“You’re…!”
As Beelzebub was being suppressed by Anna’s tremendous pressure, his eyes glanced at the figures emerging from the Purgatory Portal.
A gigantic humanoid draconic reptilian demon with black scales, red eyes, and golden horns, with enormous sharp claws.
Astaroth.
A huge saber-toothed cat-like demon with golden fur and black stripes resembling lightning, crimson eyes, and lightning-shaped fangs.
Aim.
A large humanoid crow-like demon with black feathers, red eyes, four wings, and four arms.
Neberius.
A multi-armed, centaur-like demon covered in crimson armor that had several pointy horns across it, holding two huge great blades.
Agares.
And lastly, a very tall humanoid demon covered in black armor from head to toe, with huge black horns, holding a large demonic sword with a crimson eye on it.
Bael.
All of them were Death Apostles that belonged to the same group he did.
Death Apostles he had tricked into working for him, which he ended up throwing to their deaths.
They had changed quite a lot since the last time he saw them, and they seemed much stronger too.
Ki was overflowing from their new, stronger bodies.
And now, they didn’t even require vessels or something either; they were strong enough on their own to sustain their existences.
Especially when they were Anna’s Familiars.
“Hoh, what do we have here?” Bael asked, holding his sword tightly. “You did say you had a surprise for us, but this? It’s more like a gift!”
“We meet again, Beelzebub,” Agares said.
“Yeah, damn bug…” Aim groaned, showing his sharp teeth.
“So you came all the way here to kill Anna?! Are you fucking stupid or something?” Astaroth asked angrily.
“He clearly lacks a brain at this point, CRAAH!” Neberius yelled.
“Why are you…?! You’re alive?! How?! This is…!” Beelzebub grew more confused and frustrated. “You’re working for a human now?! This is ridiculous! What has happened to your pride?!”
“Pride?! There’s no point in having pride when we were almost killed and then sealed by her,” Agares said. “I can’t say I like it, to be honest, but her treatment towards us has been much better than yours, old friend.”
“You used us and threw us away once we were of no use to you,” Bael said. “We believed that you would help us all gain new vessels; we gave away our souls and powers for that purpose, and yet you used our own deaths to fuel your damned plan… I thought we were similar, Beelzebub. That we worked together towards creating a new World for Demons. But we are clearly different. You’re a selfish bastard that has never cared about his fellow demons at all! A traitor to our very race!”
“Y-You dare say I am a traitor to the Demon Race?!”
Beelzebub screamed furiously, full of indignation.
“Your deaths were necessary! If only she and her damned group of humans hadn’t stopped me in the last moment, if that chimera bastard hadn’t tried to steal all my hard work, I could’ve achieved great things, incredible things! With that power I would’ve…!”
“What would you have done?! You’re only obsessed with going back to the throne Uroboros took from you! You never cared about us!” Aim said angrily.
“The Titles of Death Apostles carry a meaning to us; our group wasn’t just looking to achieve our own personal desires. Our entire congregation was created for a purpose!” Astaroth said angrily.
“To bring back and recreate our Demon Worlds… To create a utopia for the demons that were lost across worlds and for those that still clung to life even in the misery of ruined worlds…!” Bael said angrily, his pride and aura overflowing from his body. “Did you ever think about our fellow demon tribes and their suffering one bit?!”
“Hah…”
Beelzebub completely lost it, smiling at them.
“Hahahah… You’re all pathetic!”
He smiled at them with his sharp jaws.
“What did you say?!”
Bael’s demonic sword overflowed with great power.
“You’re all demons! Why do you care about the well-being of others?! Our fellow tribes?! The ones that suffered and died?! Come on, our homes?! None of that actually matters one bit anyway!”
Beelzebub laughed loudly, mocking his fellow demons.
“If you’re a real demon, you should only care about yourself! You fucking idiots brought your own demise by acting like complete buffoons! Who cares about other demons or our tribes, legacies, or homes?! That’s just a bunch of weaklings that couldn’t fight back! We are all special because WE SURVIVED! Don’t you understand?!”
