It's a bird! It's a plane! It's the full length reaction to Superman! I loved this one SO MUCH! This movie had so much heart and felt so hopeful! OH, and of course I loved Krypto :) Enjoy!

SUPERMAN (2025) - Full Length Reaction!

This is the closest Superman has ever been to the comic books. Krypto exists since 1955; the "drunk" Supergirl is straight from Tome King's "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" and there is a concrete and heavy reason behing her drinking the will probably be explored in her own film; the robots are straight from Grant Morrison's "All-Star Superman". DC is not all dark, gritty and edgy, but just few characters are and you can find humour even in there. Thank Mother Nature that they have thrown that idea in the bin where it belongs.

Hope you check out some of the Superman animated movies they are so good and fun with some team ups with batman too!

I did not like this version of Superman. Now look, James Gunn has been a beautiful part of the MCU with all three Guardians of the Galaxy movies. I believe his movies kept the MCU going while some of the others fell short of expectations. Here is the thing, he turned a DC movie into a Marvel movie. I may be old fashioned, but I like my Superman movies to be DC. Krypto the dog and a drunk super girl seems too over the top ridiculous. And what is with the robots in the fortress of Solitude? And some of the fight scenes felt like a cheap knock off of the fight scenes James Gunn did in the Gradians of the Galaxy movies. Just my two cents.

Absolutely loved this film! Hands down, the best cast and iteration of Superman on the silver screen since 1978, if not even better!

I don't know what "domino" you're expecting to fall, the film is 83% on Rotten Tomatoes with most critics having already reviewed it (compared to Man of Steel at 57%). And if you think the film is a "flop" at $600 million box office you're crazy, it's already better than broken even by most estimates (its estimated break even point was about $450 - 550 million). And that's just box office, that's not including any streaming revenue or ancillary revenue. So no, it objectively didn't flop at the box office based on the numbers, and it's gotten better critical reviews than Man of Steel. There's no domino falling here. P.S. Jeremy Jahns also gave the same rating to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 which by most reviews is the best of the triology. I think he just doesn't like James Gunn. 🤷‍♂️

This film is mid, and that's being generous, 'Man of Steel' will age better, and this film won't beat it in quality or in box office numbers. I'm happy that Addie enjoyed it, but I truly believe that Jeremy Jahns review was the first domino to fall. For the last seven to six months, I heard all these crazy and stupid leaks but I was like 'Nah, James Gunn couldn't be that dumb,' but the leaks were true, all of them. Krypto is annoying and he's a white lab, not a self insert for James Gunn's psycho dog. I was generally shocked by the mix reaction to Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor, I thought he could've had been the only stand out, but his "IA, IA, IA" line will go down in infamy. My main problem with this film is not that its stupid, not that's its an overstuff mess, made for the Gen-Z/Tik-Tok generation but that Superman isn't super in it. He's weak, vulnerable, immature, and gets his butt whopped throughout the entire film, and nobody respects him, not even Krypto, and Supergirl calling him a bitch was eye rolling. There is nothing wrong with being stoic. Superman doesn't whine or gets triggered by a hashtag, I can't believe that was true. And the Jor-El twist... unforgivable and its character assassination. Warner Bros spent of what is reported by Ohioan tax law and marketing to be roughly, $500 million at best and have the film flop, barely cracking $600 million. James Gunn fired Henry Cavill for this?

Sadly this is still not available in the UK, our Prime only has it on preorder with no confirmed release date. I did see this at the cinema and did enjoy it for the most part, i did really dislike what James did with his Kryptonian parents though, i was hoping it was going to be a missunderstood or miss translated but Gunn has gone on record saying its 100% accurate.

I will be re-watching this later and commenting a bit more but for now, you telling Jimmy to "Take one for the team" is my favorite line!
