“Okay, I understand...” Jack said, calming his mind with Buddha’s Meditation Method to analyze things pragmatically. “I guess this is for the best. It should help me skip the training needed to adapt faster... without Fenrir helping me become a Werewolf, this was probably for the best.”
“You think so?” I asked.
“Yeah, don’t worry,” he smiled, patting my head. “I might have overreacted... but perhaps what happened was a lucky encounter.”
Helping her brother cultivate an Immortal Cultivator Physique might be too much work, so Anna thought this was convenient enough.
As a Pure Breed Vampire, as long as he drank blood occasionally, he would suffer no adverse effects.
“Hm, maybe you could turn me into a Vampire. Would that make me stronger?” Anna wondered. “Wait, no, forget what I said.”
“Hm, perhaps I could try?” Jack teased, hugging his sister and opening his mouth as if to bite her neck.
“Kyaaa! W-Wait! Don’t do that!” Anna cried, as Jack laughed and let her go.
“I was just playing,” Jack smiled, kissing her forehead.
CRACK!
A loud sound, like bones breaking, echoed as Jack learned to retract his wings and make them disappear.
He also learned to retract his fangs, making him look almost the same as before, but with white strands in his black hair.
“Here, take some blood for now,” Anna said, offering Vulcanus blood. Her brother drank a bit, then set it aside, eating milk rice instead, which was tastier. Apparently, as a Pure Breed Vampire, food didn’t taste bad.
“The Heart of Hope is very interesting...” Jack said. “I don’t know if I can do it, but I’ll give it a try.”
“Let me help then,” Anna said, assisting her brother after she finished sorting her items and deciding what to use herself and what to give away.
Her master had taught her that attaining the Heart of Hope varied from person to person. Although she helped Anna crystallize these emotions and energies, Anna had been taught the “truth of Hope” first, learning to perceive its essence and refine it into Ki.
Her master and adoptive mother, the Heavenly Empress, was born with an innate talent to perceive this energy and refine it into power, gaining a Heart of Hope naturally. Through the many manuals and methods she wrote, she outlined a way for anyone to achieve it.
Of course, “anyone” was a misconception, as it wasn’t easy to perceive others’ Hope and Positive Emotions and use Ki to channel those emotions into power.
However, her mother always said the key to attaining the Heart of Hope was a kind heart, an empathetic mind, forged bonds with people, and the desire to protect those bonds no matter what.
Jack, despite his different path, naturally met all these qualifications.
Thus, Anna began the ritual, spreading her Myriad Self Aura and combining it with her Heart of Hope Arts. Flames of Hope overflowed through her body, creating a Blazing Hope Heart Awakening Formation.
She used her Radiance as the ingredient for this Formation, with her Heart of Hope and Love as the core, forming a circle of white and golden flames that didn’t burn Buddha’s house.
“Now, brother, using Buddha’s method, calm your mind and think of all the bonds you’ve created, the people you love, and those you want to protect.”
Unlike before, when Jack had few bonds beyond his sister, he now quickly recalled many people.
Henrietta, Kevin, Scarlet, Annabelle, Baihe, Hilda, Fenrir, The Chairman, Dimitri, and more.
Although these connections weren’t strong initially, Anna ensured Jack interacted, talked, and spent time with them. Through osmosis, they grew to care for him, and Jack reciprocated, even if he never admitted it.
Above all, he held Henrietta and Anna closest in his heart. Because Anna was helping him forge a Heart of Hope...
FLAAASH!
A special reaction occurred as golden flames spread through Jack’s body, rapidly absorbed and concentrated around his heart.
“Nngh...!”
The flames burned, more painful than Anna recalled, but as Jack continued forging them, the pain ceased, and an air of tranquility and golden light spread around him.
“It worked...!” Anna exclaimed, shocked. “But what was that reaction? Was it easier because we already had a bond and I have a Heart of Hope?”
“I-I think so...” Jack muttered. “Wow, so this is how it feels to have a Heart of Hope?”
“Yes, congratulations, brother! You’ve forged a Heavenly Heart of Hope!” Anna said. “My master would be thrilled to know there’s a new user of her ancient arts!”
“Your masters are incredible,” Jack said with a calm smile. “To think they created such amazing methods... And instead of relying on absorbing resources or consuming powerful beings, they focus on self-cultivation, right?”
“Yes, they rely on personal growth and the enlightenment you gain by using these methods continuously. They have special power when combined!” Anna said. “But I’m sure yours will diverge from mine quickly... I mean, it already is! Your Heart of Hope is a little different.”
“A little different? How?” Jack asked.
“Hmm...” Anna examined it with her enhanced eyes. “From what I remember, the Heart of Hope is typically crystalline yellow gold. Yours has... streaks of deep red, resembling cracks.”
“Cracks?!” Jack panicked. “Are you sure that’s fine?”
“Oh, don’t worry, it looks healthy,” Anna said. “Those red streaks must be your unique trait. My master’s son developed his own power after learning the Heart of Hope. It evolved into a Heart of Willpower.”
“Willpower...” Jack mused. “Was it red like mine?”
“Yes, but fully red,” Anna said. “Then again... Song was a very special boy in his own right. He had many talents!”
“Hm, I see...” Jack nodded, smiling lightly. “I’m glad you made so many connections in that world... I was worried at first, but I suppose it was for the best. Without these methods, we wouldn’t be where we are now.”
