Update!
Added 2025-07-30 16:00:15 +0000 UTCThis isn't today's main post! My reaction to Dr. No will be up shortly :)
You're going to think I'm absolutely insane... I had a panic attack after watching the first episode of Game of Thrones. I've definitely watched more intense movies and shows, so I'm not sure if I was just having a bad day or if something in the show set it off. Thinking about watching more of the show makes me nervous, so I think it's best if I hold off on GOT for a while. I know this is probably disappointing to a lot of you, and I really am so sorry for this!!
Looking back at that poll, Ted Lasso and Andor had the next highest number of votes (I'm already planning to start Bond), so I'm thinking about watching Ted Lasso later in August and then Andor after that! I believe the episodes for Ted Lasso are around 30 minutes each, so I should be able to get through the show fairly quickly. Andor only has two seasons, so it shouldn't take me long to get through that show either. Just wanted to keep you all updated on this :) Thank you as always for your support and for understanding!

I had read all the books that were published at the time before starting the series so I think that dulled the impact of the series for me somewhat. In saying that, Martin's writing also packs a massive punch especially if you are a highly visual reader. It isn't for everyone but if you can take being 'shaken, not stirred' it is rewarding. It's a shame he will probably never finish writing the series.
