~ February Mid Month Updates ~

Alright...lets start with Theros Standard boxes.

Per the request of a lot of patrons, I will be offering Theros standard boxes at 79.99 starting March 1st. I have acquired 1,500 boxes.

Once this batch sells out. I will NOT re-stock the product. I still have a lot of concerns and i am not comfortable holding a big position and selling them to the patrons right now.

Theros is still on the ALLOCATION period, but distributors are having a hard time moving the standard product. Everyone is buying the collectors boxes on the secondary market. The distributors have flushed out the Collectors boxes and there is no restock.

Im hoping over the next 3 months the market settles and if the Theros standard boxes look more attractive i will carry them. I am hoping to negotiate from a separate distributor to get a lower price.

Other news...i have been quietly buying a LOT of Theros collectors boxes with the prices dropping and the negativity flying. I will be offering the collectors boxes after the 1,500 standard boxes are gone at a discounted price. 

Next up...Mystery boxes. This is a WPN Tournament store item, i do NOT have access to this product. I will try and get a couple boxes for box openings from other stores but that is it.

I am not very excited about this product, the massive set size and the limited print run is "blah". In addition no one is very excited about it anymore. It already feels like old news. I dont see much opportunity here.

Unsanctioned is a product i did NOT order from the distributors since i feel it is goign to be like the brawl decks and start out very expensive and get massive restock/reprints and it will get CRUSHED. I hope i am wrong and the product is limited and holds value.

If unsanctioned was a regular booster box like Unstable in the past, i would have purchased as much as possible.

The new challenger deck set will be carried, i know this is a "nasty" unliked product. 

As i stated 2 years ago, when people were unhappy about this product, it was a solid long term play. The 2018 challenger decks have appreciated 30-50% in 18 months.

I will be offering the Ikoria Collectors boxes and the Ikoria Commander set. A lot of people are already bearish and negative on this set due to the direction of everything and the Theros mess. I think the Ikoria print run will be trimmed back and it will catch people off guard.

Secret Lair...i still like secret lair and i think they cards are beautiful and its very difficult to lose money with this product. My complaint remains the price point and also the quantity of products being released. The packaging and cards itself are "fun" I dont think they are long term investments, but they are collectible and a unique product that will always hold value. I do believe wotc will slow down on the quantity of this product due to market pushback.

Pioneer....is still going very strong. I am shocked at how well this format grabbed traction and continues to inflate new products. I dont see this changing anytime soon. But i do believe it will "cool off" and stabilize in 2020. I dont see any more big spiked in value simliar to the beginning.

Lastly...RESERVED LIST...overall the old cards remain in a bear market. I have not seen ANY UPTICKS or data showing these cards are moving up in price. The sold transaction and public sales records remain very low. The deals being done privately remain at discounted prices. For those of you with the stomach and the capital, i would continue to slowly build your positions and looks for deals/sales/coupon codes. I dont expect any large returns anytime soon. I think vintage will remain stable moving forward with small returns. If you are not passionate about loving these cards, i wouldnt touch it. But opportunity exists.
