Ask me anything!
Added 2025-01-07 17:00:34 +0000 UTCIt's almost time for our first Q&A of the year! Ask a question, any question!

In her last Q&A, she did say that she is excited to see Wicked: For Good (2025).

2025-01-14 14:19:56 +0000 UTCAddie’s got a golden ticket! Addie’s got a golden ticket! Your golden ticket lets you go to the theater and re-watch (forgetting everything previously) and see something for the first time! What do you watch? Speaking of the theater… would you (and maybe Camilla) rent out a theater showing to see something live? February will be here before you know it. Maybe a Valentine theme poll?
Billy Dancel
2025-01-14 09:46:14 +0000 UTCHi Addie, happy January. Do you have any interest in watching Zero Dark Thirty about the hunt for Osama bin Laden? It was Jessica Chastain’s first big movie and is one of my personal favorites.

2025-01-11 05:25:58 +0000 UTCYou might know this because you know theatre; Why don't people have accents when they sing?

2025-01-10 16:34:21 +0000 UTCSince you’ve seen the first one and it’s been asked a lot could you also still react to Karate Kid Part 2 even though it won’t win the latest poll?

2025-01-09 19:10:40 +0000 UTCAfter watching Home Alone 2, I have two questions. • First, after hearing Marv screaming while being electrocuted do you think he would’ve been great at the opera? • Then, when Harry blew himself up in the toilet, somehow survived, and lifts his head up to look at the camera does that count as a fourth-wall break? • Bonus question: any thoughts on reacting to Home Alone 3? People have different opinions about it, but at least the traps are funny.

2025-01-09 09:20:48 +0000 UTCI think about once a month or so, Addie makes an all call for movie requests. We input the name of 1 movie and they all go on a spinning wheel of fortune, just like the game show.
Augustus87
2025-01-08 18:56:46 +0000 UTCAlex, I appreciate your input. The name of the novel is A Golconda Story. I have made a limited number of hardback copies for friends and family. I just thought to send her a copy. Otherwise it is electronic only.
Augustus87
2025-01-08 18:54:42 +0000 UTCI don't know about her doing a PO box because her ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) comes to play with why she won't start one.
Alex Tan
2025-01-08 17:35:53 +0000 UTCNo worries, that's just your quickest way to get an answer about whether or not she's seen something.
Byrd N. Hand
2025-01-08 06:44:57 +0000 UTCI second Eyes Wide Shut (1999). I've been suggesting that movie since Christmas. #EyesWideShutForAddieCounts

2025-01-08 04:07:29 +0000 UTCWhen you see a movie in the theater, do you have to remember not to talk?
Joeheg758
2025-01-08 04:06:40 +0000 UTCMaybe there could be a way to get Addie to finish one of those in between the DCEU.
Alex Tan
2025-01-08 04:06:03 +0000 UTCCasablanca (1942) is the most quintessential Warner Bros. movie and I second that suggestion. #CasablancaForAddieCounts

2025-01-08 01:45:58 +0000 UTCWet Hot American Summer (2001)
Steve
2025-01-08 01:44:11 +0000 UTCHmm, fun category. 🙂 Here's a few potentially good ones for the list: - Crip Camp (2020) - A documentary about a summer camp for kids with disabilities. (100% Rotten Tomatoes!) - Theater Camp (2023) - A comedy about trying to keep a theater summer camp afloat - Addams Family Values (1993) - Pugsley and Wednesday spend time at summer camp - Moonrise Kingdom (2012) - Young love between camp runaways P.S. Addie's already seen The Parent Trap (1998) or I'd add that too.

2025-01-07 22:23:46 +0000 UTCDo you plan on doing a summer camp poll or have a string of summer camp related movies in mind for summer this year? And may I give my suggestion for a summer camp movie? Meatballs, which is Bill Murray’s first starring role.

2025-01-07 21:43:43 +0000 UTCI have some silly questions to choose from. What’s the most random, useless skill you’re proud of? If you were arrested "not that Addie would ever get arrested" with no explanation, what would your friends assume you did? If Ollie could describe you in three words, what would he say?