“Yeah, we might have died or something,” Anna sighed. “I mean... not really, but we’d be in a worse place. Anyway! How do you feel about the whole Vampire thing?”
“I’m fine,” he said. “But please don’t give me weird things again, Anna... I’ll embrace what I’ve got because it’s necessary. But I’d rather not turn into something else again, if possible.”
“That’s completely reasonable, sorry...” Anna laughed awkwardly. “Oh right, the items! Here, these are for you!”
Anna gave her brother many items she had carefully selected, dividing her rewards and resources to support his growth. This included potions, martial art items, skill items, privilege items, and equipment-generating items.
The list was as follows:
[Privilege Evolution Ticket (A Rank)] x1
[Privilege Fusion Marble (A Rank)] x1
[Skill Evolution Stone (S Rank)] x1
[System Gachapon (A Rank)] x5
[Sixth Demon King: The Selfish Chimera’s Themed Treasure Chest (SS Rank)] x1
[Attack Engravement Rune (B Rank)] x1
[Speed Engravement Rune (B Rank)] x1
[Golden Heaven Ring of Hope (S Rank)] x1
[Mechanoid Goliath Armored Exo-Arms (SS Rank)] x1
[Mechanoid Golden Photon Katana Prototype: SAKURA-01 (SS Rank)] x1
[Heavenly Scroll of Forgotten Martial Arts (SSS Rank)] x1
[Super Evolved Nanomachine Injection (SSS Rank)] x1
[Heavenly Skill Book of Murim (SSS Rank)] x1
[Artificial Machine Skill Book (SSS Rank)] x1
[Elder Dragon Vulcanus Blood and Flesh (SSS Rank)] x2
[Elder Dragon Vulcanus Soul Fragments (SSS Rank)] x2
Jack was astounded by the pile of items, many of which were incredibly precious. He felt bad that his sister was sacrificing so much of her own resources, so he tried to stop her.
“All of these for me?!” Jack exclaimed, shocked as Anna pushed the pile of items toward him. “Why so many? Please, Anna, reconsider. I don’t need so much. Keep them for yourself. They were given to you for a reason.”
“I want to help you!” she smiled. “Come on, use them! It’s fine! I’ll make sure to ask for repayment later, heheh. You’ll owe me lots of favors, big brother~” Anna giggled with a teasing, bratty smile.
“Haaa... you act like you’ll take advantage of me, but I can read your intentions with these two methods,” Jack sighed. “You don’t even plan on asking for repayment, do you?”
“Please, just use them!” Anna said. “I don’t need them as much, and that shiny equipment... I want you to use it too. Please? Pretty please?”
“Anna...” Jack sighed, looking at his sister begging him to accept her kindness. “Okay, maybe you don’t plan to ask for repayment, but I’ll make sure to repay you.”
“Nice!” Anna cheered. “Are you curious about anything? I’ve cleansed the item names, but I can’t see their descriptions well. You can probably guess what they do by reading their energy signatures.”
“Yeah, they’re all amazing,” Jack nodded, equipping the golden ring Anna gave him, which boosted his Hope Essence capacity and helped regulate the energy.
He also equipped the Mechanoid Goliath Armored Exo-Arms, which molded around his shoulders and back like thin, silver cloth, accentuating his slender yet muscular frame. Anna couldn’t help but stare. It suited him perfectly.
Then he equipped the belt attached to the Golden Photon Katana Prototype, which Jack planned to use alongside his Gram, which had barely survived with him.
“Huh, these aren’t bad... Machine Technology, huh? That’s interesting,” Jack said, wielding the katana and swinging it around. Anna admired her brother, thinking he looked cool and mysterious with the high-tech gear, like a classic lone-wolf main character.
Afterward, he opened the [Sixth Demon King: The Selfish Chimera’s Themed Treasure Chest (SS Rank)], obtaining “Chimera Blood Elixirs” perfect for him, along with red and black gloves and boots, and a knife with a skull engraving, emanating ominous demonic energy. All the equipment was skull- or bone-themed.
“These are amazing too... are you sure you don’t want some?” Jack asked.
“No! Keep them, you look awesome!” Anna said, fangirling over her brother.
“H-Hahah, thanks... I guess I’m lucky my little sister is my biggest fan,” Jack laughed, patting her head.
“Heh, there’s no bigger fan out there!” Anna nodded. “After all, in my previous life, I read a whole novel about you and always rooted for you... it was just sad how it ended.”
“I know...” Jack said. “Alright, let’s use these other items... scrolls and... nanomachine injection? Is this safe?!”
“Don’t worry! I did the same thing. Nanomachines will strengthen your body and give you awesome abilities,” Anna said. “I lost my eyes, but thanks to them, I reconstructed them.”
“You did?! You haven’t told me a lot yet...” Jack said.
“Sorry... I’ll go into detail later. Just use those items already!” Anna urged.
“Alright...” Jack nodded.

I still want to see Jack develop his own physique. I feel that even with the immortality of the Vampire bloodline it could evolve into something else through him developing his own physique. Plus if the physique has wolf element added into its foundation during its creation he could regain some wolf like abilities even if it would not make him a werewolf again. He could get the wolf's heightened sense of smell and hearing, and an increase in his strength added onto his vampire strength.
