Important Updates - August 10th

It's good to put in a ticket to Wizards for it, since they require the product lot #s for a ticket that can make the replacement process more smoother for others with the same one.

Just some info for everyone. I ordered two boxes of DM from Rudy, same lot #s one had a topper the other did not. I know people were asking if there are certain lots that are susceptible to this error. Maybe, but definitely not exclusively.

Mother nature can help open the packs cleanly if you don't want to. No heat gun required. I got this reliably untampered inner-case shipped to me several days from across the country from a top-selling LGS and live in a very hot and humid area. You call this glue? :D https://imgur.com/LmdId9l

Unfortunately, if keeping the boxes sealed for investment vs. opening the packs, it seems WotC does not have a compensation plan. WotC has really negatively affected the long term attractiveness of this VIP product. You have to wonder if they did it all on purpose! But, they don't seem competent enough for all these screw ups to be on purpose, lol.

Ravnica is an older set. The next new set is Zendikar Rising and comes out in September. Presales do exist for this product online.

8/11/20 Thanks Rudy for the mention of VIP compensation and writing support early! Wrote them 8 hours ago and got the reply to get my DM pack per VIP UPC (1:1) Hopefully others can join the caravan to taco town and receive this compensation for a while longer. Write support/don’t miss the bus!

Do any care about them Ravnica collectors booster box's & booster packs been out yet?? I been seeing on ebay now for past month here in the USA like this person in Austin, Texas has them in stock eBay item number: 353137530138. I don't see any video's or talk on this Magic card set yet,so why is this?????????????

Even the larger openings don’t guarantee anything. A friend of mine just finished opening 32 VIP packs. He got 4 showcase Mana Crypts. But not even one Force of Will.

Well, damn, I was planning on keeping this stuff sealed. Now I am wondering if I should open a box of DM to see if I have the box toppers or not. These were supposed to be for drafting later. I am wondering if any Rudy customers were missing box toppers, if it is a per-pallet thing, what is the likelihood that Rudy got bad pallets in, etc. Yikes. Also contemplating cracking my VIP boxes but I don't have enough for law of large numbers and I could get screwed.

Good question. I haven't seen anything concrete yet. Given the Zendikar release date, I would think late-October or early-November makes the most sense.

Weird question but since we're rapidly approaching Q4 2020 has anyone heard any updates on Commander Legends? I'm trying to stop spending on magic before that release cause I'll want to draft from it but I have no sense of when to expect it

If you can see it’s visibly damaged without opening it, I would just contact Wizards support and attach the pics.

Thanks for this update! Anyone have any advice on if i should open the damaged box topper to know what's inside or simply contact blizzard and send the sealed boxtopper to them?

You can weigh them. And, from what I understand, there is no second print of the Double Masters set. There will be a second wave of product distributed later, but it’s all part of the same print run.

no box topper in a sealed box?? is it possible to notice from the outside? I'm asking because one could buy these at events with buylists for example and no receipt would be provided. Also down the road wouldn't make first print run less valuable now?

the last time i got a support ticket from wizards was for the Ikoria CE box, for the missing Japanese godzilla cards. They sent me a sealed ancillary pack with the foils. Took about a month.

is it the upcs of the individual packs or the one on the box that list quantity on each box of 4?

Missing Box topper in double masters, confirmed issue from Wizards support. They are correcting the issue and sending me the “replacement” at no cost. Took a few emails with picture of receipt, but glad to have good customer support! Now just waiting for my VIP to arrive so I can send in those UPCs.

Well I mailed in 18 vip upcs worst case scenario I lost the cost of two stamps, best case I get almost a box of free packs.

Blister packs are single packs with extra packaging so they can easily be hung in stores.

Can someone help me understand what these "Blister packs" are and how they differ from the Booster Displays? Are these individual 1 pack units? I am not understanding what the product looks like.

Anyone had success getting a box topper replacement in the past? My double masters box didn't come with the Topper. Just emailed Wizards about it.

There's already a video from MidwestEDH searching and sealinga vip pack in a couple minutes. The product feels a little dead in the water if you can open them and close them that easily.

Great question! I want to know too. I would like to keep my 4 Double Master Draft Booster Boxes sealed for at least 5 years.

Some folks have complained about the “misleading marketing” and lack of two potential showcase cards per pack. Wizards supposedly offered one free DM Booster pack per VIP pack UPC code. Not very sustainable….