As Beelzebub spoke, every demon confronting him grew more and more furious; Anna was surprised. She had never seen this facet of the Death Apostles in the novel at all.
“So that’s what you truly believe then…” Bael nodded. “Very well… We won’t waste our time anymore.”
“Unlike you, we don’t forget our pasts, you know?” Astaroth said. "We don’t forget the families we have nor the people we loved.”
“We might be a bit stupid, or you might call us useless, but…!” Neberius groaned angrily. “At the very least, we have one another, while you don’t have anybody!”
“Perhaps we were trampled, but…” Aim said. “We might have found a worthy leader instead of the sorry excuse you were.”
The demons glanced at Anna, making her feel weirdly flustered.
“H-Huh?” Anna had hoped for them to just kill each other, but things ended up evolving into something completely out of her expectations.
The demons, despite their attitudes, had already begun to respect her more than Beelzebub, at the very least.
And even considered her a “worthy leader”!
“Dammit, what the hell? Hahah…”
Beelzebub laughed, glaring at them.
“If you’re going to throw away your lives against me, then come and fight me!”
As he roared furiously, his wounds recovered, and his Aura exploded into a gigantic swarm of thousands of insects.
“Alright, guys, you’re free to do whatever you want to him,” Anna said. “Nemesis, go and help your new friends too. Be nice to them.”
“GRAAAH!”
Nemesis roared, finally happy that he could fight again.
He and the other Demons rushed down; they didn’t have much time to ask what the hell that guy was, but they joined him, battling Beelzebub’s swarm-like aura.
“RAAAHHH!”
Aim roared mightily, his entire body overflowing with demonic golden and red lightning as he swung his giant claws, releasing explosive thunderous storms, blowing through the swarm as they came.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
He opened his giant jaws, tearing apart the insectoid monsters, and even when they exploded to deal damage to him, he remained strong, his body having become tougher through this journey too.
“BEELZEBUB, CRAAAH!”
Neberius flapped his four gigantic, black-feathered wings, unleashing a rain of giant black feather projectiles, which pierced through the fly’s aura and destroyed it rapidly, explosions of black flames engulfing it all.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Neberius flew through the skies, avoiding the incoming blows from Beelzebub’s Aura Manifestation while also releasing more and more of his feathers until hundreds of them swarmed together into a flying swarm of blade-like projectiles.
“YOU THINK YOUR DAMN AURA CAN STOP US?!”
Astaroth roared mightily, growing to his largest size possible and pushing back the enormous insectoid demon god aura that Beelzebub had summoned, punching it with his massive fists and beginning to quickly weaken it.
BAAM! BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!
“GRRRHHH…!”
Beelzebub groaned furiously, holding back their power but ultimately being pushed back more and more! Although he was sure he had healed completely, his power hadn’t increased.
“I cannot grow stronger?!”
He quickly realized that he had reached the limit of how strong he could grow with Demonic Rebirth because of his own lack of talent and power.
His body was simply not strong enough to keep growing!
“What’s wrong? Flustered?”
“Ugh!”
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
A barrage of storming slashes made out of crimson red demonic energy reached Beelzebub; the giant insectoid tried to resist them with his massive arms.
Despite everything, he was still larger than the demons!
And yet, he greatly underestimated Agares by doing so.
“Fool!”
“{Demonic Crescent Moon}!”
The attacks suddenly combined into a gigantic crescent-shaped crimson slash, piercing through Beelzebub and slicing three of his arms at once.
SLAAASH!
“AAAAGGH?!”
In his desperation, Beelzebub kicked Agares down with full force, sending the centaur-like demon flying into the sea beneath!
And yet…
“Fight me, Beelzebub! You ravenous traitor! You loathe Uroboros, when you are just as traitorous as he is!”
Bael appeared above him, swinging his huge demonic sword, a creation made using Anna’s powers; she had equipped everyone with powerful weapons and armor using her available materials.
