OP Sister Chapter 495: Meeting Old Friends

-----

[Star Stream Chat Warning: Void Rulers prefer not to actively participate in the chat, as they can alter reality and negatively affect those who listen to their words. Therefore, they often restrict themselves to communicating without “talking” or showing “intent”.]

The hell? Did this little warning appear because of my thoughts too? The Star Stream is part of me after all, as I’ve become something of a tiny Constellation, but even then.

Anyway.

“Hi, Annabelle!”

I ran toward her and hugged her tightly. I missed my little Annabelle more than I imagined!

Right now, she was living with Scarlet, but she did consider living with us.

It’s a pity she doesn’t, but that’s fine too. She wanted to have her own family with Scarlet, and that’s completely fair.

“Huh? Did you miss me that much? Hehe,” she giggled cutely as she accepted my hug. “I missed you a little too! Mooch!” She kissed my cheek.

“Aww.” I patted her head. She was a sweet little strawberry pie.

Baihe, however, was glaring at us, angrily? Or strangely? I don’t know, but she was making a very serious face. Did she get upset about something?

“Haha! It’s good to see you kids! Anna, you seem stronger!” the chairman said as he looked at us from above. He was a walking mountain of a man. “What happened?”

“Oh? So you noticed.” I nodded. “Well, it’s a family secret for now.”

“Heh, well, with all the Constellations sponsoring you, no wonder you can grow so quickly,” he said with a nod. “Good for you! So you’re going to become an aunt, eh? What do you think about that? Oh, Kevin too! How do you feel about that, son?”

“Aaah, I don’t know. I’m still thinking about it, Mister Chairman,” Kevin groaned.

“Haha! Well, that’s how life is. The family getting bigger is never bad news though!” he said with a nod. “I’ve been exercising a lot lately since you healed me, Anna. I think I’m slowly recovering my original strength, all thanks to your efforts.”

“Oh! I’m so happy for you, Chairman!” I said. “Looks like this city will become even safer with you at full power, so keep training hard, please.”

“Of course, hahaha!” laughed the chairman. He was in such high spirits that his laughter was contagious, and I laughed too.

[The Cosmic Throne {Golden Scales of Sunlight’s Brilliance} seems pleased you’ve overcome his father’s trials.]

[Although others might not notice, he can see that you’ve visited a Murim World, which his father governs.]

[He celebrates the birth of a new “Venerable” among his father’s worlds.]

Aahh, he immediately guessed, huh?

“Let’s keep it a secret, please.”

[The Cosmic Throne {Golden Scales of Sunlight’s Brilliance} nods, saying that this message was private and only for you!]

[He apologizes, however, for not having much to gift you today.]

“That’s fine! Just please keep supporting the chairman.”

[The Cosmic Throne {Golden Scales of Sunlight’s Brilliance} says: “Consider it done!”]

It’s nice to know that we’ve got reliable allies even among Constellations, who can be pretty scheming and two-faced at times.

“Uuh, Jack.”

As we talked, Scarlet’s mood was souring the atmosphere, quite literally, as her Black and Blood Aura spread around, turning the surroundings weirdly gloomy.

“Come on, Scarlet. I know it might be painful, but there are plenty of other amazing guys out there,” I said. “Perhaps one day you could even find someone really, really similar to Jack! So keep persevering!”

“Anna,” Scarlet held back her tears. “Thanks. I mean, I’m happy for your brother. I’m sure he will be a good dad. Yes, he surely will.”

“Come on, Scarlet. It’s not like Jack was everything to you, right? And you can still be friends,” Annabelle said. “If he’s happy with Henrietta, that’s for the better!”

“Ugh, still, it’s heartbreaking,” Scarlet said.

[The Cosmic Throne {Emperor of the Blood Throne} groans angrily, saying that your romantic interests are inconsequential to your growth and future.]

[He continues, saying that loving that man would have never worked, and he assures you that you’re much more than that pathetic human.]

[He also says that you’re a powerful Vampire with great strength and authority. With your potential, you could make any other man prostrate before you! You’re much better than he is, and he wasn’t the one who deserved you.]

