OP Sister Chapter 412: Fending Off The Demon Invasion

Listen While Reading: 奇々怪々
-----

Song and his mother traveled the skies, accompanied by two of Anna’s Egos, which were her and, at the same time, an aspect of her—a split piece of her mind and personality. Occasionally they had variations in her personality or embodied one of her emotions.

The two that accompanied them were vastly different. One was made of Darkness and Demonic Ki, the embodiment of Anna’s Cursed Seals, Yin. The other resembled a burly, tall version of Anna with long blonde hair and yellow eyes, wearing armor made of white bones and holding a skeleton staff—the embodiment of her Specialization, Necro.

Song had an awkward moment trying to talk to them, as they seemed both so familiar and, at the same time, so different. Even the Heavenly Empress wondered just how many of these “clones” of herself Anna possessed.

“Uh, so how should we call you?” Song wondered. “I know we’re in a dire situation, but are you two also Anna? S-somehow? Like how my Record self was also a part of me?”

“Maybe, kind of,” Yin said. “But at the same time, not completely. We are Anna but also a separate piece of her, so we are technically not her while being part of her. We share what we see with her, and she can control us remotely to talk through us, but we’ve developed our own personalities to an extent.”

“I-Is that so…” Song muttered.

“You can call me Yin,” said the Cursed Seal Ego.

“And I’m Necro! We all know you, and we are technically Anna, but you can call us however you want,” Necro said with a gentle smile.

Song was certainly surprised how different yet similar they looked compared to his adoptive sister, especially Necro, who resembled a huge, muscular version of Anna he could have never imagined—not even in his wildest dreams.

“Then it is decided,” the Heavenly Empress nodded. “You’re my daughter as well, right? Yin and Necro, I believe over there, there’s a large concentration of demons coming from that portal. I sense something strong.”

“Yes, certainly. Among the many cracks, there are larger holes that are actually Gates that lead to another world,” explained Yin. “I don’t know if it’s our world or another Hell, but I believe it might be another Hell that somehow got connected here. However, I’m certain that Beelzebub was living on Earth, meaning that where he came from could be Earth…”

“It’s confusing, I know! We’re truly sorry, but we are as confused as you are, honestly,” Necro explained. “One of the Gates has been sealed anyway, and our original body is taking care of Beelzebub, so we shouldn’t worry about them. The Heavenly Demon seems to have already moved to another, farther Gate, so we must take on this one.”

“I agree,” the Heavenly Empress nodded. “Song, get ready. You must quickly get used to your abilities; this battle is far from over! Aside from these otherworldly demons that monster brought to buy time, I am sure that thing is preparing something else!”

“I-I know!” Song nodded. “I’ll do my best, Mother!”

As the group of four reached their destination, a giant swarm of demons emerged from the massive crack in space. The crack, resembling a purple and red inferno of flames, constantly spawned giant Demons and Demonic Beasts—the smallest four meters tall, while the largest reached tens of meters.

Their appearances varied slightly, but most resembled humanoid creatures or beast-like monsters such as bears and wolves, although their fur was burning, and they had multiple heads, eyes across their bodies, and extra limbs. The demons, mostly humanoid, looked rather human-like as well, with skin colors varying from purple, red, blue, and yellow.

Their heads were adorned with sharp black horns, and most had large bat-like wings on their backs, long tails with pointy tips, and sharp claws. Mostly wearing bone armor and carrying huge bone weapons, they exuded tremendous auras of demonic power, perhaps equal to immortals.

Only about half a minute had passed since the gate opened, but thousands had already emerged, all of them aiming for the seas—and quite possibly whatever was left of land, the two paradise islands that the Venerables were taking care of and where the “traitor mechanical trees” were located.

Song and his mother, alongside both of Anna’s Egos, intercepted them as they descended. The large group of a thousand wouldn’t easily stop against four, though, as they could easily slide from every angle across the skies.

Hence…

“You will not descend another meter!”

With a furious roar, the Heavenly Empress released her powerful, oppressive Aura of Hope. A shining light encompassed her surroundings, making her look like a small star that rapidly expanded into the skies!

FLASH!

“W-Wha…?!”

“Gryyaargh?!”

“Is that a Celestial?!”

The demons could speak this time. Unlike the more savage insectoids, humanoid demons were capable of speech and knew many tongues and languages, although the beasts by their side were just as dumb as any animal.

RUMBLE!

The Heavenly Empress’s Venerable Aura generated gigantic pressure. Her Light of Hope burned the demons that dared to touch it, their bodies set ablaze by Holy Fire until they exploded into ashes.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The demons, who had intended to easily take over this world, were stopped immediately. The three thousand demons summoned so far instantly stepped back as they saw their comrades burning and exploding into ashes one after another.

The light wasn’t of the same origin, but it felt just the same as the power the Celestials wielded—capable of harming them and even overwhelming them with the almighty power of Holy Light.

