We gathered inside the Inner Realm of the Heavenly Empress to celebrate. There was a massive feast, beautiful music, and all the immortals and even mortals gathered together to eat. Both demonic and orthodox, tonight was a night we celebrated; nobody held any grudges against each other anymore; they forgot about it all and simply celebrated together that they managed to give another step forward.

I joined in on the celebrations, ate, drank (juice only!), and laughed at the jokes. I saw the people laughing as well, smiling; it made me feel good. I felt happy; I saw my friends enjoying everything as well. I felt happy, yes… I felt happy.

But I was so tired too!

I kind of wanted to sleep for a whole week, honestly.

So ultimately, despite it all inviting me to keep around and celebrate, I walked away from everything and just sat on the terrace, enjoying the cold wind.

[“Feeling tired? You’ve done a lot. You’ve changed so much I can hardly recognize you from back then sometimes…”]

Gram spoke to me; as I sat down, he seemed to have been rather silent through the entire damn day, but he was finally speaking again.

“Well, look who’s awake. Have you been sleeping the last days? You barely talk now,” I sighed.

[“And what if I sleep sometimes? I am a magic sword, so sometimes I need to rest for several days to keep myself in good shape!”]

“Oh, so you were actually sleeping?!”

[“Yeah… I mean, not really. I mean, yeah, I was sleeping but not completely.”]

“Okay?”

[“With Sepa and Bastet at your side, and then Fang Shuan, it feels like I don’t really need to talk that much anymore. I used to do it because you felt quite lonely whenever you weren’t with your friends or brother.”]

“Oh…”

[“But with your Egos and everything else, I guess you’ll never be truly alone. Hell, my own ability to speak to you isn’t natural. I didn’t speak with my master either, you know?”]

“You didn’t?!”

[“No, my ability to speak appeared when you purified me from the demonic state I was in… I don’t know why, but you did something to me that sparked this… ember within me.”]

“I didn’t know…”

[“You always do a lot of incredible things without knowing, my wielder.”]

“Gram… You’re calling me “my wielder”?! Aww!”

[“However, I feel like this ability… it is slowly fading away”]

“Huh?”

[“Over time I’ve felt sleepier; that’s why I went to sleep for so long.”]

“…”

[“One day I might not be able to speak again to you, Anna…”]

“I-Is that so… Well, if I keep upgrading you, I’m sure you’ll be fine!”

[“I don’t think so. My soul hasn’t changed. And it is slowly losing its form. I suppose in a few days… maybe a week or two, I might disappear”]

“Oh my god! Why didn’t you tell me before?!”

[“I didn’t want to scare you… I’m sorry.”]

Gram…

I can’t believe he’s like this, dammit!

Is he really going to disappear?!

What can I do?

“Wait, can’t you eat the souls I give you? Like that you’ll-”

[“It doesn’t work like that. My Soul and Sense of Self are sustained through my Story. But because I’ve been broken for so long, I am deteriorating on the inside. Once my Story fully vanishes, I might remain as a weapon like before, but the internal powers will disappear rapidly.”]

“Shit… So it’s because… because you’re broken.”

[“Yeah…”]

“That’s easy to fix, right? I’ll ask my brother to give me your other half, and we’ll combine them with Hilda’s help!”

[“I knew you would say that… But even then, back then when I was complete, I couldn’t talk either. I am an anomaly, my ability to speak born from several circumstances at once.”]

“Don’t be like that with me; we’ve shared so much together!”

[“…I’m sorry.”]

[“…”]

He fell silent, as he wouldn’t respond to my words anymore.

“Gram?”

I shook him around, trying to call for him.

“GRAM!”

No response…

No, no, wait…

Wait a second, this can’t be happening out of nowhere!

I was so happy, and then this…

Damn Gram.

“Why are you like this, stupid sword?” I sighed, shedding a tear over his blade. “For how long are you going to sleep now?”

I caressed him, as I felt his soul still there, trying to exist.

He was born from these strange circumstances, his ability to speak from all of this.

But why? How did it even happen?

If I want him to stay like he is and not go back to being a lifeless sword, I need to find out what happened.

“Don’t worry, I’ll repair you back to normal, then I’ll find a way to turn you back.” I tried to be positive. “Stay there, sleep all you want. I got this, partner.”

[“…”]

As I sighed and glanced at the moon, I noticed a new notification.

Ding!

I didn’t see this one pop up before; I must’ve missed it in the heat of the battle or something. But the rewards are plentiful, so I’m grateful.

With this, I got 500k Plot Points! So many…

With this I could certainly sponsor more people.

But for now I should save them; after all, I still owe the system like two million plot points after having sponsored the Venerables.

And about the rewards, pretty standard stuff, I think, but still pretty good. This might be the last reward I get before the trial finally ends.

The last item, though, is a bit strange; it’s a Skill Book themed after the whole world of Bestia. How does that even make sense, actually?

“Haahh…”

I couldn’t help but yawn a lot right now; I was so damn sleepy, and this dumb sword made me cry. I really need to sleep and settle down my thoughts.

Too much happened today, but even more might happen tomorrow. I have to steel my mind and prepare for what’s to come.

So much has happened, honestly.

So many memories, so many experiences, and so much I’ve learned…

This world already feels like my second home.

I hope the next trials aren’t as long as these, or at least, they don’t feel as long.

I guess it's still kind of my fault; I was the one that wanted to become their apprentice and learn from them.

I guess that this has lasted this long; it is my fault.

But in a way, I kind of needed this break more than I thought.

A whole new perspective, a whole new world, new friends, new strength, and new things to learn.

And above all, I even found a family here…

But it’s not like I’ve forgotten my family back home either.

My brother, Dan Baihe, Annabelle, Kevin, and everyone else.

They’re all precious to me too, and I can’t wait to meet them once more.

In fact, I miss them!

“Haah… So tired…”

I rested over my bed and instantly fell asleep…

I had a weird dream that night.

Yeah…

It was a dream where I ate dinner with my brother and my adoptive family here.

Song liked to talk with my brother, and my brother would act nice and pet his head.

And he would be happy too.

And even Fenrir was there for some reason, I guess.

What a weird, yet heartwarming dream…
