Iconic Masters panic

I bought some from ebay when you recommended that, I would also buy a few more at that price.

Yeah so I guess I'm a lying sack of shit. I bought two boxes from Creepy Rudy in this crazy Black Friday sale.

Apparently SCG is fireselling their Iconic Masters for 150 with cheapest shipping at 7 dollars. I'd still give the extra 3 bucks to Rudy for the sheer fact that he never skimps on the cheese on those tacos

I don't think of it as a patron fee - I'm volunteering to be a patron. I want to help support Rudy in making more videos, because they're worth it to me. In addition, I'm willing to pay $5 more per box to give a little bit back to Rudy. I also find the $160 boxes VERY suspicious - one seller looks legit, the rest are questionable. I got burned months ago on a cheap-but-realistically priced MM2017 that looked EXACTLY like some of the $160 boxes look.

Paid $170/doorstop on a few cases from eBay. I am not going to buy any but that is a great price for anyone that wants them. I say yes! add them.

I'd pass at $165 eBay has them at $159.99 right now. I'd be in if you matched your previous Modern Masters 2017 price of $150 that seemed like a worthy black Friday deal. Honest question to the other patrons: So many of you make it sound like $165 is some killer deal (Not even including the patron fee), do you not look up prices elsewhere?

I would be in for a couple boxes at a minimum. We're largely drafting then cubing all sets lately, so it would be good fun to quell our back cracking addiction.

Like an addict, I am already 10 boxes into the set, but I think it is a great addition. I am a big fan and even though I had a range of boxes, I still came out slightly ahead when only adding up singles worth more than $2.

I bought two boxes of Iconic Masters at $170 shipped via eBay. I opened one of them and got one of the "reallygoodhit.com" boxes (strangely, only ONE mythic, and no money foils, but I got a Horizon Canopy, Ancestral Vision, a Grove of the Burnwillows, and six other rares worth between $5-10, closer to the $10 side). I still ended up short of the money I spent on the box. I am saving the other box to draft with my friends, because Iconic Masters seems like a hell of a lot of fun to draft. But I don't think all those good cards from the first box combined with an excellent draft experience with my friends is going to make up for having spent $350 for 48 booster packs. I think I may have already unfortunately formed my impression about this set.

Right, so, the minute I opened a pack, not only did the cards feel "normal" but the booster pack wrapper even felt more "normal" than whatever came out of all those boxes of Ixalan I just opened. That being said, holy shit, those foils from Creepy Rudy's box opening video yesterday had some of the worst ink smear/smudging I've ever seen on any card. This makes me really curious about the printing process, because it appears Wizards knows EXACTLY how to fix the printing problem, which would contradict Creepy Rudy's video. I feel however that Rudy's primary currency is trust, and so I genuinely believe him when he brought us the information from the recent printing video. Creepy Rudy has every incentive to put out information as accurately as he can.

man... I left MTG right after Urzas Destiny/Legacy... Trying to get back into the swing of things and wow... so much has changed... My head hurts.... lol I have not bought into any cards sense then - Actually sent Rudy an email about this a few days go... Not sure where to jump in - hell not even sure if I want to again... seems like everything is flipped upside down now.... hmm..

I already hit my six boxes this month at my current Patreon level, would I need to up my Patreon to get this Iconic Deal? *wallet looking at me annoyed* I'd probably grab two. :) *edit* screw it, I got a sexy deal on Adobe Creative Cloud this week so all year I'm getting it for $40 instead of $50 (not an ad), so I just upped my Patreon to $20! Even if I don't buy 12 boxes a month it's money well spent supporting you Rudy. :)

If you haven’t opened this yet... card quality and foiling is pretty damn good. You can tell a pretty substantial difference with card stock on this set compared to what’s been put out in the last year. I saw Rudy had some issues with inking.... all of my product was flawless and foiling/overall card feel was very nice.

I couldn't care less about Iconic Masters. Not to save, not to open, nothing. I'm surprised demand has prices that high.

Confidence is low on this set, there are better investments out there for less money. My local store got 12 boxes in, they are sitting on 4 at $214 a box and will not be getting anymore.

To be completely honest, as a PokeTuber, I need product to open on my channel, so I’d rather buy a case of Pokémon boxes at a Black Friday blowout sale level from you. The iconic masters box, for me anyway, will go straight to my vault to be stored rather than opened. So, I’d rather an awesome Pokémon price for Black Friday buddy.

It’s tough because I have no confidence in cards avoiding reprints in any recent sets with the exception of lottery cards (won’t be reprinted w same card style, I’m confident). Especially with iconic, Wizards proved that they’ll even reprint original artwork, which was one subtlety singles investors were still holding onto. Saying this because I’m probably not alone in my reasoning for not wanting to touch this set w a 50ft pole. I did one draft at an LGS and that was it.

For that price, i would probably get some from you, too!

You can. Personally I'm hoping for a mix-and-match deal on Final Fantasy boxes. I'm hoping you got some FF Opus 4 on the way and maybe put that on preorder Thursday. Would love to be able to buy say...2 boxes of Final Fantasy and 1 Unstable but I think we already covered you cant split Unstable boxes - damn you wizards! Looking forward to Thursday.

I’d say add it as an option, just don’t remove anything from the list. I personally won’t buy any cause I s snagged a case for $130 a box and am currently $1500 in the hole for this month but options for people are always a good thing

Yes yes a million times yes please. I was hoping that this would happen. I wanted to be able to buy from you. I wanted to wait out the initial panic and I would love to be able to buy now. I was going to buy from eBay but if this happens I can go after the boxes I want at a fair price and buy it from the person I want to buy from. Please do this. I havent purchased in months but have been happy to donate the $10 bucks each month and I would love to be able to get something this month.

I knew I should have waited on my case. You should hold X amount and sell them to long term patreons for cheap in like 6-12 months.