“Eh? Ah.”

Scarlet was a bit shocked that Dracula, of all people, would go out of his way to try to cheer her up, although he sucked at it, most likely because he didn’t want to admit he was worried about her. Despite being a villainous freak, he’s quite kind to his one and only chosen apostle.

“Thank you.”

She sighed to herself, thanking us and even her Constellation.

“I’ll need some time to digest this. Can’t we go somewhere else?” she asked.

“Eeh, sure. I mean, we were with my brother and Henrietta,” I said.

“No, I would rather not be with them for now,” Scarlet sighed. “I need a few drinks.”

“Okay, sure,” I nodded. “But I’ll go with this. Is it fine?”

I manifested an Ego who looked rather gloomy and made of darkness and crimson energies, but I modified her to look almost like me, although a “goth version” of myself.

“Oh? This is amazing,” Scarlet was surprised.

“It’s still me, by the way. It’s a second body of sorts made of spirit power,” I said through my Ego. “Let’s go. I’ll accompany you.”

“Thanks, Anna. You’re so nice,” she cried by my side as I tried to comfort her, patting her shoulders.

“Well, I hope she gets better. She’ll have to drink her sorrows, I suppose,” I said. “Anyway, Annabelle, I would suggest you don’t go with her for now.”

“I know. Um, but what was that? You made a second body? That’s awesome!” she said.

“Yeah, yeah,” I nodded. “Something like that. It’s a new technique and skill.”

Which was actually born from one of her Skills that I Copied from her, but I can’t just tell her that, right?

“Anyway, I think we’ll be moving to my house. Do you want to come, Annabelle? Chairman?” Kevin asked.

“Sure!” Annabelle nodded. “I have never seen Kevin’s house. I wonder how luxurious it is!”

“Eh? I mean, yeah, it’s huge,” Kevin nodded. “But I wouldn’t call it luxurious.”

“Well, I have some things to do myself, so I’ll have to leave for now. Sorry about that, son,” said the chairman. “But being the chairman of the hunter association is a big deal. That means barely any free time, haha!”

“Oh, well, that’s alright too, Chairman. Please take care,” Kevin said, acting very polite with him.

“Alright then! See ya, kids!” He walked away while people on the streets stared at him with surprise.

With that done, we quickly moved to Henrietta’s building. Like my brother, she owned a whole apartment where most of her guild members lived, which was at the top of the building itself.

Her house was almost on the top floor, with a large terrace, two big pools on it, a small garden where she planted and harvested all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and spices, and a whole gym just for them, alongside a training room reinforced for Awakened.

“Wow, it is quite luxurious!” Annabelle nodded, running around the terrace and then looking at the pool and the garden. “It’s amazing how you can grow plants all the way up here! And you have a pool? Aren’t you afraid you’ll fall or something?”

“That never happens,” Kevin said. “And even if we did, I think we could survive just fine.”

“Hehe, I guess so!” Annabelle didn’t have any manners, running around another person’s house however she liked.

“Shouldn’t we tell her that it’s rude to do that?” Baihe asked.

“I don’t think they mind anyway,” I said. “Don’t worry about it.”

“Hmm, I guess it’s only in my culture where it is very rude,” she sighed.

“No, not really. We just are more laid-back because it’s her,” I said with a smile.

“Let’s have some lunch, shall we? I was thinking of cooking something myself,” Henrietta said. “Jack, Anna, can you help me out?”

“Sure,” Jack nodded, walking to her side.

“Okay!” Baihe should also help. She’s amazing at cooking,” I said. “After all, she used to run a restaurant all by herself.”

“If I am not a bother, I would like to help,” she nodded.

“Okay then! Sure,” Henrietta said. “Come along, dear.”

“Thanks,” Baihe said as she felt a little more welcomed.

Cooking with everyone while having a relaxing time was exactly what I wanted lately, just to chill and enjoy the little moments.

There was a lot to do, but for now, I just wanted to enjoy these moments, so they became precious memories to push me forward in the future.

Because I was sure that things would only get harder from here.