“Oh? They’re dying rather quickly…” The Heavenly Empress was surprised. “It seems that the Light of Hope is incredibly effective. Why is that the case? Not even against Demonic Cultivators would it make them explode into ashes! Just what are these demons made of?”

“They’re extremely weak against Holy and Pure energies and elements,” Necro explained. “There is a race of winged, feathered humanoids similar to our main body. They’re like humans, although three times as tall, and they have huge white feathered wings—sometimes many at a time. They’re called Celestials and are the demons’ archnemesis. They possess the power of Celestial Holy Light, which can easily destroy them, as their bodies and energies are made almost completely out of negative power. That is, if they aren’t strong enough, they can die instantly if a strong attack hits them.”

“Not all demons are… well, bad,” Yin explained. “The main body met a tribe of surviving demons and helped them survive and fight back in their original world. But the ones we’re going to face right now are probably barbarians or a group of warriors belonging to a Demonic Throne. Don’t feel remorse slaying them even if they can speak like us; they have probably already killed many people through their invasions of other worlds.”

“Hmph, if things are going to be this easy, though, I suppose I won’t need to go all-out…” the Heavenly Empress said.

As she said that, the demons attacked back. Hundreds of them combined their Demonic Energies and Magic, unleashing an inferno of Blazing Demonic Meteors toward the Heavenly Empress. This was incredibly destructive magic, capable of wiping entire countries off the map of the worlds they conquered!

And yet…

The Heavenly Empress’s golden eyes remained unwavering. Her divine, holy light gathered into her entire body and then was released once more.

“{Heavenly Light of Hope}!”

FLAAASH!

The light of golden and white rushed like an endless wave of purity. The meteors instantly disintegrated upon contacting it, and even the pentagrams summoning this tremendous magic shattered.

Crack, crack…!

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

As the pentagrams shattered, the demons tried to run away but were quickly burned by the light, exploding into ashes! From hundreds, their deaths already surpassed one thousand, and they continued to die rapidly, one after another.

Even the largest and mightiest demons coming along were immediately destroyed. The power of the Heavenly Empress had never been this high before! After awakening her dark powers further and fighting constellations and many other foes, her abilities had continued to grow through Anna’s sponsorship abilities, increasing her stats as she battled and pushed herself to her limits.

“It almost feels like I will soon regain my true power…” she thought for a moment as she continued attacking. “Song, Anna, stay behind me. I think I’ll handle this one on my own. However, Anna, can you prepare a seal to close the Gate?”

“Sure!” Necro nodded.

“Okay,” Yin agreed.

As they were about to do that, Song’s eyes widened. Amidst the cleansing light of his mother, he saw something…

FLUOSH!

A giant black and red eye emerged within the light, completely unbothered by it. The eye floated in midair, opening a huge pair of jaws with sharp fangs, and began to eat the light.

CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH!

“Ugh?!”

The Heavenly Empress suddenly felt her own powers weakening and shattering. Her hands trembled as she faced a slight backlash, sharp pain piercing her head as she saw her light disappear.

“What in the world?!”

She glanced at the giant black sphere of darkness, with a gigantic red eye in the middle and a pair of jaws beneath. That thing had devoured light itself—and her technique was one of the strongest across the world.

“BURP…”

The spherical demon burped as it looked at the Heavenly Empress and Song with its single eye, wearing a relaxed, annoyed expression.

“Uh-oh, that’s a strong one,” Yin said. “I guess they didn’t just bring jobbers this time... Wait, is it just me or does he looks like pacman?”

“It might be a sizable challenge, maybe,” Necro said. “It exudes a great deal of power… And I think that might also be the Avatar of a Constellation.”

“Is it?!” the Heavenly Empress asked as the sphere suddenly grew twice as big, overflowing with energy within it. Suddenly, it also gained golden, circuit-like tattoos across its black, spherical body, which was now as big as five meters.

It seemed to have not only eaten the Heavenly Light of Hope but assimilated its powers and added them into its own body!

“It assimilated Mom’s light?! A demon? But didn’t Anna say they were super weak to it?” Song asked.

“I only said that the weakest ones would die easily…” Yin said. “Demons are incredible beings, you see, my dear Song. They can evolve infinitely into all sorts of beings, develop all sorts of powers, and adapt to any adversity—with enough time, resources, and luck.”

“Indeed, that spherical demon is most likely one of them. I have no idea if it has a title or name, though…” Necro said. “I cannot appraise it easily, unlike the main body. But based on her knowledge, it is probably within the level of a Death Apostle or higher.”

“Like that fly that Anna fought?” the Heavenly Empress asked.

“I would say… perhaps stronger,” said Yin. “It seems to be the Avatar of one of the Demonic Thrones.”

[The Demonic Throne {The Greed That Consumes Everything} says that their Avatar has been specifically handpicked to completely shut down any attempt at stopping his army.]

“Of course, it had to be from this bastard, Mammon!”

“That is indeed a demon he would choose for his avatar…”

Both of Anna’s Egos agreed. Only that raging lunatic obsessed with taking things from others would make a literal floating ball with an eye his avatar…
