero’s we have with specific villain cards that might be a detriment to the villain as well as a great tool or just cards that play vastly different from the original hero.

I know little of your game and have most of my exposure to it just by the mentions Rudy makes to it. I've been playing magic for 25 years and its pretty much the only TCG I've played during that time and have seen many come and go (Yughi and Pokemon being the only exceptions). Why should I give your game a chance and what makes you think it may still be round in 2 years?

Many up and coming card games that aren't the Big 3 all seem to last a few years and then pitter down. We've seen this time & Time again. CFV, Force of Will, Kaijudo, Dragon Ball, Naruto ETC ETC. FAB seems to be a fantastic game but so werent all of those other previously mentioned games. What does FAB Plan to do to make it past the first few years and maintain popularity or even make its place into the big 4 ?
