Start expansion like normal - one catch you cant attack anyone. Once their flag is on a province - its theirs. (Attacking someone is grounds for removal from the game)
Site search and research to prepare your champions.
Send champions to arena - Starting at turn 12, you can send your champion to the arena to compete. (These will be normal arenas with full magic paths)

My musings for thinking about player development.
Level 1: Understand basic game mechanics
Level 2: Understand your nation. Can play a nation to its strengths doing all the things that makes the nation strong
Level 3: Understand other nations. Know which nations are good vs others, anticipate other nations research timings and power curves.
Level 4: Huge bag of tricks and the dominions chess board.
Thanks to all of you and especially to those who helped with naming provinces. (There is a very good chance that you have a province subtly named after you if you are a patreon supporter.)

There is a bot that should automatically set set your roles to your patreon tier when you join. But knowing bots - something will mess up and ill do it manually.
