BAAAM!
The beast slammed into the ground, sending ripples through the floor. Bloodclaw seized the opportunity, using her claws to rip open the monster’s abdomen, digging deeper into its body.
At the same time, blue fleshy tentacles emerged, attempting to stop her, but Merneith transformed her mechanical armor into blades, slicing through the incredibly tough tentacles.
“T-THERE…!”
Bloodclaw roared, barely managing to articulate words in her current form. She grabbed an intensely cold sphere within the Winter General’s mutated body and shattered it.
Crack, crack…!
CRASH!
“GRYYYAAAAHHHH!”
The creature let out a horrific, alien cry as a spectral, tentacled figure emerged for a fleeting second before vanishing completely.
Whatever was inside that Winter General had formed a crystallized core of its power, enabling endless regeneration.
However, once Bloodclaw found and destroyed the core, the entity’s presence dissipated, allowing the Winter General to die without constantly reviving.
“It’s done! Bloodclaw, we did it!” Merneith exclaimed happily. “You’re not half bad, dare I say!”
“Hmph… Ugh!” Bloodclaw groaned, her body swiftly reverting to normal as she collapsed onto the floor, exhausted. “I may need to train more… I haven’t trained in a while…”
“You’ll have to! I don’t mind sparring with you,” Merneith smiled. “You need to master that form; it was incredibly strong.”
“I’ll make it even stronger… and when it’s time to face those who abandoned me… I’ll make them pay… heheh… Hahahaha!” Bloodclaw laughed with a wicked edge.
Meanwhile, Merneith glanced into the distance. Peperina was still battling the other Winter General. She hadn’t yet discovered its weakness and was constantly contending with its long-range attacks and relentless regeneration, which were undoubtedly frustrating.
“Peperina! They have a core. We should target it together—let’s go!”
Merneith didn’t hesitate, rushing forward to join Peperina’s battle. Bloodclaw supported them from afar, creating floating red claws of psychic energy to seize the monster’s limbs, momentarily binding it in place and engulfing it in her Psychic Flames.
As this happened, Peperina struck the monster with her hammer, and Merneith pummeled it with her giant golden fists. They took turns, relentlessly attacking until they reached the beast’s core.
“Don’t touch the core—it’s dangerously cold and may freeze you instantly!” Merneith warned. “The only reason Bloodclaw could destroy it was because she was coated in psychic energy and primal power!”
“Alright, don’t worry. I’ve got something super-hot right here anyway!” Peperina replied, enchanting her hammer with her Sapphire of Hope. It transformed into a massive blue hammer, which she smashed down on the creature’s core several times, blue and white flames erupting with every blow.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The core began to crack and ultimately shattered into countless tiny pieces. The same scream from before echoed again as the Winter General’s corpse finally stopped moving, granting the girls their hard-earned victory.
“It’s done…” Peperina sighed in relief. “They were tougher than I imagined! We should quickly go help everyone else, then.”
“Yeah,” Merneith nodded. “I think whatever showed itself, it might be the root of all this winter in this world… Bing Xue might even be confronting it right now.”
“Then we have nothing to worry about. Our Goddess will surely triumph,” Bloodclaw said with a smile. “If anything… we should simply assist her in whatever small way we can.”
“I don’t think we can do little—we did a lot!” Merneith countered.
“But she’s not wrong,” Peperina nodded. “Let’s go for now!”
The three nodded as Bloodclaw’s barrier dissipated. They joined Mursha and Kalana, taking down smaller Ice Beasts on their way.
“Huh? Oh, it’s you girls! You’re finally back?” Mursha asked. “These monsters just never stop coming!”
“It’s annoying!” Kalana added.
“Don’t worry, we’ll take care of this!” Peperina assured them. “Please go help Fiery Hair and Rainbow Eyes. Whatever they’re fighting, it’s definitely stronger than the monsters we killed.”
“Huh? What do you mean?” Mursha asked.
“They were immortal beings incapable of dying unless you target their core, which is also very dangerous as it can instantly freeze anything it touches,” Merneith explained. “We need to take out the source as quickly as possible. From what my armor’s systems tell me, it’s coming from that Coldwind ant.”
“Huh, alright, if you say so!” Mursha nodded, gripping her axe tightly. “Come on, Kalana, let’s go help your brother and your aunt!”
Mursha grabbed her little daughter, who was much smaller than her towering orc mama, and rushed to aid her good friend and her daughter’s brother.
As she charged forward, she saw both mother and son battling the giant Coldwind. Having become the new “vessel” of the Alien God, her power had skyrocketed far beyond her original levels.
What’s more, her magical abilities had been tremendously amplified, and it seemed she had developed a divinity as well.
“AHAHAHAHA! COME! NO MATTER HOW MANY OF YOU COME, NOBODY CAN STOP ME NOW THAT I’VE BEEN BLESSED BY MY GODDESS’ POWERS!”
As she laughed maniacally, Mursha and Kalana attacked her giant claws, preventing her from reaching Fiery Hair and Rainbow Eyes.
Mursha’s fiery axe unleashed a powerful attack, her Bloodfang Runes activating and unleashing destructive crimson jaws that bit through the areas her axe cleaved.
Kalana was also wielding a weapon now—not just her little fists. Her weapon wasn’t like her mother’s but was composed of her own Aura, solidified as hard as steel.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Mother and daughter cut through the abomination, stopping it from attacking Fiery Hair and her son any further and giving them a moment to breathe.
“Mursha?” Fiery Hair wondered.
“We’ve come to give you a hand. That thing’s not something you should fight on your own!” Mursha declared.
“There’s no time for pride, Auntie. We have to beat that thing…!” Kalana added.
“You two are not wrong…!” Fiery Hair nodded. “Mursha! We mothers distract it. Little ones, strike from behind!”
“Sounds like a good plan!” Mursha agreed.
