If you are paying me to solely get cheap product then you are 100% correct. I would recommend you close your account. Especially if you dont even watch or like the videos. All regular products do not have problems. When a specialty product comes along, you are correct, i am not able to get enough of a special item.

It's inevitable people will quit supporting you if we are paying you to secure product. I don't watch your videos, I want cards, and that is harder and harder to accomplish through you.

i was building a computer, went 'oh crap and :40 minutes after 4:00 pm mtn time it was already all over. Damn my rotten luck. I did notice on eBay that one seller is selling the box without the topper for the low 220's. That is an interesting trend. I wonder if the box single value at that box price would pay or not.

Wizards was not right. All they did was screw over the inventory on the secondary market. And two Wizards is slowly eroding it's own brand. I for one will not be buying singles at inflated prices moving forward for modern or non-reserve list cards

Oh yeah! Josh Lee Kwai did a great job explaining the balancing act wotc has to play with reprint sets in the latest Command Zone. And this was one of his points, the investors are basically subsidizing cheaper magic for the masses with this set by lowering the prices overall. M25 and Iconic masters didn't do this because it was Jace or bust or Mana Drain or bust to get a decent EV. Boy did wotc overcorrect with this one! Honestly masters 2017 I think was right where they needed to be for these sets.

this set is going to do exactly what it needed to.... its going to crush the barrier to entry to modern and make it wayyyyyy cheaper for people to play that format... by the looks of it.. dredge, vengevine, tron, prison decks etc are all gonna drop 30-50% pricewise for a bit...and thats great

On the topic of wizards it is hard for me to not feel like this is just a straight up cash grab. Nothing from what I have seen from openings in this set shows their cost to produce it was higher. Sure it looks nice but so did unstable with its full art cards. I dunno if the quality of all sets is going to increase because of this then good but not if that means the price of every set skyrockets.

Rudy, I think the biggest question is will wizard's keep their word and only do a single print run, or will distributors magically have more, that due to an NDA probably could say how they "came up with them". I bet they reprint.

Feels pretty bad to be paying for Patreon and not even have a chance to get one of the cheap boxes unless I was available for the couple minutes these were available 🤔

I had to pass on this time around. Dropping $500 on 2 boxes this time of the year just isn't justifiable. Rudy's price was amazing and I am shocked to see this sold out so quickly given the minimum you could spend was $500.

I voted with my wallet and passed on this set. It just feels bad to see it sell out so quick... really makes it feel like that wallet vote don't do much. Oh well, here's to hoping Crazy Rudy does another insane black friday. That's where my money is going.

there is alot of hype around this product right now.. everyone is hoping for a jackpot... pay 300 a box and get 500.00 worth of cards... also by saying this is "the last masters set" is adding to the hype... I think if wizards try to make this new norm it will come back and bite them in the ass... just throwing these numbers out there for thought but even at the current 100.00/box prices.. MTG gains 3 new players for every 2 players quitting and selling their collections? Higher box or pack prices means of those 3 new players only 1 can afford it... so now they are down to 1 new player for every 2 players quitting... doesn't seem sustainable to keep higher price... speaking for myself I ONLY bought a few cases of this to store and sell to the idiots on ebay when it hits 500+ a box..

how long until wizards/hasbro come for the reserved list? this set testing the waters to see how many will pay the bigger bucks?

I intend to buy one box from my LGS, @full price. I support my guy. That's the one I'll draft. If I'd had the opportunity to grab two from you I would have sat on those for 2+ years for investment. I'm not a heavy investor, I enjoy the game. I'm not happy about the price, but for now, I can afford it. I think you underestimate your patrons in that way. Everyone here can afford to pledge monthly you, we aren't the college/highschool stereotypical poor players. This customer base is paying a subscription to get boxes or cases of product from you. 700 boxes is chump change for people looking to invest.

I think this is simply another product for another subset of Magic’s demographic. Masters sets (and its analogues) will be just fine for the whales of the community. Wizards, however, should still sell their normal, standard sets at the “normal” price. When that’s too high, the people will speak with their wallet. I know I haven’t bought as much standard stuff as of late for that reason.

For me it was just a shifting of targets. It's been so long since we've seen a decent investable set (or one that won't lose 40% the second you open it), that it's an easy call to buy a few cases of this instead of a few more ABU cards. Plus, even if they don't go anywhere, it's a strong set card-wise, and will be fun to open.

People will pay for good stuff. Just wait until WoTC puts out a shit set and charge $250 for it.

Here's to hoping you find more. Terrified however how fast these sold.

Like it or not WOTC has a monopoly on Magic. There are other games but there are -no- substitutes. They can charge whatever they want and there will be people to buy it. It excludes a lot of people which is kind of sad, but that's the world we live in.

Yeah, I was thinking about buying boxes, but my main issue was "if I really dislike the price gouging I need to speak with my wallet, not via text". Maybe people will slow down the buying next $100 price increase.
