The Heavenly Martial Empress Returns Chapter 323: Ruthlessness

-----

“What is happening here?!”

“Frostpierce?!”

As I admired the Ant’s resilience, I heard two other voices behind me. I turned to see them, finding two giant Frost Ants, similar to Frostpierce, standing right behind me. They exuded stronger Auras than any of the other Ants in this world; they were most likely two more of these Winter Generals.

One of them was quite small, though, not taller than four meters, and had only two arms and two legs. Strangely enough, it seemed rather weak compared to Frostpierce, but there was something about it. The one that came with him was a bulkier ant, with an especially large pair of arms and another smaller pair. The larger pair had giant pincers.

“Are you Frostpierce’s friends or something? I was about to finish him off, but I’m now interested in the rest of your ilk,” I said. “He will soon die, but if you want me to spare him, you will lead me to your Goddess’ Palace.”

“What?!” the smaller ant asked, his aura growing larger—an ethereal aura that seemed almost transparent but had a blue hue.

It wasn’t magic, no. It was something I had seen before from someone else…

“Leave Frostpierce right there! Don’t you dare hurt him, or we’ll tear you to shreds!” the larger ant roared, his pincers overflowing with his Aura.

“You were already going to attempt to do that either way. I’m still trying to negotiate peacefully,” I sighed, shrugging. “You know? Maybe I shouldn’t really care, right?”

“Wha…?!”

Frostpierce’s eyes widened as I extended my hand toward him. By releasing a charged amount of Divine Photon Energy, his entire body was blasted into oblivion, disintegrating.

BOOOM!

“Frostpierce!”

“Bastard!”

The two Winter Generals roared. The larger of the two rushed toward me, while the other remained behind, furious. His aura erupted with immense force as an invisible energy grasped my body like a hand, stopping me from moving.

“You will pay for having slain one of the Ten Winter Generals, you wretched Player!” As the small ant roared, the bigger one came rushing forward, his pincers grabbing my body as he tried to tear me into two halves.

“Die! Monster! Die! Die! Dieeee!” he roared, his sharp pincers constantly pressing into my body with the strength of a thousand hydraulic presses, and yet…

Crack, crack…!

CRASH!

His pincers ended up shattering into pieces, revealing the soft white flesh inside. Purple and blue blood erupted everywhere as the ant screamed in agony.

“GAAAHHHH!”

As he cried that his pincers were no more, a surge of invisible energy rushed down toward me, pushing me into the ground with immense force.

BAAAM!

“You will pay for what you’ve done, alien!”

The furious little ant appeared floating above me. His power far surpassed the bulky guy.

Yes, he was no magician or physical fighter.

He was a rare Esper, perhaps the only Esper to be born from these Frost Ants.

He had similar Psychic Abilities to Bloodclaw, although I would say he was stronger, actually.

RUMBLE!

The ground beneath me shattered apart as I was pushed down. The immense pressure was powerful, and using the normal level of “casual” strength I used to fight was useless.

I had to go a little further.

“Okay, you’re strong—stronger than those two meatheads—but I’ve seen other Psychics before. Or, well, Espers? Whatever the case…”

CRASH!

I swung my fist forward, punching the empty air and shattering the psychic power itself, breaking it into countless glass-like pieces that disappeared.

“What?!”

The ant general was shocked as the shockwave of my punch hit him, sending him flying through the skies. A second later, I flew toward him at lightning speed, my eyes glowing with red and golden light as laser beams shot out, bombarding him with several explosions as they hit his psychic barriers.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

“Aaaahh! W-What sort of Player are you?!”

He was panicking, giving me enough time to rush down, kick him in the stomach after breaking through his barriers, and then push him down into the ground below, creating a gigantic crater in the process.

RUMBLE!

“Guuggh?!”

He vomited purple blood, twitching in agony. His psychic powers quickly weakened as he felt exhaustion and the creeping, cold hand of death close by.

“DIE!”

However, at that moment, the other ant roared, charging at me from behind. His claws had regrown using divine ice, and his body had suddenly grown twice as big.

“Vulcan, go take care of him for me. It’s time for you to fight.”

I threw a card at the ant, who looked at it with confusion before it suddenly glowed, exploding into flames and summoning a little Baby Fire Dragon.

“Raaaawwrrr!”

Vulcan roared mightily, encompassing himself in flames and charging forward, hitting the bulky ant in the chest and blowing him away.

CRAAASH!

“What?!”

The ant fell to the ground, rolling through the snow-covered terrain and crushing dozens of trees, then slowly looking back at the little Baby Fire Dragon.

“What sort…! Of thing are you?! A lizard?! With wings…! Fire?! You wield the power of fire…! But Ice is much superior in this world. Fire never stands a chance!”

The bulky ant roared, charging against little Vulcan, who released more and more flames, burning himself to trigger his ability—something impossible through the normal method of the Card Game he came from.

“RAAAAWWRRR!”

He roared mightily, suddenly turning into a giant blazing egg and rolling toward the ant, smashing him with an explosion of flames and burning his body completely.

BOOOM!

“Uuuuaaaaggghhh!”

I looked back at the Esper Ant, his bright blue eyes glaring at me with hatred.

“Okay, so where were we? First of all, I wasn’t even intending to kill any of you. Your goddess came to kill me at Floor 2. I hurt her Avatar and ended up making her fall into that slumber,” I explained to him. “I’ve come here mostly to finish the job, but after seeing everything the people of this world have gone through… I cannot simply mind my own business and move on anymore.”