2025-01-07 21:06:14 +0000 UTCOn a tangent check out Vsauce’s video Illusions of Time, it’s all about unusual ways we subjectively perceive time passing (e.g. When you’re bored in the moment time seems to drag, but much later when you recall the time you were bored it doesn’t seem like it took as long. Or how up until late middle age years seem to pass more quickly as you get older, and then around 50+ it levels off.) 👍

2025-01-07 19:47:01 +0000 UTCAlong with "12 Angry Men," "Casablanca" is almost definitely the most reacted-to pre-'60s movie on YT. They'd certainly make for a nice primer for her getting into more movies from that era.
Byrd N. Hand
2025-01-07 19:31:14 +0000 UTCI'd implore everyone to check her Letterboxd page before asking her if she's seen a movie or not: https://letterboxd.com/addiecounts/films/ 😐

2025-01-07 19:26:19 +0000 UTCIt's more of a reBOOT than a reMAKE, from what I understand...
Byrd N. Hand
2025-01-07 19:25:26 +0000 UTCContinuing with the "Mad Max," "Lethal Weapon," "Naked Gun," Harry Callahan (aka 'Dirty Harry'), "Beverly Hills Cop," Jack Ryan, etc., movies would certainly be preferable to watching any more of this DCEU junk. 🤨
Byrd N. Hand
2025-01-07 19:21:40 +0000 UTCHave you ever played world of warcraft? I use to play years ago and had a friend in game who went by the same nickname "Addie" and you sound similar. It's what actually made me subscribe to your channel.

2025-01-07 19:00:35 +0000 UTCAnd on a tangent, Addie did already watch the new Star Trek remake with Chris Pine as Kirk which also happens to be a top rated time travel movie as well. 😉
Doug
2025-01-07 18:47:17 +0000 UTCI'd go with another film starring Nicole Kidman: "Eyes Wide Shut." Not really rom-com-y, but definitely in the erotic thriller vein.
Byrd N. Hand
2025-01-07 18:20:23 +0000 UTCThanks for all your entertainment with regards to sharing your reactions! Also, have you ever seen Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist? A possible recommendation with Feb 14th coming up =)

2025-01-07 18:18:44 +0000 UTCWanna react to some old Humphrey Bogart movies? Casablanca, The Big Sleep, Key Largo? Casablanca probably the best choice, but I'm a sucker for Bogart and Bacall.
MrAustincummings
2025-01-07 18:17:54 +0000 UTCNot to mention that "Army of Darkness" is actually the end of a trilogy preceded by "The Evil Dead" and "Evil Dead 2"... and "Voyage Home" would potentially open another whole can of worms with introducing her to old school Star Trek, which has unfortunately greatly consumed both Jen Murray's and, to a lesser extent, Popcorn in Bed's output for over a year now. 🤔 If she just stuck to the movies, I *might* be able to handle it. For other films also sort of in the time travel vein, I'll add "Slaughterhouse-Five," "Somewhere in Time," and "Source Code" as well.

2025-01-07 18:11:51 +0000 UTCWithin reason, obviously. It should go without saying that you'll probably want to steer clear of the socially taboo trifecta of religion, politics, and sex.

2025-01-07 18:03:15 +0000 UTCWhat are your thoughts on doing a poll for sequels to some movies you have watched for the channel? Men in Black, Oceans 11 and TMNT are a few I can think of that have more movies that are solid. I'm sure there are others too

2025-01-07 17:51:44 +0000 UTCHi Addie! I thought some suggestions for a Time Travel movie to maybe watch for Groundhog Day next month could be fun. 🙂 - Time After Time (1979) - Time Bandits (1981) - Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) - 12 Monkeys (1995) - Primer (2004) - Midnight in Paris (2011) - Looper (2012) - Palm Springs (2020) I’d also have added Army of Darkness (1992) and Triangle (2009) but they’re maybe better for October scary season. 🙂 (This obviously isn’t an exhaustive list, I’m sure other commenters might want to add to it! 🙂)

Favorite live-action Universal Pictures movie that had a film score by John Powell, The Bourne Identity (2002) or Wicked: Part I (2024)? Favorite Jon M. Chu movie, Crazy Rich Asians (2018) or Wicked: Part I (2024)? Favorite sci-fi movie that came out on June 25th, 1982, Blade Runner (1982) or The Thing (1982)? Favorite movie that came out on August 3rd, 2001, The Princess Diaries (2001) or Rush Hour 2 (2001)? Favorite movie that came out on November 17th, 2006, Casino Royale (2006) or Happy Feet (2006)?

2025-01-07 17:04:25 +0000 UTCWhat are your top five and top ten favorite movies that came out in 2024? Would you ever consider watching a rom-com for Valentine's Day? Will you react to Squid Game 2? Here are some more Wicked-related questions: What was your favorite song in Wicked: Part I (2024)? If Universal had made Wicked as a non-musical movie in the mid-90s with Robert Zemeckis directing it with Demi Moore as Elphaba and (perhaps) Michelle Pfeiffer as Glinda, do you think that would it have been successful at the time or are you happy with the current two-part movie musical? HOT TAKE: Now that Wicked: Part I (2024) has become a huge box office hit, do you think that it'll lead into a resurgence of live-action movie musicals, similar to what we had with superhero movies?
