A Lot Like Love 2005; you're Welcome.

Casey Ryback

PLEASE SOMWHERE IN TIMEE ITS GOT CHRISTOPHER REEVE IN ITT

Jasmyne

Eternal Sunshine is one of the best movies ever made. Three genuinely deranged geniuses, Gondry, Kaufman and Carey, came together to make something none of them were capable of on their own.

Jacob King

Looks like Something About Mary beat out Meet the Parents, I’m surprised by how much though! I would have guessed Meet The Parents would be the bigger Ben Stiller movie since it’s more recent and has a couple of sequels. Not that I’m complaining, Mary is funny and it’s been a while since I saw it. 😄 It just wouldn’t have been my prediction.

Doug

Of all the gin joints in all the world...

Raj Hudek

Yup! Jerry Maguire! But here's another one: "Music and Lyrics" (2007).

Randolph Tirazona

FWIW I think you would like Jerry Maguire (1996) another one to add to the list after one of these movies wins.

Steve

Eternal sunshine broke my heart and then proceded to bury it in cement

Variety

Torn between eternal sunshine and theres something about mary 😅

Rey

Some great choices here! It probably won't be the popular choice, but I think Somewhere In Time could be an Addie classic.

Jon Anderson

Don't forget about Shazam in the DC. Great movie.

Michael Tucker

Another good movie that I liked but is not listed is Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Casablanca wins vs all though.

Augustus87

...and also My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) & Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009).

Alex Tan

I rewatched Casablanca last year and it still holds up, great movie!

Doug

You forgot “You Got Mail”

Jesse Shadows

I’ll partially disagree in that saying Romancing the Stone “allowed Zemeckis to make Back to the Future” is a bit like saying Duel allowed Steven Spielberg to make Jaws so people know about it. Yeah it’s technically true both movies helped them get their foot in the door to make a bigger summer blockbuster a few years later, but I don’t think most people have watched or even really heard of either film for the most part (certainly not compared to either director’s later works!) P.S. That’s a loose analogy, to be fair, Romancing the Stone definitely did better at the box office then duel!

Doug

I regret to inform Miss Miss Addie Counts that she neglected to include the horror classic My Bloody Valentine (1981) ❤️⛏️🩸 😁

Julian San

"Romacing the Stone" isn't *that* deep of a cut, IMO. A handful of other reactors have watched it. And its success was basically what allowed Robert Zemeckis to then make a little movie called "Back to the Future."

Byrd N. Hand

I have a write in candidate- the perfect movie- Casablanca.

Augustus87

Cool, there are some decent movies on this. 🙂 I'm going with There's Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. (It'll be interesting to see which Ben Stiller movie beats the other in the poll! 😄) Also, Addie, I highly, highly recommend adding When Harry Met Sally (1989) for a future Rom-Com or similar suggestion box. It's pretty great. 👍 P.S. Romancing the Stone is kind of a deep cut pick. It's not my favorite in the action-Romance genre, but it's ok. 🙂 It came out the same year as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (the second Indiana Jones film) and kind of got swept under the rug by that. I'd say the two are pretty on par with each other. Neither is as good as the original Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, but to be fair that's a high bar to reach!

Doug

"When Harry Met Sally..." not being on this list is borderline criminal, but so be it. 🤷‍♂️ How about another fantasy poll one of these days?

Byrd N. Hand

Happy Thursday, Addie! 😊 Some great movie choices for this poll. My votes easily went to "Romancing the Stone" followed by "Sleepless in Seattle". Have a great day today! 😊

Randee Carreno

Happy Thursday, Addie. All are great choices but my votes belong to Romancing the Stone (1984), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Meet the Parents (2000), 50 First Dates (2004), and Hitch (2005), basically a large half of this poll.

Alex Tan

50 First Dates, Hitch, or Meet The Parents are all very good options.

Brian Leonard

SLEEPING WITH OTHER PEOPLE is great.
