Not saying you can or cannot but, In my experience, Amazon gives a tentative return date depending on the product. Example, I bought a computer part and was able to return it, open box, within two weeks. I had a return on a piece of clothing, they gave me a month. Both were prime, fulfilled by amazon. Thing is, how long will it take for something like this show real value? I am assuming, since it is around 40-50% more expensive than a collectors box, but double the packs, the crowd that is now only buying collectors boxes may like this. As for flipping singles.... who knows.

With Amazon as a vendor why can't people order a lot of boxes and then return it if the price tanks?

Anyone hearing about commander 20 sets having duplicate decks in them? I’ve heard of 5 cases so far where people didn’t get all 5 they got 4 and 1 duplicate.

The biggest thing that bothers me is not all the product. It's that it seems they dont seem to have a long term vision for mtg. It seems like they just wanna milk for cash and see where it leads. Maybe I'm wrong

I would like to hear Rudy's thoughts on what seems to be the official transition into box toppers in everything and alt art this and that's and premium versions. Everyone else's thoughts too for that matter. Of course I would agree with the corporate point of view that Timmy's will pay the prices so why not make it. I guess I would be curious how alternate arts of older reprints now may change box prices if those chase cards are no longer desired in the older sets now. I mean if people want the alt art version of Blightsteel why buy mirrordin besieged. Etc. I think that would be an ih interesting topic. I'm sure there is a long history of box prices going up no matter what, but this is a new variable if there are going to be new flashy arts of older cards. Yo quiero Taco Bell

I agree, it has nothing to do with the money it’s more that they keep cramming more shit down our throats and most will buy it because they like it or don’t want to miss out. It sucks that boxes get to that price point because of that creepy asshole Rudy (no hate I still love the dude) but if it wasn’t him it would’ve been and still is being affected by others as well, they just stay quiet about it while Rudy chooses to entertain and inform which I like. Hopefully by the time it’s released people will be too broke and it’ll be a garbage fire lolz.

I think they just had this waiting in reserve. I bet they didn’t make that much money from Ikoria and theros because of the covid19. With lgss having to shut down and people losing their jobs. So this is probably a contingency plan if things go bust for a quarter like now and they still have to pay papa hasbors share holders.

While it seems like a cool product with some new artwork does anyone else feel that prices for new products are just getting a little out oh hand? I get why older boxes are expensive because of supply and demand. To me personally I rather own the original printing of a card from an old set than a reprint frim a new set. Just seems that with mtg and even sports cards boxes going for $1000+ its taking just a little bit of the fun out of it. Money isn't the issue and I understand WOTC is a business not knocking them at all and not knocking anyone who buys the product I will be buying a couple from some creepy dude but just something rubs me the wrong way. Maybe I'm wrong but I think there's something there.

I also have to say that it is confusing to me that wotc is pumping out so much expensive product during times of extreme unemployment globally. The stimulus cash, for what it was worth, inflated the numbers of people who bought into ikoria. I dont see that continuing.

Hmm...definitely interested to see how this plays out. 332 card set. I believe that's roughly 80-100 more cards than a normal masters set? Hopefully most of the added cards are in the rare/mythic slot or this could hurt singles value. Sealed box value should be solid long term either way especially with 2 box toppers and Alt Art.

Old master sets had msrp of $240, with price increase and no msrp I would assume double masters would be $300+ putting their VIP at $500-600 for 12 packs, holy crap, that will be most expensive booster box ever sold at retail. They picked the wrong year to put these out considering world issues and the amount of product they have already pumped out this year. Hasbro is money hungry and as much as I love magic this is getting ridiculous.

I guess the only good thing about collector's boosters and VIP edition is it suppresses the prices of the "normal" box making magic somewhat affordable? ya? man, i can't wait for hoarders 2030 edition where someone has to remove the sealed boxes of magic draft boxes from their house because it is unsafe. lol.