Although she couldn’t give him back his original sword, Gram, Anna had given him a copy of Gram, an enormous, glorious black blade with a red eye in the middle, forged using demonic metal she had refined herself with her own Demonic Ki.
“{Abyssal Descent}!”
Swinging his blade down, Beelzebub tried to resist with barriers, his arms, and also his magic aura, and yet…
CRAAASH!
He was able to slice through it all; Bael’s brute force was greatly underestimated by Beelzebub, allowing him to surprise him with a downward slash that sliced across half of his torso.
“GRUUAAGH?!”
Beelzebub vomited blood and screamed in utter agony, releasing a guttural sound from his insectoid jaws. At the same time, he saw Agares reappearing behind him, unleashing the same technique he used before.
“{Demonic Crescent Moon}!”
SLAAASH! SLAAASH! SLAAASH!
Several times!
“I-IMPOSSIBLE…!”
Beelzebub, in that moment, began to realize he was being overwhelmed! By the demons he looked down on so much, by the ones he treated as pathetic.
This was, somehow, even more humiliating than being bullied by Anna!
“T-THIS CAN’T… THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING TO MEEEE!”
The power of Lucifer and Mammon surged through his body as he tried to regenerate back, and yet…
POOF!
“H-Huh?!”
His eyes widened; the power was gone, completely sealed away. In fact, it never got to him!
He glared at Anna; the girl smiled at him.
“Nuh-huh, no more borrowing the power of other Archdemons, not on my watch.”
Her Cosmic Aura had already created a bubble encompassing them all, which cut the flow of powers from other Constellations towards their Avatars.
“Y-You fucking bi—”
“RAAAAHHH!”
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
Before Beelzebub could speak another word, his entire body was punched into pieces by the rampaging Demon King, Nemesis.
The fly attempted to regenerate again in that moment, but…
“I-I don’t have more demonic energy?!”
He felt utter despair at that moment.
“Hmm, it looks like the Constellations didn’t even send that much power either way… Maybe I shouldn’t have even blocked it?” Anna laughed from afar. “It seems they only used you to get here; after you brought the Demon Army and their Avatars, they don’t care about you, Beelzebub.”
“W-What did you say?!”
Beelzebub felt his eyes wetting as tears fell from them.
He had grown so afraid and fallen into so much despair after hearing that, he began to cry!
“Look at this bastard; he’s even crying?!” Astaroth roared angrily.
“Pathetic little shit, and you call yourself a demon?!” Aim asked.
“CRAAH! Piece of shit!” Neberius spit on his face.
Bael and Agares glanced back at Anna.
“Anna!”
“You’re the one that decides his fate.”
They thought she might forgive him and make Beelzebub join them.
And yet… She knew they wouldn’t get along.
And she didn’t care that much about a stupid fly anyway.
“He’s all yours, boys.”
She smiled devilishly, showing her demonic side.
And the demons smiled too!
“Stop…! G-Get away from me!”
Beelzebub screamed in agony, unable to defend, regenerate, or fight back anymore; he saw the Demons he humiliated, used, and betrayed tearing his body and soul to shreds and eating him.
“GRUUUAAAHHH!”
Crack, crack…!
CRAAASH!
As his soul was fragmented and devoured, all the Death Apostles gained greater power too, their appearances and forms evolving into stronger versions of themselves.
“Who would’ve thought that bug would help us evolve, CRAAH!” Neberius laughed.
“Hmph, serves him right…” Bael said.
“Hahahaha! I’m so strong now I could slaughter a million humans—I-I mean, I could slaughter a million monsters!” Aim stuttered.
“Good,” Anna nodded. “Now come with me… The real threat has yet to be vanquished. You guys have grown decently strong, so I’ll be relying on your strength from now on. Don’t disappoint me.”
“We won’t!” They roared in unison.
In that moment, Anna had secured their utmost loyalty.
