Sports movie poll!

I haven't done a sports movie poll in a while! Help me choose a movie to watch next!

Comments

First watch War Horse

Casey Ryback

The Replacements is the best football movie EVER!!!

Wayne Tuttle

Hii Can u please watch Superman 3 with Christopher Reeve

Jasmyne

*Maguire

Byrd N. Hand

I do feel, though, that Addie is somewhat due for another emotionally wrenching film. Just not this time around, obviously...

Byrd N. Hand

To be fair, Field of Dreams isn’t so much a baseball movie as a movie that uses Baseball as a vehicle to tell its story.

Simone's Coconut Squire

Recently rewatched this with another reactor. It gets more brilliant every time I watch it.

Simone's Coconut Squire

Cinderella man, Secretariat

zynjams

Field of dreams please. Absolutely amazing movie and one of my favourite sports movies.

Stephen Fairley

A league of their own followed by Field of Dreams... two of the best movies ever made.

MrAustincummings

Hi Addie. Please add American Flyers (1985) to any future Sports Movie polls.

Lee Pitman

I'm a life long Cubs fan & too see it once is enough. Hahahaha

Matthew Maxon

Can my vote count as 52? I wanna see you react to "The Replacements"!

BubblyRainbows

Should still react to Karate Kid Part II even if it doesn’t win the poll

Andrew Storing

these are very good movies, but I think you’ll enjoy Moneyball the most

e4tless

There are a surprisingly large number of really good sports movies. 🙂

Doug

Ur missing For Love Of The Game, Bull Durham, The Blind Side, Tin Cup

carbsix

Watch all of the Karate Kid movies, then watch and love Cobra Kai like all of us do lol

Jesse Shadows

I think that you would also enjoy these movies about sports: - "Concussion" (2015) *True Story* w/ Will Smith, Alec Baldwin - "Necessary Roughness" (1991) w/ Scott Bakula, Hector Elizando, Robert Loggia, Sinbad, Rob Schneider, & Kathy Ireland - "Snatch" (2000) w/ Jason Statham, Brad Pitt, Vinny Jones, Benicio Del Toro - "The Last Boy Scout" (1992) w/ Bruce Willis, Damon Wayans, & Halle Berry - "Cool Runnings" (1993) *True-ish Story* w/ John Candy - "Spartacus" (1960) w/ Kirk Douglas, Laurence Olivier - "Ben-Hur" (1959 version) w/ Charlton Heston, Jack Hawkins

JAKH

Both A League of Their Own and The Replacements are really wonderful movies. I really suggest watching the latter even if it doesn't win this poll.

Tina P

Pickle Tickle for the win! LOL

Josh McHugh

Field of Dreams is wonderful, but it's not even the best baseball movie starring Kevin Costner! That would be Bull Durham (1988) written by former minor leaguer Ron Shelton. Shelton also tried to make it on the Pro-Golf circuit at one point and ended up writing another Costner classic sports movie, Tin Cup (1996)

james repka

Not to mention starring Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford~

Mr. Writhms

As a Cubs fan, I would be remiss if, for a future poll, I didn't recommend "Rookie of the Year".

Tim Heron

Did you already do THE NATURAL?

Philip Davetas

"Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings" (1976) James Earl Jones, Richard Pryor, and Billie Dee Williams. I know no channel will ever post this movie (because its not in same OLD set of popular sports movies) but I always mention it on sports polls just to make people aware of this awesome baseball movie. I hope someone will check it out on their own.

Mr. Writhms

The underrated "Eight Men Out" also came out in '88... which, like "Major League," also features Charlie Sheen. Throw in "The Natural" and I think that'll have covered all the other major baseball movies from the '80s.

Byrd N. Hand

Ooh, Addie, consider adding Bull Durham (1988) to the next sports poll, that’s a really good one too! (98% Rotten Tomatoes, it came out right around the same time as Major League. Major League is good and seems to get more buzz nowadays but Bull Durham is actually (I think) the better film. 🙂

Doug

Addie could still probably even squeeze out a Tom Cruise poll, off the top of my head she doesn’t seem to have Jerry McGuire, Collateral, Risky Business, Interview with a Vampire, Minority Report, and Reacher on her Letterboxd list.

Doug

Definitely The Replacements. That movie is not just hilarious but so much heart. It is one of my all time to 5s

arne lind

Million Dollar Baby is an excellent movie, but yeah… not exactly “fun”. 🤷‍♂️

Doug

42 is about Jackie Robinson breaking the baseball color barrier.

Matthew Maxon

61* is such a fantastic movie that NO ONE ELSE has done. It's about Roger Maris beating Babe Ruth's record of 60.

Matthew Maxon

"Miracle" is another great hockey one and you would actually really enjoy it too

Chris Shine

Shit, all of them are fun, exccept million Dollar baby, that one isnt fun. What ever wins though is gonna be great reaction.

Thats MR. Baldamort

I suggest adding Little Giants (1994), Brewster's Millions (1985), & The Big Green (1995), to the list.

Daniel E. from ABQ

What about JERRY MCGUIRE? Its got Tom Cruise and an adorable kid!!

Bill Rudd

Happy Thursday, Addie! Can I put in a vote for all of them? LOL!!! All of these are some of my favorite sports movies. There's only one of my favorite sports movies that's missing from this list. And that's the 2004 movie "Miracle"(which I VERY HIGHLY recommend)based on the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey game. I voted for "The Karate Kid Part 2", but any movie that wins is going to be a fantastic watch. Have a great day! 😊

Randee Carreno

Major League is my all time favorite sports movie. I watch it every year before baseball season starts

Scott Macalino

Cmon field of dreams.

Alex Gorell

Hoosiers!

Thomas Wetherell

Major League is my favorite.

Brian Leonard

Money ball should win by a country mile from this list.

Rickie 1978

Karate Kid Part 2 and Mighty Ducks are the only correct answers. Can we tie them for the top?

Aldo Gonzales

There are some really good movies on this! My top picks are A League of Their Own, Moneyball, and Million Dollar Baby, but that’s just me.

Doug

I was named after a character from Days of Thunder ☺️

Cole Trahan

Happy Thursday, Addie. All are good choices here but my top vote belongs to Days of Thunder (1990) with Tom Cruise, produced by Don Simpson & Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Tony Scott, the director of Top Gun (1986). BTW, Michael Rooker (Yondu) & Cary Elwes (Westley) are also in it. #DaysOfThunderForAddieCounts https://youtu.be/RU2tNPd8zJA?feature=shared

Alex Tan

Um. All of them?
