Follow up on the game launch isuue
Added 2019-10-13 20:36:24 +0000 UTCRight now, based on the saved games on the server we have 7 testers unable to launch and 13 who have been able to either create new games or make progress on old saved games.
I'm still have no clue whatsoever about what is causing the launcher to behave that way.
I've checked the .Net framework versions of some testers and their versions were recent enough. The game is pretty simple, it's basically all .Net
for a few it seemed that deleting the game files in the user folder helped. But obviously not for all of them.
So I'm going to get back to working on 9.4 hoping the new build fixes what the current one broke because at some point with no new data on the bug, I need to start moving forward in "some" way.
EDIT:
Windows update just gave me a clue, MS have been rolling out updates to .Net 4.5 to 4.8 in the last few weeks (I got them today) So if you're having the launch issue, here are the steps in order:
- Using Windows update look for new updates, get everything but if you have to chose, start with all latest versions of .Net (repeat until there are non left, as cumulative updates need multiple runs)
- uninstall Funky Spice.
- Delete the hidden folder at this (usual) location: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Bloopers_Studio
- download the latest FS Game client: http://bit.ly/SetupFS
- Install the latest FS Game client. (chose to install for all users and use the default location)
I can't test it... but that should maximize your chances of running the game.
