The Heavenly Martial Empress Returns Chapter 300: The Immortal Machine Project

-----

After breakfast, we were getting ready to step out and continue our journey, planning to visit the Saurians again for a little while. However, before that, I moved with Merneith toward a large area within my Inner Realm—a city composed of several gigantic golden pyramids. These were massive spaceships capable of traveling through space and unleashing destructive missiles, bombs, and even rays of sun radiation powerful enough to blow up an entire city.

Though most of them were heavily damaged, and due to their complicated inner workings, I couldn’t repair them easily myself, I’d left the task to our prisoners living in this place—Merneith’s people.

Aside from her family members—who had all been killed but then revived, awaiting their return to their home world to be judged for their crimes, as Merneith wished—there were around a hundred others: soldiers, pilots, scientists, and engineers who worked inside the pyramids.

There were also the soldiers who’d chosen not to fight us, a decision that saved their lives from being easily slaughtered by my disciples back when they attempted their little invasion.

I’d turned this place into a city and refuge for them—all prisoners—and provided all sorts of accommodations to make their daily lives enjoyable and smooth, with one condition: they had to work for me now.

At least until there was a way for them to return home, of course… though some of these people were really enjoying their time here. It felt like every day that passed made them forget more about going back and prefer staying.

“It looks like the creation of the Machine Immortals is going smoothly, Bing Xue,” Merneith said, walking by my side.

We passed a large pyramid that had been opened up, revealing a gigantic interior where dozens of people were constantly working on new prototype machines. These were created using materials I provided, combined with their technology and blueprints.

They were still being built. Their shapes were much slimmer and more humanoid than the other machines they’d had or built, and they were hundreds of times tougher and stronger, made using a variety of Martial Treasures of the Immortal or even Primordial Level, which I’d personally mined from my Heavenly Peak Mountains within my Inner Realm.

Their cores were also being forged with their technology, combined with my formations and other spiritual arts, using a method similar to the Mythology Crystallization we’d used on the Beast Spirits—but this time with the souls of the hundreds of immortals and a few primordial cultivators who’d attacked us.

Indeed, I was putting their remains to good use! Though there were many survivors who’d ended up surrendering to me, a lot of the stubborn ones… well, they died, either by my hand or my family’s hands.

Their souls and bodies were naturally excellent materials and were being used as the core components for the crystallized cores of these Machine Immortals. Infused with Immortal or Primordial Ki, these powerful machines would be immensely strong. I planned to make at least a hundred of them to move around the planet and protect it from threats without me having to step in and solve every issue myself.

Eventually, there might be thousands of them made later on, once their creation was perfected and they could be mass-produced without relying on scarce raw materials like the souls of these immortals.

I was also planning to use fragments of my own crystallized soul, but for now, we experimented with their souls first.

“It does seem to be the case! Let’s go talk with your brother. He’s in charge of this entire task, and we’ll also check on the Souls of Ra and Khnum.”

“Yes.”

With Merneith, we entered the pyramid and walked through the large workshop. The engineers here worked using other machines to move pieces and the like—using machines to build machines.

“He’s over there… Brother!”

Merneith called out to him as we saw him working on a large machine he was building. It seemed tall and humanoid, with a feminine appearance, and was roughly halfway done.

“Ah! Merneith?”

He removed his mask, which protected him from the heat, and slowly made his way toward us.

“Master Bing Xue as well. Have you come to check on the new vessel for the Souls of Ra and Khnum? We’ve started working on it right away, using the blueprint of the Machine Immortals, further modified to harbor the souls of our Ancient Gods.”

“So that’s what you’re doing over there… Is it done?”

“Halfway through, Master Bing Xue. I believe we can get it done in a week or two… three weeks to be perfect.”

“That’s a bit too much, but I suppose I can wait.”

“Don’t worry, time moves faster here, Merneith, so in a day or two outside, it should be ready.”

“Oh, that’s convenient! But that appearance… is it really fitting for my Ra and that Khnum? And wait, why Khnum too?!”

“I had personally requested him to be that way. You need a stronger machine—only Ra won’t cut it, Merneith. Hence, we’ll add Khnum into the mix.”

“I-I see…”

“This is the first time we’ve ever made such a machine, so I’m looking forward to this. Trust me, sister, I’ll make you the best one I can!”

“Ohh… Brother, you’ve truly changed, huh?”

“I-I have? Ah… well…”

Their relationship was still as awkward as ever… But I agreed with Merneith—her brother had truly begun to change more than I’d imagined.
