WIP - Mal Stand

I wanted to try animating something a little bit subtler/slower so I went for a standing up motion haha (it's HARD). I initially did the rough over at RoughAnimator on ipad and finished the rest over at clip studio paint.

I remember reading somewhere, when it comes to acting, you can pick a body part and use that to lead the body on how it moves. In this one, I decided to try using the head to lead the motion.

WIP - XP Pen Drawing

I wanted to do a pretty stereotypical pose haha but here's a process video of my recent drawing for XP Pen. CSPs 3D asset store is such a life saver for these kinds of things. I'm not quite happy with how I decided my colors (i really should start reabsorbing the sensibilities of illustrators). I've been drawing with lines way too much.

A bit of a background, I've always wanted to make a tribute for the D&D characters I've played for the last 5 years (at the time) so I went with wanting to make an anime-styled rundown of all them (excluding one, I'm sorry Kookie).

2022 Update

Figured I'd do this year update now!

I'd say this has been my least prolific year in a while art-wise but at the same time I've achieved a bunch of life stuff outside art. Looking back at my last December entry, it turns out I feel like I haven't drawn much then either and this year really turned out in a way I didn't expect it to go. I do acknowledge having launched an artbook from drawings for this Patreon has been a big thing!

With that said, some personal (art related!) stuff ...

Perks of using Procreate and working on ipad in general is remembering that stuff automatically records. Anyway some sketches I did!

I (once again) will lament Procreate's terrible filling tools hahaha. I do miss doing flats on CSP...........

Phew november?? Almost the end of the year?? I'll probs do a yearly update of just general art-related stuff that has happened.

I have been traveling and barely drawing at all BUT here are a bunch of knickknacks I've drawn the past months!!! I wanna get back to animating but I feel I need to sit down for it. I miss my computer!!!!!!!!

QUICK NOTES - Relativity

Been a hot minute but I wanted to write my thoughts on this down because i need the reminder. It’s easy to scale or shrink stuff down but there are other means to make things bigger/smaller/softer/sharper/etc.

It’s all about relativity!

This is a bit of subtle concept but this is a nice means of pushing your proportions a bit more! By increasing the gap between the visual weight of forms and shapes, you will get a more punchy result in terms of proportions!

It's been TWO years of uncertainty but I think I can finally say that I can put a lid on this thing.

As someone who has been selling black and white zines and comics in local conventions, it is a bit of a large step up (and also lowkey goal) for me to produce a colored artbook/sketch compilation for an international convention. I think what better opportunity for this is to have this out for Lightbox Expo this October.

JANUARY 2022 UPDATE

This is quite a ways off of the usual monthly update and it was SO LATE that I totally forgot to pause for this month's billing period!!! Argh!! I have refunded those who have subbed into the higher tiers and the window of refunding has passed for the rest (which was a big undertaking since I needed to go through each one individually).
