I don't get why so many people have an issue with sales items. The patron page states we can get x number of standard boxes each month for 79.99 which is true every month. Any sale offered on top of that is an extra benefit offered to the patrons that would not need to be offered. If there is a deal you don't like guess what. No one is forcing you to buy it. People need to stop expecting others to provide them with handouts, and running opportunities for others.

Can you honestly feel a difference in the card stock quality or is it just a reason people can sell their boxes for more?

I just noticed that an Ikoria Bundle that I picked up on release day had Made in USA on it. Does this mean that some boosters for print run one are USA and some are Japan? All my sealed booster boxes have Made in Japan on them. I also see that the Ikoria Collector's Boosters were Made in USA (at least the ones I currently have were).

yes, ONLY patrons who did not purchase or swapped over will be eligible to buy.

I would recomend not purchasing the 1st edition boxes and just stick with the 79.99 shipped boxes since it is not of importance to you.

Hmm I understand the importance of 1st Edition being a big pokemon fan from the WOTC days but is 1st Edition really that big of a deal in magic? This is where I really need to put my faith into what Rudy says because I have never known "1st Edition" to be a big deal when it comes to Magic Cards. Pokemon it is a big deal. Magic uhhhhh. Is there a restriction on the number of 1st edition boxes per person, or should we expect a sellout within the first 2 mins?

I remember how much I wanted to get a hold of a Japanese printed War of the Spark box due to how much I hated the quality of the American prints. The damn things looked milky or faded, like wtf. It was almost hour of devastation bad (printed on 1ply toilet paper). Not even investing but id pay a reasonable amount to not have cards curl.

Is 2nd print run going to have the machagodzilla/battera/egg godzilla cards that were missing from the US 1st print run I wonder.... or will they stay exclusively JP printed godzilla cards? Japan does like its exclusives. I felt like it was on purpose from the beginning.

I'm one of the patrons who luckily managed to grab some in the first offering, and i would love to get more. But i think it's better if Rudy give priority to the people who didn't get any last time.

I got Core 2021 Booster boxes that are Made in USA, but I also got some loose booster packs the LGS was giving away that felt kind of loose compared to other boosters. Upon looking, i notice these were Made in Japan. So, it looks like Japan and USA printed first printing of Core 2021.

People are saying that the way to tell the print run is whether it says Made in Japan or not, but I'm sitting here with my prerelease Core 2021 booster box that clearly says, "MADE IN USA." Was Core 2021 different, or are people wrong?

Japanese packs are longer, have a tear slit at the top and are placed in the pack in opposite order(token, land, foil, rare, etc)

Rudy...so are all 1st printing of Magic boxes made in Japan (or Belgium etc.)? How can you tell with older boxes if they are 1st printing?

The first run normal standard boxes are a total joke though, as spacegodzilla, death corona is only a chase card and not guaranteed, even if you open a case. Also, since Rudy pointed out in another video the card isn't really worth anything, it makes no sense that is raises the price. Just buy one off ebay for 10 bucks lol.

I made a mostly foil Ikoria set out of 1 draft and 2 CEs which was kind of surprising. Getting a 2nd print to crack open for giggles, and top-ups for decks would be cool, those Broodmoth pulls are brutal.

Also seems like second printing or later might change the text of the "companion" cards for the new rule?

If the second print run is smaller than the first print run, will that make the second print virus zilla the rarer of the two? They did not make a second print run of the collector's boxes, which seems to have a great many of those cards.

1st printing is made in Japan, 2+ printings are made in USA. You will be able to tell on the sealed box

The Ikoria Collector Booster Boxes (English) are rapidly crashing and seem to be following a similar financial trajectory of the other “Collector” series. Further, the cheapest Ikoria Collector Booster Boxes (English) listed upon Ebay and TCGplayer ($250) are currently displaying a 17% decrease from the former peak price of approximately "$300" per display.

I Secons this! I traded out and would love first shot at grabbing these. But I am sure Rudy will make it a limited quantity. But perhaps offer larger quantities to those who traded out for maybe 24 hrs then offer to every else in limited quantities.

I need confirmation on this but from what I understand the very first print run uses Japanese printers and the quality is very different the cards are waxier or smoother and the color is better. The ones printed in the US are noticeably lower quality.

Is it because the secondary manufacturers are making cards that smell toxic? I got an Ikoria 2nd run gift box and it smelled awful, much like the retail store Mystery Booster boxes and the Commander 2020 decks... I would definitely pay more to not inhale noxious fumes.

Does this mean my “Stay the course” AI shirt is going to be worth more now? ;) Not sure why first print run would be a thing for Magic the gathering. I’ve seen something similar in numismatics. But it always felt like a late night infomercial gimmick to get someone to pay extra. Now if you tell me that first print run has a higher percentage of card “X” or quality is better, or some other qualifier, then I get it.
