OP Sister Chapter 503: Purchasing Materials

-----

Ding!

[You have accessed your Class Trial Special Privilege: [Unique Familiar Evolution]. The current Familiars capable of accessing this Privilege Reward are [Violet], [Snow], and [Shiro]. Those unable to are not qualified.]

So Goldie and Fang Shuan aren’t qualified. I figured as much. They’re already plenty strong on their own. Besides, both have Murim World Origins, so it probably would’ve overlapped anyway.

[Do you wish to evolve your Familiars using the Special Privilege? No additional Materials are needed, but the more you add, the stronger the evolution could become, as long as the materials are compatible.]

[Yes] [No]

“Okay, so I can access it and everything. Can I evolve them one at a time or all at once?”

[The Order in which the Evolutions begin will be from oldest to newest familiar, starting with [Violet], then continuing with [Snow], and ending with [Shiro]. After evolving, Familiars will ascend into stronger forms to assist you further in your adventure.]

“Okay, that sounds good to me. Hmm, about compatible materials, I’ve got plenty of Martial Beast corpses and materials from them. That should suffice. For Violet, I still have a good amount of the Abyssal Dweller Queen’s materials scattered in my inventory. They should work well enough,” I said, mulling over the items in my inventory. “Damn, I have a ton of stuff here. Shit, this’ll take a minute. Hold on.”

As I quickly pulled out item after item and arranged them in several spots to sort and find compatible materials for my kids, Bastet and Sepa woke from their nap. They tend to sleep when I do to conserve energy and rest their souls.

“Hey, what are you even doing?” Sepa asked me.

“Huh? You sure love hoarding junk. How many useless things do you keep around?” Bastet asked me.

“They’re not useless. Every single thing has a use...!” I complained. “I think these will let me evolve everyone with solid materials, but it could be even better. Yeah, let’s hit the Hunter Market. It’s been a while.”

“Hunter Market?” Bastet asked.

“What the hell is that?” Sepa wondered.

“It’s a special Market backed by the Star Stream System itself,” I explained. “A few Constellations keep it running with their own financial capital, like Gilgamesh and others who love money or have piles of it. Anyway, my balance should be a few million at least. Let’s check...”

I filtered for Bug-type carcasses, setting the minimum to A Rank. A slew of A Rank and higher Bug-type materials popped up with various prices.

“Oh, they’ve got S Rank Bug-type materials?!”

One window displayed the corpse of a dragonfly-like monster with a long, centipede-like tail. It was massive, and the whole corpse cost a whopping three million dollars.

However, they were also selling it in parts—limbs, wings, head, and so on. Since these materials are so unpopular, they’ve been gathering dust for a while.

“Okay, I’ll make an offer.”

[You have offered $700,000 for the [Dragonfly Millipede Chimera King Carcass (S Rank)]!]

[The Auction has begun...]

[The Seller has read your message but has rejected your offer.]

“Alright, let’s do this.”

Bastet and Sepa looked puzzled as I kept offering new prices to the seller. I inched up slowly, but the seller always pushed for a bit more.

No way was I paying three million, or even two million.

After some back-and-forth, I convinced them to sell it to me for $1,700,000 USD, a solid deal all things considered.

[You have successfully won the Auction, purchasing the [Dragonfly Millipede Chimera King Carcass (S Rank)] for $1,700,000 USD!]

[The [Dragonfly Millipede Chimera King Carcass (S Rank)] has been automatically deposited into your Gathering Skill Inventory.]

Otherwise, purchased items go to the Market Inventory, which only holds things bought in the Hunter Market, but that’s still pretty handy.

I pulled out the carcass and placed it on the floor near Violet, who inspected it, nearly taking a bite until I stopped him with a glare.

“Violet, be patient!” I said. “Now, let’s find two more.”

I checked the Market again, browsing the item list. I filtered the search looking exclusively for wolves, canines, and ice for Snow, and rabbits, foxes, light, or healing properties for Shiro.

Monsters with those traits are naturally rare, but not impossible to find. After some intense bargaining in the Auctions, I secured two more items, perfect for my vision.

[You have successfully won the Auction, purchasing the [Frost Bound Glacial Beast Body (S Rank)] for $1,100,000 USD!]

[You have successfully won the Auction, purchasing the [Heavenly Fire Fox Yokai Corpse (S Rank)] for $1,400,000 USD!]

[The [Frost Bound Glacial Beast Body (S Rank)] and the [Heavenly Fire Fox Yokai Corpse (S Rank)] have been automatically deposited into your Gathering Skill Inventory.]

“Alright, we’re almost set!” I nodded, placing the corpses in front of everyone. “Shall we begin? Violet, time to evolve! Sepa, go to Violet and imbue him with your Cosmic Power if you can. Also use your Divinities.”

“W-Wait, what?” Sepa asked me in disbelief. “Anna, what the hell are you planning now?!”

“It’s not too serious, but I believe your essence could really boost Violet’s evolution! He might even become a better vessel than that insect you dealt with,” I said. “Remember that giant bug you-”

“Stop mentioning that monster I tried to sponsor back then!” Sepa complained. “Fine, I’ll give him my energy or whatever...”

“Let me help too. I think my Divine Essence might be compatible with that little Rabbit and Fox Hybrid creature, Shiro was it?” Bastet asked.

“Really? Thank you!” I said, relieved.

I guess Snow will be the only one not getting Divine Essence from a Constellation, but it’s not strictly necessary.

He’s already plenty strong anyway, definitely stronger than Shiro and nearly on par with Violet.

“Alright then, let’s begin!”

Without further ado, I triggered their evolution as I swiftly began adding materials, while Sepa and Bastet infused their Divine Essence into Violet and Shiro respectively.

Anna should totally sell some damaged machines that she defeated. It might lead some new breakthroughs in technology.

Bastet and Sepa have finally showed up. I was wondering where they were. After having them show up during the last ack a lot. I was expecting them to at least speak to Anna in her head from time to time.
